Senri was a child prodigy. As noted, she is now 27. I’ve been following her for years. All of these girls were prodigies. Brilliant and mature musicianship from all of them.
This group's performances just are a thrill to watch, and the quality level is still the same: excellent. Can't wait for the Second Album and the (hopefully inevitable) Tour of the USA!!

Someone please explain to me, how this works. Juna and a lot of these fantastic musicians show up in different bands consistently. 1) Jazz Avengers 2) Tokyo Groove 3) The Muses. And it’s all fantastic. It must be great to visit Tokyo and see this amazing entertainment on a regular basis. I’m captivated!
Well, I believe there are many jazz clubs in and around Tokyo and many of these top musicians know each other and they like to keep busy performing. These musicians have so much expertise and skill (and of course they can all read charts) they have no problem playing different gigs and fitting right in with each other. True professionals respecting each others skills. Bottom line...they like to play and Japan is loaded with jazz venues.
Is it possible to listen to, and watch this video without a smile on your face? Heck, I have tears of joy in the corners of my eyes. This is brilliance!!
A Trumpet/Flugelhorn, Trombone and Baritone Sax players would be wonderful additions to this already marvelous band. It's great to hear Latin influences in the rhythm sections's playing and in Senri's solo. Her level of playing is world class.
They're The Jazz Avengers - of COURSE every performance is gonna be spectacular. I liked the split-screen video, especially at 1:35 where Senri solos over the montuno that Marie is playing. You can see how musical and "melodic" Senri is. Excellent!!
and.....there is Chizuru with the biggest smile while playing!.....Love this group and want to see them in concert but....not sure when I can make it to Japan.....

One of the best JA works, props to Senri! She kinda made everyone work harder than usual! Look at 1:50, to keep the tempo like that you need to be fully concentrated! Also this is so 80s! I can see this piece in some classic movie soundtrack. And what it is i see 4:40? Chizuru doing sweeps! And Miku was a house of fire in the very end. But my fav part was 3:14 - 3:18, perrrrrrrrfect.
