@Mjermonthicks My theory is that Isiah has always been the little guy with arguably the most heart. People don't believe me but he was a little more competitive than MJ, Magic, or even Kobe. He absolutely Hated losing and it crushed him being left off the dream team especially because the coach was Chuck Daly who coached him to 3 straight finals appearances(won 2), the season directly before getting left off the dream team. I'd be hurt too but MJ clearly was the reason lol he'll take it to the grave but we all know it

For people who didn't know about the feud. The two were best friends at the beginning of their careers. In 1991, magic made his HIV diagnosis public, and Magic suspected IT was spreading rumors about his sexuality. In the 1992 olympics dream team, magic made sure Isaiah was kept off the team, and he openly admitted it in his autobiography "when the games was ours" published in 2009. And this interview was the first time after all those years of conflicts where these two men sat down face to face resolving the whole situation, and this speaks volume, life is too short for some petty ego shits.

The Pistons did, but you forgot to mention that Byron Scott(starter) was injured and didn't play the entire series. Magic only played in Game 1 and less than 3 quarters in Game 2 due to a hamstring injury. If the roles were reversed and Dumars didn't play and Isiah played the same amount as Magic, the Lakers would have won just as easily as the Pistons did.

I idolized Magic growing up. I've watched this relationship disintegrate over a 3 year period, culminating with Magic helping MJ keep Isiah off the Dream Team. To see it come full circle after so long, I shed a tear. One, because 12 year old me who cried like a baby when Magic had to retire still can't believe he's alive but WELL when many of us thought he'd probably be dead by the mid 90's tops. Two, people really don't know how tight Magic and Isiah were. And brothers shouldn't ever fall out that long, blood or not. They're brothers and it just brought the kid in me out to see them reconcile. Never too late to make things right with the ones you love y'all.

    • @elizabethtimothy4776

Spot on! The last part, never too late to make things right. It could have been too late for either of these two if one or both had died, for what? sport?ignorance? , then that regret taken to the grave. It is a lesson all of us young or old, nothing is worth hating or hurting other people for, and whoever we have hurt in words or deed, we should humble ourselves, forgive the person and let peace and love reign.

Incredibly powerful. Every boy turning to a man should be shown clips like this to show that emotion and strife isn’t weakness and your brother is always your brother no matter how high or low you go. Oms

I'm not afraid to admit that I cried watching this. Coming from a Celtics fan who dispised these two. In the end these two are going down as one of the greatest ever. They don't make em like they used too

Wow, the tears Isiah shed at 0:49 were so heartbreaking. Whatever happened between him and Magic, it must have hurt him deeply, because you don't cry like that over "just a buddy" not talking to you anymore.

My dads favorite player Isiah Thomas every since being drafted. Him growing up seeing this two going at it with each other to now this he told me that they were brothers to each other. I come to every now and then just to hear and see this two going back to each other with Thomas's "I'm still mad that you beat me" gets me everytime

We all have that one friend who we never forget but hard to forgive. Then that day comes when face to face and at that moment the pain and resentment go away... glad these brothers finally reconciled
