This video has taught me something. I've been crocheting for 10 years and I love it but I always hated hated sewing the stuff together. I used to live with a little English woman and when we'd sit and work together I'd make the deal with her that I'd do the crochet and she's put it all together bc it was either so messy or it would fall off too easily. Used your techniques on my Hermione doll I made yesterday and so much better than the dobby I had made the day before. I'd attach photo if I knew how
I've been making amigurumi for awhile now but tend to avoid ones with lots of sewing since that's my weakest skill. This was very helpful and will improve my sewing skills. Thanks so much.
I feel your pain about avoiding having to sew pieces on! And a good pattern should tell you which rows the pieces should be sewn onto, so that makes it harder when they don't. But it will definitely limit what you can make if you avoid sewing completely, so I'm glad my video made the sewing part easier for you! Mine used to always look sloppy compared to the pattern until I learned this :)
Thank you sooo much for making this video. I've been struggling with sewing together my amigurumi. It always looked super bulky. This fixed my problem.
Thank you so much! I have been looking for a technique for sewing! I love that you method uses consistent steps that are easy to do! I will try this on my next amigurumi project!
Maybe don’t do music the whole time it’s sort of distracting but thank you for the tutorial! I was struggling with joining pieces and this gave me a visual of a better way to do it :)!
I use waste yarn to mark the centre front back and both sides of the head, starting while relatively flat. This can stay in, and won't poke you. I leave waste yarn markers in until the toy is finished, in case I have to re-adjust. I usually put ears just behind the side markers, and count how many rounds down as well. You may find 8 rather than 9 rounds down will keep your curve a little better. I also check the number of stitches back from the eyes. I sew bits on twice so they won't come off, I allow 4× seam length and 4cm or 11/2 inches for leave sewing tail (LST). I start with whip stitch, and the second time around I do ladder stitch. All the best.
I just wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER! My amigurumi was looking crazy where I was sewing things on, I'm still new so I didn't exactly know there was a "correct" way, if you will 🤣 my work looks so professional with this little bit of help so for that I thank you sincerely. ❤️😊

I just tie a knot around the last stitch I went through then weave it into the doll in different directions. I always go in and out the same hole when hiding the tail so it never shows. Let me show you another video I did that shows this technique too
