Ronnie Earl: Guitars
Lorne Entress: Drums
Dave Limina: Piano, Hammond Organ
Jimmy Mouradian: Bass
Special guests: Nick Adams: guitar, Michael "Mudcat" Ward: upright Bass, electric bass and piano.
Filmed and recorded live at Wellspring Sound Acton, Massachusetts April 21 and 22, 2007.
I saw Ronnie Earl about 1989 at Ella Guru's club in Knoxville, TN and it was a performance like none other I have seen. When he started to play the club was noisy with chatter and clinking glasses. As he played he got quieter and quieter and quieter until the audience became silent as they listened and hung on every note. It was an absolutely awesome experience. As you can see, I've never forgotten it.
One of the finest blues players, pure, humble guy, lots of soul in his music. I'm very happy with my dvd from this concert, and when i need some inspiration for playing the blues i play it again and again. Keep om going Ronnie!
Digging deeper heals the soul and keeps me sober and Serene God bless Ronnie
Got to see him at a festival in Georgia around 2016. Great player, band was superb, too! I got to meet him after the show, and had heard what a nice guy and gentle soul he is. He was very nice, gracious and humble. I told him he was a huge influence on my playing and asked to take a pic with him. I said, "Thanks, Mr. Earl," and as he stood beside me to take a picture he said, "Call me Ronnie." This guy is as good a person as he is a player! Totally deserves all the respect and admiration.
we are so lucky Ronnie lives near me and he is often out and about sitting in with local blues bands, he just shows up at jams, quietly plugs in, no fan fare, and magic happens! ver approachable and humble. thanks for posting.
I like it when Ronnie wears his traditional African garb.
yes RONNIE EARL you are very good guitarplayer with alls talents bluesmen! !!! thanks RON" . jackyfan 👍frrench
The greatest living electric blues guitarist.
The emcee nails what Ronnie Earl is all about: SOUL!
Blues shuffle on one and four. Grooooovy. Cheers Ronnie. xxxx
Very nice performance from a real virtuoso. He is one of the most soulful players. I also did play alot his Soul searching CD fro 1988 in my old Dodge Wagon. Was my first CD from Ronny Earl & The Broadcasters
love ronnie great player and human being
In white blues easily TOP 10. His phrasing has so much to say. A bit like BB or Peter Green he knows where the sweetest notes lie on the fretboard. And no bullshit from his fingers which is rare nowadays
i can listen to ron for hoursssssss!!
I love this guy's playing and phrasing so much.

Amen we are all beautiful children of our higher power, stay sober and help another alcoholic / addict. Thank you Ronnie Love You Brother. The 13th step is when we step into heaven.
One of the best applications of the Strat tone I have ever heard!!

This music is so tight and clean, has a super band behind him. Listeen to thbass pull some great riffs, along with a few passing chords. Very balanced on stage sound.I think I found a very good blues player,I got my Roland's out and played along. He is strong, strong, strong!
Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters are GREAT!
Nobody plays sweeter than Ronnie. Amazing artist.
Ronnie really gets me in the heart. Just got to see Ronnie & the Broadcasters for the second time (Portland, Maine). What an enjoyable evening. One of my favorite jazz/blues guitarists.
Somebody sends him just the perfect notes to play!
I have family in Portland….good place to see Ronnie Earl! Last time I saw him was in nyc at a b b king tribute show at the bottom line. In his prime-finest blues guitarist ever. Artistry. And always sick good bandmates.

Saw Ronnie and the B's last night at the Narrows in Fall River, 3 hours of pure blues. The man just gets better with age. Bless and thank you Ronnie for keeping on.

Another amazing concert from the blues master: Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters...
So nice ! This is the music vid i keep coming back to.
Bobby's Bop is just so awesome.
There is no greater soul blues guitarist that Ronnie! What I wouldn't give to see him live here in Australia. I live in hope!!! I think the chick that did Ronnie's intro on this gig was spot on with her comments about him touching your soul :)
Superb organ tone !

Plus that was just an open mic blues nite like any other and he just dropped in. I told my friends who didn´t know him they were in for a treat. He didn´t disappoint!!!

Wow. Great band, great players..
Had the pleasure of seeing Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters along with Diane Blue last weekend at the Space in Evanston, IL This was an amazing and very moving experience, one I hope to repeat.
Rick Blodgett Good for you! Their version of Etta James' "I'd rather go blind" brings a tear to my eye. Wonderful stuff.
Brilliant! He was in Tromsø Norway in 1991.
RIP Jim,
We love You
Thanks for posting this. Great audio and video. Will be an important addition to my blues collection while I learn more about this great blues-man.
This is the most fenderish tone and sound ever! God bless Ronnie!
GREAT...!!!!
One of my all time favorites is Ronnie Earl, has an amazing Touch and Feel. I hate to compare Artists, but something he has in common with SRV is that he has never played a single note without emotional commitment. God Bless you Ronnie Earl, and thank you for the inspiration..
+Michael Reis Good comparison. Same feeling, same touch upon soul for me too.
+Michael Reis Stevie Ray was a great mechanic but he didn't own the blues.
+GARYTEXAS Say it after listening to Life by the Drop or Lenny.
Danny, as far as I know I own everything that Stevie released and everything worth having released by friends and family. And as a good Dallas boy I have listened to Lenny and Live by the Drop. This is the first time I have heard the Broadcasters, they are great! Now I misunderstood and thought you were calling Ronnie Earl a Stevie Ray poser (imposter) . Thank You, and I am sorry.
I got Texas Flood & Couldn't Stand the Weatheron vinyl and all the early stuff on cassette tape and I don't think it'll play but I got Texas Flood on 8 track
Amazing!!
In my opinion this is the best, most natural application for the Fender Strat. It just sounds so mellow and full of tone. Of course it doesn't hurt that it's being played by a phenomenal player like Ronnie! He's got the real stuff. You could spend a couple months dissecting these licks and become a legitimate blues player for sure!
Todd Hooper bi
Todd Hooper. I agree, great tone, midrange,,,, :)
Sorry, but dissecting Ronnie's licks won't make anyone a "legitimate blues player" in a few months or even a few years. You can't dissect someone's soul. Ronnie is who he is and what he is because of a complete commitment he has had to his instrument, his art and his music. It's not just notes on a fretboard, it's finding the 'inside' of those notes and wringing out every ounce of emotion in them.
yes I agree, this for me is the Strat at it's best. Does help when you have a great guitarist like Ronnie playing it.
I've been listening to Ronnie for years on Pandora. Love his tone and blues/jazz fusion style.
"stratdave1" screen name with a picture of a Les Paul as your profile pic! Haha.
This IS everything music promises to be!!! 😃
Listened for 10 seconds and I already love it!!!!!
fantastic!!
Not sure who had this style first, because I know Earl and SRV played same circuit late 70s early 80s...but his playing is very reminiscent of Stevie Ray, down to the clean Strat, pick attack, touch, even note selection/phrasing. Anyway, no matter, I love this style of blues and have enjoyed Ronnie’s music for years. Nice to run across this. I need to go pick up my guitar now, and practice! ✌️
Gray Otis I think Ronnie Earl took a lot of his stuff from guys like T-Bone Walker and early BB King. Stevie R seemed to have more of a rock influence >and Albert King, more than anything. I always thought SRV sounded like a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, and Albert King....but he did more to bring the Blues to the people than anyone, in the early 80's when it was in danger of dying out- (with the help of David Bowie, who gave him his break in '82). If it weren't for SRV, the Blues may not have become "hip" and all the guys we enjoyed then and today may not have got the exposure and recognition.
Thanks for the post - Ronnie in great form.
Superb!
fantastico, ottimo groove..
This man's guitar hits me deep down in my soul...thank you
Earl little publicity their playing style high quality blues your, just as your E Clapton, S R Vaughan , G Moore , J Bonamassa blues and other·s long live the blues.

Holy Crap! What a great band. Sweet.
Charlie Frey - his amp is a Fender Super Reverb (40 watts, 4 10" speakers). That's the amp he's most associated with, and it's what he's playing (it's over on the other side of the drums, tilted back on it's legs).
Michael McInnis Blackface Supers rule.

Ronnie, I love you. I feel very close to you even across this distance. Please let me know, when you come to Europe. I want to meet you, man. I am your disciple. ;-) I feel the same: I wanna spend some love and peace and harmony and this is not a clishee or stereotype.
Sensacional
I had never heard of Ronnie Earl - typed in "blues guitar music" in youtube and several uploads of RE* came up - absolutely love his laid back blues style - what blues music is all about - pure organic, without the hype* - in my personal opinion very underrated - I am enjoying - thnx' for upload
He uses silence between the notes so effectively to convey emotion !
Cool tune
This man is phenomenal. Been listening to Ronnie Earl since Roomful of Blues. Long time 🎸🎵🎶
