- Have you wondered if you can wash your suede/nubuck leather work boots in the washing machine? Well, in this video I'll answer what could happen if you do decide to wash them based on my own experience, washing my own suede work boots.
Washing my suede/nubuck work boots in the washing machine didn't damage my boots but it did made the leather stiffer (I show in the video how to fix it though)

It's best to wash them by hand with dish soap and soft bristle brush warm water. Dry with hair dryer or air dry. A suede eraser is great for getting remaining stains out and bringer leather to its original texture...

I never recommend washing shoes in the machine, but I won't say it's the worst decision. The worst decision would be to put them in the dryer. As was pointed out about the water - heat is the enemy. To dry your footwear, put them in front of a fan, but not hot air. Heat, especially if the leather is wet, will shrink and harden leather. This is especially a problem with cement constructed shoes because the expansion and contraction of different materials at different rates from each other is part of why separation occurs.
Good points Seth. Personally never had any issue with doing this. If my wife finds out that I bent the washing machine's drum...that would be an issue for me lol.
I guess I should make a video about what happens if you put them in tumble dryer 😃

@@spotsillI know. 😃 Luckily I learn from mistakes and now when I wash them I put a lot of stuff in the washer together with the boots to avoid more dents😝
