The 1060, 1070 and 1080 cards are great arguments for why you should never just go for the "cheapest" GPU but instead get at least a mid-tier one. You can't future proof forever, but people that got a 1060 back in the day can still game at reasonable framerates in most situations now.
Well, not necessarily ;) Fact is, in modern times games are mostly made for consoles, and consoles also have x86 architecture. To see is your GPU (and whole system) "future proof" compare it with current generation of consoles, and check if next generation of consoles is coming up. In this case, 1060 would be viable as long games for PS4 are made, but as things move to PS5 it will begin to struggle (1080p low, or 720p gaming)

i3-10100f with h410 has more sense than g7400, although it would not use full potential of 6400 due to PCIe 3.0 . But for a budget gaming 1080p low-med it is ok.

The 1060 6gb is great for people like me because I can't tell if my frame rate drops to 24 fps half the time. And I cant really tell the difference in graphics unless it's under 480p. Very nice gpu even today. (I mostly got it for vr gaming anyway)

I'm pretty sure the 1060 6GB is better than the 1650 super for most games. It probably depends on the model you have though. The 1060 6GB should be just a bit slower than a 1660

Dying light 2 deserves a spot on the benchmark list.
Que genial video, muchas gracias por compartir sus conocimientos, muchos éxitos
I have this gpu paired with Ryzen 5 1600. Always game at 1440p 165hz and just let it do its thing. Pretty much runs 95 percent of todays games beautifully. Obviously not all ganes go to 165 but majority are 80fps + for the most part. If i wish to play any of the teal heavy hitters i just jump on ps5 its no biggy.
an r9 390x it has a similar price and i'm pretty sure it performs similar
The 1650 with 4GB gddr6 over clocked is the best for the value.
Whats the performance difference between the gtx 1050 non ti and the gtx 1060?
It’s quite a noticeable difference
@@brodem5597 is the extra money worth because im building a pc atm and i was thinking of getting thr gtx 1050 :)

Will never regret buying this card for 30 dollars used
I bought a pc with a gtx 1060 graphic card and im glad to know its still a good card so i dont have to buy a better graphic card
You should if you could. If not it's fine for now yes. Next year or 2 you might be crying for help.
@@stevenmetz5363 crying for help wdym? Not everyone plays the latest triple a games. If you're using it for school, gaming on older triple a games, and work, then it's fine. The gpu market is down in my place, and I might upgrade in a year.
@@pullin9722 I bought a 1060 6gb 3 weeks ago and am already upgrading. It plays fortnite and apex fine but if the game gets anymore serious forget it. It's a great budget card but as you stated forget about AAA titles.
@@stevenmetz5363 true, I bought a pc with it for 500 bucks. It has an i7 8th gen, a gtx 1060 6gb, a 760 watt power supply, 8gb ram, a monitor, and a keyboard and mouse. I got a pretty good deal, but yeah if you're planning to game on newer triple a titles, it's advised that you upgrade.
@@pullin9722 pretty solid deal. My buddy gifted me a ddr4 board with an i5 7400. I bought a power supply for 65 an hdd for 50 ram for 55 that's 170 right there and another 180 for my 1060 6gb. 350 for mine and half of it was gifted. Nice find brother.
I feel like most people go for the 60 series these days, you can tell by the hardware survey: 1060, 2060 and now 3060 is starting to climb. Why not revisit the venerable 2060 and see how it's doing?
The 1060 6gb is great for people like me because I can't tell if my frame rate drops to 24 fps half the time. And I cant really tell the difference in graphics unless it's under 480p. Very nice gpu even today. (I mostly got it for vr gaming anyway)
Well if you want to get more fps try downgrading the drivers of gpu because Nvidia nerfed the gtx 1060 with the new drivers, at least try to go for drivers like 1 year ago or more to get better fps, I was getting 40-90fps in apex now I get 100+ almost all the time .
Bought one for like 75-80 to upgrade from my 950 as 950 wasn’t enough for my games and videos
Its nice to see my pc is same as your test pc😀
I'm pretty sure the 1060 6GB is better than the 1650 super for most games. It probably depends on the model you have though. The 1060 6GB should be just a bit slower than a 1660
rx 570 with 4th gen i7 would be cool
I’ve owned since release it smashes till this day
The 1060 6gb is a fucking beast, had mine since release in 2016, shit steal eats everything I throw at it, on medium to ultra settings, I do have a ryzen 7 2700x running at 4 ghz so it might pick up some slack but, but moral of the story is the 1060 6gb deserves a fucking frame on my wall shit watched me grow a beard, graduate high school, and become an adult, and it’s still going STRONG, it’s a pretty fucking damn good card in my book
Also for 1060 non believers, I’m an IT pro, most AAA games simply haven’t graphically progressed enough to warrant spending a shit ton of money on a new card, unless you want ray tracing the pascal cards will definitely still be pretty solid for another 1-2 years
@@romanretake thank you
I still use a GTX 1070 on 3440x1440 at 100hz. It still good for my usage.
I have a 1070ti. If you test one of those that would be great.
Hello, I recently also had an Asus z97 pro wifi ac with Xeon E3 1230 V3 (BCLK106,3=3930mhz All Core) 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix 1866mhz on 2125mhz OC + KFA2 GTX1060 OC 6gb a total of 150 euros with power supply but without SSD or hard drive. That will be then my second PC actually I only wanted the graphics card but 70 for gpu and the rest 40 euros more because I couldn't say no
I would love to see a 1050 4gb card review or comparison to the 1650 since both have similar specs but the 1050 is quite a bit cheaper
1050 ti is 25-35 % slower than 1650, regular 1050 is simply not worth it.

This is kinda a dumb question but and you pair a 1060 6g with a amd ryzen 5800x...
got a windforce oc 6gb 1060 and at around medium settings with mas v ram on details im getting 150fps anywhere outside of fragment
installed 1060 card and now no sound????
and here i am i gave away my geforce 1060 6 gig to my brother 4 years ago cos i upgraded, and a month ago i replaced my gtx 1080 with a rtx 3080....am i moving to fast for the games or are the games moving too slow for me?
As long as PS4 remains relevant, 1060 would run newest games at 1080p medium.
I use my 1060 6gb to power my 4080 GFN Ultimate subscription lol.
Is a i5 9600k 1060 6gb 16 gb of ddr4 ram worth 270? It's a whole working pc I'm not sure if that's a deal.

Hi Toasty Bros, can I run two 4K monitors + one 5120x2160 monitors all at 60Hz with a GTX 1600 (6G version)? I am just using them to do regular stuff like watching videos, no serious gaming.
I'd like to see 2 rx580 8gb system test if you guys could try it I'm considering doing that to up my game.
Yo TB’s - what should I be paying for a used 1660ti 6g? And how would it match my i5 4670k and 16g ram? Cheers

1060 6gb cards are going for less than 130 on FB marketplace right now
I wonder how that GPU would perform alongside my FX8320.
Can this work in an optiplex?
Why does my 1060 only get 30 fps. I have 16 ram and 6 core cpu
love you guys
can you do a GTX 1050TI 4GB with that build?
I'm looking at upgrading my gpu. Currently, I'm running an 5600g with 16gb ram, and rx 480 4gb. Is the 1060 6gb a better gpu, or should I get a different card?
It is pretty similar, if you want to upgrade go for something a bit more powerful
Picked up pc with 1060 rog swap it out for 1080 ti soon
What could i upgrade the 1060 to? Its really starting to get lower fps now
Ideally if your budget is around $100 a 1070ti and if that's not enough I'd go for the 2080ti for about $300. I dont think the 1080ti is worth $200 compared to the other options I mentioned.
