You've got an awesome vibe, Vic. Im supportive of creatives in the photography, videography and gear genres here on youtube but some can be hard to watch. But I don't think iv ever not watched one of your videos full through. Thanks for the content and thanks for your personality!!!
Hey Houston, that’s incredible feedback to get. I genuinely appreciate that. Out of my own curiosity and always looking to improve, what do you find hard to watch with others…
@@VicBarry This is all personal opinion of course and in no way an I saying that other creators are bad. Everyone has there own style and some involve a lot if not all talking head shots. Talking head is 100% necessary however, they wont put in cuts to showcase there point or real life use case of what there talking about (except maybe for a top down shot of what there showing). Sometimes that's fine if you need to know very descript information on something but I prefer the story telling side of things where i can see the product being used in a real world situation and side by side comparisons taken from that live environment. It gives me context on how and why they were being used in a certain way. Overall your presentation grabs my attention and keeps me involved. Plus, your from Ireland and I'm not sure if you could tell by the name Houston but my family comes from Scotland and iv always had an unhealthy obsession with Scottish and Irish lore and history so you have a slight leg up on the competition 🤣🤣anyway, hope that helped and ill defiantly be using your channel as reference material when I start uploading.
Thanks so much Houston for this invaluable reply. I genuinely appreciate the time and effort that went into this and find it truly helpful moving forward. Thank you again
Hey there. To be honest I’d look at manual focus so you have complete control. Alternatively you could have Centre point focus or wide or flexible. Just depends on what your shooting and how you want it to look. And don’t forget aperture too
@@VicBarry Thanks a million for your reply. Yes i've been shooting in manual exposure and manual focus mode but still finding it tricky the photos seems to blur a lot. I initially got this camera for video but recently have started taking more still shots. However not getting the clarity i would like and keep going back to my very old Nikon D40. I'm thinking it's definitely something I'm doing wrong with the focus settings, i will keep messing around with it. Is this a better camera than Nikon D40?
@@VicBarry so if i'm focussing on a dish in the foreground, you cannot see all aspects of the food. say granola and yoghurt, some of the ingredients in the bowl are blurry or sometimes all of the ingredients.
Nice video. I use lumix cameras. The first camera was the G7. it came with a 14-40 3.5 to 5.6 lens. At first i thought the lens was rubbish. Due to watching videos saying it was. Then i got the g80. It has stabilization dul stabilization if the lens has stabilization. The Kit lens had stabilization so I tired it out. Its now a lens i take everywhere with me. Kit lens i feel is a good lens to learn from. Most influencers will say the kit lens is rubbish then will plug a lens. If your able to take good pictures or videos with a kit lens then you'll take amazing ones with a better lens.
Great video Vic. New to cameras. I’m wanting to get into as a hobby. Would you suggest spending the extra for a different lens or would the kit lens work for a beginner? Thanks for the great content.
Hey there. Thank you. If you’re just starting out use the kit lens. After a while you’ll figure out other lens choices. Whether you want a telephoto zoom lens, an ultra wide lens or something in between. Unless you have a very specific need for something else then the kit lens will do the job 🙏
@@VicBarry thanks for the reply Vic. I’ll start with the kit lens. You have earned a new follower for the honest reviews! Look forward to watching and learning for your content.
Just came across your video, thank you for this, just got my ZV E10 yesterday and going to take it out today, only have the kit lens at the moment so this makes me happy! 😃
hi vic . i just ordered the camera today and i got E PZ 16-50 mm F3.5-5.6 OSS SELP1650 lens as with the kit. In your video , you have mentioned about f1.8 aperture. Is your lens is different or i have to do some kind of setting to get minimum aperture for bokeh effect.
To be honest most folks won’t know much difference between the two as they’ve very, similar specs. It’ll be you who’ll take the better photo not the camera 🙏🔥
Hey Vic . The kit lens of my sony zv e10l wobbles and rattles a bit .. its brand new. Is there manufacturing defect in my unit or your unit also have same problem?
Depends on your budget, depends on whether it's for front on, or top down. Something like the Sony 16-35 or 24-70 might be a good choice, but they're not cheap! The Sigma 16mm is a wide angle lens that may also suit and is cheaper!
man why are you not replying how you got 1.8 aperture when the kit lens only got 3.5 .....in the end of your video detail its said 1.8 aperture.....can you please explain i seen may asking the same question.....even I have the same lens but Sony is not sending anyone 1.8 aperture kit lens
Sony forgot to add the caplocks to the lens and to the camera hmmm I will better pay 10-20 $ more to have them in the package then look around and order online . Not fair Sony
Sorry vic… lit lenses are not the best…… I’d rather splash me cash on a vintage lens… Helios 44-2 m42 for a tenner… Even Carl Zeiss Jena lenses for fifteen-20 quid… Going to get much better quality than the kit in my humble view…
Hey there. Yeah, I totally take the point. Vintage lenses can be completely hit and miss though from a quality perspective. You never know if the one version you get is gonna be up to scratch. But very fair point. All that said, I’d still disagree. For anybody starting out a kit lens is more than adequate. It gets somebody familiar with the core concepts of photography and more importantly it gets them taking photos and telling stories.

love Kit Lens for Sony ZV-E10, E PZ 16-50mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS hug!)
thankyou for a good tutorial, i just bought my sony zve10 and i learned a lot.
Great to hear! Glad the video helped 🙏
nice pics but I'm wondering how did you get f1.8 with the kit lens?
That is also my question, does anyone have the answer? I'm curious.
Great tips Pal !! Those Cobh fireworks looked class
Thanks Darren 🙏
Love your stuff you’ve pretty much sold me on this camera
Great photos! How did you get an aperture of 1.8 on the kit lens?
I do not think that this is possible. It only goes down to 3.5. This is probably a typo.
@@margaretisolan9189 on 50mm it doesn't even go upto 3.5
I was wondering the same.
I'm guessing that was another lens
I saw that too. Two photos had high aperture under 3.5
great video but how do you get an aperture of f1.8 when then lens can only go to f3.5
That is exactly what i already was asking 😅😅

Great video!
notification gang checking in!!! as long as it has good auto focus for me!!! then I'm good
Thanks Louis 👍👍
very good video and great information as always . thanks
Thanks for checking in Tomas!! Appreciate you and all the support you bring to the channel!! Thank you
Isn't f3.5 the minimum aperture for the kit lens?
Aweosme vid, question which picture profile did you use for photography
Appreciate you Vic.
Thank you ;) I appreciate you too for checking out the vids ;)
Hey barry i like your videos but the last picture you are showing hiw can you get the aperture down to f1.8 with the kit lens the lowest goes f3.5 😅😅😅
If you are shooting food photography, what's the best setting for the focus area? Also the focus area limit?

When you say it blurs a lot, is that the entire photo is blurry or something like the background?

Hey Orin, thanks dude. So, so true. Great point, well made 🙏
Does zv-e10's sensor produces same sharp quality images that what we get in a6600??
Hey. Yes. It’s the same sensor 🙏
Which lens should I buy instead of kit lens for Sony ZV e10. I need a good lens for cinematic videos and photos.
Is the lens I have on a5000 worse than this one, or basically the same?

Sony zv1 vs sony zve10 with kit lens, which camera's video will look good?
Can I record boxing movements clearly with any of these cameras?
The last photo thats you describe settings. Is this photo is raw/edited, use any filter? Is it edited
Hey there. Which photo is this exactly? Have you a time stamp?
hi vic . i just ordered the camera today and i got E PZ 16-50 mm F3.5-5.6 OSS
SELP1650 lens as with the kit. In your video , you have mentioned about f1.8 aperture. Is your lens is different or i have to do some kind of setting to get minimum aperture for bokeh effect.
Hey Ashish, congrats on the new camera. Same lens I got with mine. Other lens will have different apertures
Vs the A6100 which one is better at photos with the kit lens?
To be honest most folks won’t know much difference between the two as they’ve very, similar specs. It’ll be you who’ll take the better photo not the camera 🙏🔥
Hey Vic . The kit lens of my sony zv e10l wobbles and rattles a bit .. its brand new. Is there manufacturing defect in my unit or your unit also have same problem?
Unless it’s severe then it’s ok. Mine had a bit of a rattle too. But nothing major. If in doubt though send it back
My kit lens moves up and down when extended. It’s a $100 lens not a gmaster.
I'm planning to start a cooking channel and if I buy only E10 body what unique single lens you will suggest me in budget

Tried it with firmware upgrade? Thoughts?

What about with other lens is it still possible to take decent photos with this camera compared to an a6400
Absolutely. It’s basically a slightly smaller version of the a6400
@@VicBarry Good to know, I think im leaning more towards this than the a6400 and theres supposedly stock soon for it
Yeah. The zve10 is floating around the states alright but on this side of the pond who knows.
Keep in mind there’s ZERO stabilization in it so that might be a problem depending on what you’re doing.
@@VicBarry so far it mainly be a streaming cam and a family cam and the odd vlog if i travel
3:42 😂🤣

Seems like a lot of work just to get some gods night shots
I owned the bottom end of the cameras and then I owned some very expensive ones . I always clicked the same shitty pics as ever .
It’s not the camera that takes the pic 👊
