I actually did like sonic unleashed and I didn’t mind the werehog levels just the last few were really really long for me (or it could have just been me wanting it the levels to end lol) I appreciate they tried something new I just couldn’t stay invested in the werehog levels later into the game.
Has someone who never played the console version of Generations, I am looking forward to experiencing it for the first time this fall: that, and being able to play as Shadow is a nice bonus😎

But there are flaws, like more Potential Levels and Bosses, Big, E-123 Omega, Omochao, and the Flickys weren’t at the Party, Planet Wisp doesn’t feel like Planet Wisp from the Wii anymore, Sonic CD got a Boss but not a Level, Most Sonic Games have only 1 Song, The Final Boss is underwhelming, and so is the 3DS Version.
Play this game on modern pc and it is amazing, play it on a console from it's era and you will be dissapointed. When I got it for PC at the time it rain in 1080p 60fps for me so I could never understand why people were so dissapointed in it. I have read reviews of this game later donw the line where the console version was held back by terrible frame drops, 720p resolution and 30 fps.
The only sonic game I’ve ever owned and beat. Came with my ps3 and beat it three times. This is the only sonic game for me, don’t like any others and I’m content to watch sonic from the sidelines as the franchise continues to grow.

The announcement made me sigh And I am currently in a shadow the hedgehog phase too Like this should be made for me And I just wanted something not rehashed Hell if it’s alternate universes now, give us classic shadow and make it a whole thing We can already play sonic generations.. Hell, bundle and remake and expand the advance trilogy
I would've really loved dlc for this game where you get to play as shadow and the others. There's a couple mods these days for something similar, but I hear they're really buggy and cause crashes. Anyway, all in all this may just be my favorite sonic game and I've been with it from the beginning. Sega genesis was my first console and sonic was my first game so I don't say that lightly.

My only major problem with this game is the final boss, the Time Eater. One of the worst bosses in Sonic history, IMO. Plus, it need more playable characters besides just Sonic. Then again, this came out during the time all Sonic games were Sonic-only.
Short answer no it’s not. Unleashed day stages are way better. I really think you should replay Unleashed with your new knowledge of the game (especially for Werehog. So much better on second playthrough and onwards). How you don’t place the story amongst the best of the bunch truly baffles me lol regardless I still love your content
i love it but going back to it and re playing it, i actually cannot believe how horrid the turning is and how selective the homing is. other than that its still gens so its a classic
kind of unrelated but taking the battle music out of unleashed in a potential remake would make battles feel uneventful, what they really should do is get back in the stu and cook up some new battle music for each country! it always baffled me that no matter where you go on this globe trotting adventure, every fight is just big jazz band

I can't believe they made a Sonic game with running stages and beat'em up stages and didn't add KNUCKLES! He's right there, it could have been Sonic & Knuckles... But it's always the Sonic show.

Completely oblivious to the fact that instead of replacing the Werehog, you could have both the Werehog and Knuckles, but hey, read the Sonic Archie comics if you want to see Knuckles fighting alongside the Werehog.
It is really good, but it's cheating by being a "best of". The best original 3D Sonic is Colors imo followed by Unleashed (the part that brings it down for me is the ridiculous medal requirement to unlock the last levels, not the Werehog).
I don't like Generations. The game is short, I only like the 3d levels cutting a short game in half for me. And Generations is still the era of terrible writing both story wise and dialogue. I think it's the most overrated Sonic game out there. It's not bad, but... it's definitely not good. Some of the 3D levels are somewhat good, most aren't and they still aren't as good as the levels they're based on. The 2D levels are just pretty bad. And the controls and physics of both are just poor. Incredibly poor for the 2D sections and levels, but still no good for the 3D sections/levels.
I remember generations being mediocre as hell. I was also an adult when it came out, so there’s that too. Lots of younger folks liked it due to childhood nostalgia.
