Imagine focusing your whole life on one thing and getting so far, only to come across a freak of nature, completely impossible to even compete against. What a strong character Tyson is. After suffering an utter tragedy, then going onto set your all time PB and becoming the fastest man in American history, but still losing by such a humiliating margin must of been debilitating.
Heard some people stopped training and went to take their talent elsewhere when they saw what usain did on 2008 and 2009. Ngl I would’ve done same, the dude is top 5 most gifted athletes and a freak in all sense. He’s confident and Superhuman, he’s built for sprinting. He feeds off the hype and energy of the crowd so the pressure don’t affect him and he genuinely had a good circle of family, friends, manager and coaches. He was in a league of his own. I feel sorry for Tyson as well
one thing about Tyson and Even gatlin, is that not even these guys are sour about losing the entire time vs Usain. they speak with great respect about him and honestly i respect that from them as i know it must be a hard pill to swallow knowing your chances are less to none to beat this guy. not like other sports where you can use tactics and outsmart someone. it comes down to speed in the end.

He was the perfect model of the Great American Sprinter: Fast, humble, respectable, a role model for the future generations of sprinters. he even gained the respect of his Jamaican rivals and Jamaican public. then Tyson disgraces his name by doping. he could've easily run faster than 9.58 seconds if his start was better. his top end speed is on par with Usain Bolt's. Now he's saying that he shouldn't be described as a drug cheat when he knew what he did
