Storm threat inspires record elderberry harvest - 40 lbs!

We had visions of our crops leveled by a 60 mph wall of wind or softball sized hail pulverizing our berries and figs. We decided to do the best we could today to get whatever was ripe harvested and we ended with a record 40 lbs of elderberries and 6.5 lbs of Lattarula honey figs! In the end, Mechanicsville slipped through a hole in the line of storms and we are forever grateful that our farm lives to see another day. But others were not so lucky and our hearts and prayers go out to them. Forever Foods Farm. August 7, 2023
