Those Amaryllis!!!!! 😍 I got my first bulbs almost 3 weeks ago and I can't wait to see them bloom. I got a Minerva an Apple Blossom and a Red Lion at a very affordable price. I wasn't sure about the quality of the bulb since they were on the smaller side and started to sprout inside their boxes in the dark. They were on clearance so I decided to give them a try any way. The Minerva is an over achiever 😄 with a flower stalk about 8 inches tall already! The Apple Blossom flower stalk is about 3 inches tall. So far the Red Lion is producing leaves only. That is ok. I will still give it some TLC. I am learning a lot about this amazing plants and cant wait to take care of them year after year. Seeing something grow so fast and seeing the flower stalks grow smack in the middle of winter is helping me endure this long winters here in Massachusetts. I love your videos. I have learned so much from them! 💕
Update. I have revived my sprayer and absolutely LOVE it! I actually prefer it using the spray extender. Also I like how much power is available. It charges quickly too. I will not miss the pump mister. What a relief for my hands. Thank you Yulia!
You are so sweet, funny and cute, Yuliya 🥰 Invaluable info as always, Thank You!! I only wish I had the extra room with windows for proper lighting to have the living garden throughout winter. It's definitely a saving grace! Mishka is so adorable 🤗 Hugs, dear
I love my pro-plugger too. I also had an issue with the dirt getting stuck. My solution is to just turn it upside down and bang on it a few times with a rubber mallet. The mallet clears the dirt every time!!! Don’t use a hammer though, it does not work. A hammer just puts dings in the metal while the dirt stays stuck.
Thanks for all the tips. I planted last years' amaryllis in pots outside this summer. I brought them inside in the fall and they are blooming now. No digging up, no enforced darkness. A new one I tried this year is Double Ice Queen. Absolutely gorgeous! Frilly white double blooms with a green throat.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, I learned so much. I’m definitely going to plant my amaryllis outside this summer. I have had some luck getting mine to rebloom in the past but for the last two years have had no luck at all but I haven’t given up on them. Thank you so much for sharing this info, you’re the best! ❤️ all your videos, huge fan 🙂
Thanks for this video. I have spring fever already and I’m zone 4 so I have to wait a while still before spring. Thank you for sharing about those beautiful pots as well.
Thank you so much for talking about gnat fungus! My violas are infested with them. I did more research on them and now I understand what I did wrong! What a relief to know what was happening!
Thank you for the information on the amaryllis. I have that exact same one that you water propagated. It's my first time having an amaryllis. My Amaryllis finished blooming back in November and now it only has leaves. I was wondering if I was supposed to cut the leaves off and put it into dormancy now. But thank God I watched your video first. I am also in New Jersey. South Jersey. And this is my first year gardening. Thank you again!
Thank you, Yulia. Now I know why my two amaryllis bulbs didn't rebloom. My Viola seeds are in a stack of packets I'm thinking of sprouting - thanks for the tips.👍
I loved hanging out with you today! Your very cheerful and sunny room made me look forward to Spring. As always, I always learn so much from watching you. Your baby is beyond adorable.❤️
This is first time I have a reblooming amaryllis. I did the same method-planted outdoors in summer. Enjoyed this video Yuliya. And you puppy OMG how cute!!!!
Omg I didn't know electric sprayers existed. I have diagnosed carpal tunnel and I haaaaate spraying. I bought a proplugger recently thanks to your video. excited to see your seedlings grow
I remember when you claimed that area for your seed starts. 😀. How interesting. You forgot about the Hyacinths in the container and brought them in from the garage and they bloomed. I will have to try that. My Amaryllis get that outside care in the summer but only one (my newest one) bloomed. I may need new ones. Thanks for sharing.
Wow , I appreciate you so much Y. ☺️ You just let me know how to save a $24 bulb amaryllis. I too will be planting them outside in summer. I had no idea I could start my violas NOW. Will these last indoors in time for them to be planted out in 6 zone? The first video of yours I saw of you was no till garden bed you added to. I had never seen it before, but your method proven so helpful. At first I said oh no she didn’t just do that haha, So helpful. Can you show us your beautiful house, it looks from the 1920,s. I have a 1909 house and I love old houses. I planted elephant ears this year in your honor. Thanks for all you do and share. P. S. I would also love to know from your experience what is a signature garden touch you have , 😇 3 pots a year, great Idea!!!
Yes, start violas now and plant them out as soon as the weather is nice. I will plant mine out end of March even a little frost is ok. our house is 1929 - beautiful and needs a lot of TLC 😆
Yuliya thank you so much for showing us your new sprayer. I suffer from severe arthritis in my hands as well as trigger finger. It took me 20 min this morning just to get my trigger finger to release. This sprayer is awesome! Does the nozzle by chance have different settings? Or is it a set spray? I have been watching your channel for a while and I absolutely love your garden. God bless
This year I crossed my white amaryllis with an appleblossom just for fun. The seed heads are really pretty. Even though the flowers are gone, there are 4 branches at the top of the stem with 4 large 3 lobed seed heads. They kind of look like giant nastertium seed heads about 1 1/2 wide and still growing. Oh, and your dog is the best!!! I was cracking up! So cute!
Your Amaryllis are gorgeous, I planted one maybe 3 weeks before Christmas, it's crazy full of foliage, but never one bloom. I'm trying winter sowing too, I know you've had great success with that. My plan is to make soil blocks and use the big plastic lettuce containers I've been saving. Fingers crossed I can the just plant the block right out.
Love your sunroom! So nice to have the plants where you can truely learn and enjoy so easily! I have a lot of amarylis thos year i got from walmart clearance. I get them for my January birthday every year and they bloom pretty much on before or the week of. This years extra special. I got a tinkerbell. So neglected but one bloom bud popping up and soon the second and third. One bloom stalk isnt even open and the other two have produced 14 blooms
Another fun and informative video! My first lisianthus sprouted in 8 days but I still am using the heat mat and cover because there are more to come. I do mist them every day and they are under lights. The amaryllis are blooming and I have more which should be blooming in February. I also potted about 70 hyacinths ( great sale in December here) into big pots currently in the garage. I hope to take them outside in February here in southern Wisconsin.
Thank you, Yulia I did learn a lot. I was wondering why I couldn’t get my Amaryllis to rebloom. Unfortunately I just have leaves. I will either need to try your method or buy new ones 😊
Nice video. The space between your kitchen and dinning room is referred to as a butlers pantry. The place where the butler plated the meals before bringing them to the table. Also where they stored the table linens and silverware, silver tea set, etc. Love the space.
Lovely video! I'm still a beginner gardener so I love how simple your videos are for me. Can you tell us more about your plant room please ? Is it a greenhouse attached to the house ? How big is it ? Thank you 🙏🙏
So much helpful info, Yuliya! My hands get so tired from a sprayer, I might get one like that. You really inspire me to try new things in the garden! I’m still enjoying the pots of wintergreen with chartreuse evergreens & pinecones by my front door that I put together from your video. ❤️
I love your plant room! This video is very informative, thank you:-) The spray bottle is amazing. I have one of the same size but the one that you pump. I want a dog too:-)
Arctic Star amaryllis is a double white one that is very short. I have 19 pots of amaryllis that I have been accumulating for years. I take them outside in the summer in their pots. I let them go dormant
I'm starting violas from seed for the first time so I can get the color I want. Thanks for the tips on starting them! Also, I purchased an amaryllis from a big box store and it only grew leaves.(?!) So since I'm in a zone 6 like you I will plant them outside at the end of Mayand see if I can get it to bloom next winter.
Wow. I love your video! Thank you for showing your new water sprayer and gardening gadgets. Love them! Could you share the information about where you got them?
I am so glad you planted your viola seeds, I am getting ready to start mine and am glad you mentioned about needing dark! I have an Amaryllis bulb I bought this year and it bloomed beautifully but the bulb is not nearly as big as yours are! I will have to try and grow it in the garden and see how it does! Love your channel!
Very interesting content, thank you for that. I recently read that you can actually get the amaryllis to rebloom for the second time. The rule is to let them grow the leaves and water and fertilize them for 2 months and than force them to dormancy once again for 4-6 weeks. I was so excited to read that and definitely will try that!!!
Love your videos. Great reviews on products. Great tips on germination and forcing bulbs. Some light hearted digs at dishes for parties (same here). And a cute puppy. What more can one ask for. Thanks.
Thank you for the amaryllis info. A couple of questions: do you cut off the green leaves and roots after they dry, and do you refrigerate the bulbs until you're ready to pot them up? I read that they need a cold climate to flower. California doesn't get cold in the fall.
This video couldn’t’t have been more perfect for me! I also have a container of Hyacinth’s that have been on my porch since last Spring. I also forgot about them. I just brought them in the house a few days ago. I placed them in a low sunny window. Is that a good place? Besides keeping them watered, what else should I do for them and when should I plant them in the ground?
Great video!! loved seeing all your new gadgets. With the heat mat, do you need to use the thermostat that some of them come with? Or do you not use that and just plug the heat mat in and let it get to whatever temperature it gets to?
You can actually just sink the amaryllis in their pots in the ground, saving yourself the repotting in the fall. I have done that, and at other times, just left pots off to the side in the garden, and they all rebloom. Doing Jersey right!!
Thanks so much for all this helpful information. I bought lisianthus from Johnny's seeds and it suggested to use rootshield but that product is no longer available in 4 oz and larger amounts are pretty expensive. Johnny's suggested that I sterilize the seed starting mix (either in microwave, boiled water, oven). Just wondering if you have ever done this. I love lisianthus but they can be difficult.
Wonderful video, full of great information as always. I do have a question about the heat mat. Do you keep it plugged in until the seeds are germinating or just for the day like 8 to 10 hours. I would appreciate your time to answer my question.
Great tips Yulia! Thank you. I do, however have a question about amaryllis . This is my first time growing them. One of my store bought bulbs have no flowers at all. Only long strap-like leaves. Please let me know what to do at this point. Thanks again!
this happened to three (!) store bought bulbs this year. all leaves, no flowers. you can put them now on a sunny windowsill, wait until summer to plant out, fertilize and hope you will have flowers next year.
I have a low tech sprayer that’s about the same size. I think mine is about a half gallon or so. It has a small plunger you pump and then you just hold the trigger or lock it and it sprays. It’s wonderful, I can’t handle traditional spray bottles either. For fungus gnats I’ve had great success using Bt(I) and old school fly strips. Not cute by any means 😆 but they work great and trap a ton. Can’t wait to hear about the “new and improved” Pro Plugger! Mine gets stuck all the time. Question: are micro greens basically the same thing as “sprouts” grown in water in a special glass jar on the countertop? And do you cut them to harvest or wash soil off the roots?
yes, pretty much. there is soooo much information out there on how to grow them. some people use coco coir, paper towels, hemp mats, etc. I just plant in organic soil - more nutrients that way.
The look on your face when you used the sprayer for the first time was priceless.
😁😁😆
54 days till spring !!! ⚘🌱🌷
OMG, the face on that puppy, his eyes!, adorable I need one of those sprayers, very nice.
ohhhh that electric sprayer is soooooo cool!!!
Those Amaryllis!!!!! 😍 I got my first bulbs almost 3 weeks ago and I can't wait to see them bloom. I got a Minerva an Apple Blossom and a Red Lion at a very affordable price. Such a nice, informational video. Thanks so much and I just love, love your dog!!
Great tips as we're getting excited and geared up for this season!
You are so sweet, funny and cute, Yuliya 🥰 Invaluable info as always, Thank You!!

21:14 Mr White :) thanks for the giggle!
Mr. White is a legend 😂😂
You were like a kid in a candy store with all your new goodies. Looking forward to seeing the seedlings come up.

Wow that too is a good idea.
"OK, I fetched Mr. White, but you can't have him!" Lol!
right 😂
you need a time stamp for the doggie cuteness! i love your delight at the new sprayer, and all of the useful information : )
Done!
So loved this video but ur adorable doggie stole the show.. so precious
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, I learned so much. I’m definitely going to plant my amaryllis outside this summer. thank you
great video for a cold January day, thanks for all the inspiration
You have got an excellent sprayer going to make your job easy
I LOVED all the things you showed us in this video!!!!
😊😊
Thank you so much for talking about gnat fungus! My violas are infested with them. I did more research on them and now I understand what I did wrong! What a relief to know what was happening!
Mishka is so much fun, adorable pop made me laugh. Thank you Julia for all you do, I rewatch your videos many times, you are such an inspiration!
😊 thank you
Thank you Yulia I’ve learned so much by you sharing your knowledge with us 🧤👒🐨🦘🇦🇺Karen from Australia 😎😍
Thank you so much Karen!
Laura on Garden Answer uses them all the time. She love them. I'll have to get some too

Love you sunroom!
I have smaller electric sprayer that I love.. Now I want the larger one for outdoor use. I usually cut the yellow stickers in half for usage.
Your excitement for the new sprayer made my day!! I needed the cheering up. What a beautiful dog 💕
thank you!
I like the electric sprayer, but I wish it came with extra nozzles in case they get clogged. Your sunroom is amazing!
it had a longer nozzle I think it is pretty good, but I can only judge after months of use. will keep you updated
Just bought the same mister and had the same reaction! Lol Game changer! 🙌
Right?!
Thank you, Yulia. Now I know why my two amaryllis bulbs didn't rebloom. My Viola seeds are in a stack of packets I'm thinking of sprouting - thanks for the tips.👍
Cute doggie!
Enjoyed video such great info every time I watch I pick up something new. Thanks!

This was so helpful!!! It showed up just when I was looking for info on amaryllis! Learned so much.
Love this video yulia ❤️😊
So interesting as usual, Yuliya! The amaryllis info is just what I needed.
Videos like this are EXACTLY what I need this time of year. Thank you for this helpful content, Yuliya. SO valuable! 🌻💕
So glad! 🙂 😀
Love that plant room and your adorable pup! 💗
Thank you for sharing 😀
Hi, I just came up on your channel! Your plant room is so amazing!❤ You are smart and creative, love what you doing ❤😊
Great video! LOVE your pup!!!!! I am ordering your electric sprayer. Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you, Yulia I did learn a lot. I was wondering why I couldn’t get my Amaryllis to rebloom. Unfortunately I just have leaves. I will either need to try your method or buy new ones 😊
You are DARLING 👍

Nice video. The space between your kitchen and dinning room is referred to as a butlers pantry. The place where the butler plated the meals before bringing them to the table. Also where they stored the table linens and silverware, silver tea set, etc. Love the space.

Your seed starting area was the original “butler’s pantry” for the house😁
So much helpful info, Yuliya! My hands get so tired from a sprayer, I might get one like that. You really inspire me to try new things in the garden! I’m still enjoying the pots of wintergreen with chartreuse evergreens & pinecones by my front door that I put together from your video. ❤️

Glad you enjoyed it! 😊

Beautiful plant spray, looks very practical. Thanks for the tips on Amaryllis and sowing violas🙂
Loved the hyacinths. 👍
Thanks for the info🥰🥰🥰

All links are in the description 😊😊
I am so glad you planted your viola seeds, I am getting ready to start mine and am glad you mentioned about needing dark!
I have an Amaryllis bulb I bought this year and it bloomed beautifully but the bulb is not nearly as big as yours are! I will have to try and grow it in the garden and see how it does! Love your channel!

dang I need a deal on that sprayer!! I miss the Amazon codes before covid.
Very interesting content, thank you for that. I recently read that you can actually get the amaryllis to rebloom for the second time. I have had mine rebloom for years by planting them out in the garden in summer
Enjoyed watching this video, will have to try the amaryllis tip I can never get mine to rebloom! also love your dog he is so cute!!
Thanks for watching!
Love your videos. Great reviews on products. Great tips on germination and forcing bulbs. Some light hearted digs at dishes for parties (same here). And a cute puppy. What more can one ask for. Thanks.
😊😁
Thank you for the amaryllis info. A couple of questions: do you cut off the green leaves and roots after they dry, and do you refrigerate the bulbs until you're ready to pot them up? I read that they need a cold climate to flower. California doesn't get cold in the fall.

Yes! make sure they receive lots of light so they are not stretching out
❤️MISHA
I love the idea of planting the amaryllis bulb outside. I think that will help the baby bulb to grow better. What do you think?
Yes, I plant the little bulbs outside too
Great video, such helpful info! No wonder I've always had trouble getting viola seeds to germinate.
❤️
Hi Yuliya. Greetings from Manitoba. Could you please make a video when you plant the amaryllis outdoors.
I will!
Great video!! loved seeing all your new gadgets. With the heat mat, do you need to use the thermostat that some of them come with? Or do you not use that and just plug the heat mat in and let it get to whatever temperature it gets to?
I just leave it on all the time, it raises temps by 10-15 degrees which is perfect for most heat loving seeds to germ 😊
👏👏👏👏
You can actually just sink the amaryllis in their pots in the ground, saving yourself the repotting in the fall. I have done that, and at other times, just left pots off to the side in the garden, and they all rebloom. Doing Jersey right!!

first time growing them, will see. so far nothing
Very informative! Love your sunroom. Are the Berg’s pots sold in the US?
Yes they are!
Wonderful video, full of great information as always. I do have a question about the heat mat. Do you keep it plugged in until the seeds are germinating or just for the day like 8 to 10 hours. I would appreciate your time to answer my question.
I keep it on all the time 😊
Great tips Yulia! Thank you. I do, however have a question about amaryllis . This is my first time growing them. One of my store bought bulbs have no flowers at all. Only long strap-like leaves. Please let me know what to do at this point. Thanks again!

Юля, я очень сегодня радуюсь, у меня переводит айпад на русский все добрые комментарии в твой адрес, мне это очень приятно читать, мама.
ой как классно мамуль! 😀 😃 🥰
Do you have a video on how you winterize your Coleus (15:53)? Thanks.
I made two: ua-cam.com/video/Qjtu3ciUhjQ/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/PCMov8z4Zpw/v-deo.html
Everything looks beautiful Yuliya! Are the under cabinet lights grow lights? Or just under cabinet lights?
Yes, you can use these as grow lights.
Hi Yulia, are the berg pots with the hellebores, medium or large size pots? Thanks!
medium 😊😊
please use persion intrasla😍🤗😊te too
Love your channel! Can anyone suggest a reputable fruit tree/bush supplier for zone 7? I haven't had much luck in the last few years.
Thank you! any retail nursery that use Schimt. Here is their website.
