I bumped into an old friend on Monday and said exactly the same, I really miss roker Park, in my opinion it was far better than the stadium of light,, I spent many happy years there,,great times...
@@TEN... I wish they could of kept it and used it for training and reserve team, would of been nice for the fans to be able to visit and for the kids that never got to see it like my daughters , they,ve only seen the sol. It was a proper ! Old football ground , times change though I suppose.
@@venustus129 your dead rite times change but I wish I could turn the clock back and stand in the fullwell every fortnight and be entertained off Stan Cummings, Gary Rowell and everyone else,, Don Goodman was a big favourite of mine, also Howard gayle,,I loved the way he told them to shove his M.B.E up there arse ..
The Roker End was completely unique, the way it was built up on top of a framework of concrete struts. It was quite a spectacle when you saw it from outside the ground. There was no other terrace in the country like it. All the other terraces were laid on top of earth banks.
Sunderland AFC really are a sleeping giant. With a catchment area of south bank of Tyne, the City of Sunderland and the county of Durham the sky is the limit.
I miss the old ground. Loved roker park. Some great memories.
