My old neighbor used to have a blue 69 GTX 440 4 speed. I used to use it for my alarm clock to get up for work because he always left for work at the time I had to wake up for work and that car could be heard for 2 blocks so there was no chance of oversleeping.
Oh Yeah Lou, you nailed it again. This 1968 Hemi GTX 4 speed is actually in my top 5 dream cars. I definitely have to work on that! Just loved that 'chirp' of the tires when you were taking off, NICE! That ALWAYS gets me going in the morning with my coffee. Thanks Lou.

I was in 9th grade in junior high school in the 68 model year. Their was a house on my way to school that had a GTX in the driveway exactly like this one in the video. Glad to see this video!

I wondered about that when Eugene said the car entered Canada through Quebec. Most Mopars of this quality do get the "once over" by nick and his crew at some point.
My first car at 17 years old was a 1968 Olds 98 with the Rocket 455 4bbl and it did the same exact thing trying to start it when it was warm. It just wouldn't crank fast enough to start so I learned a cool trick. Just pump the gas 5-10 times to slightly flood the engine and for some reason when I did that I got a full crank out of it and it would then start. Them old cars sure do have some personality to them!!

My dad had a B-5 blue 68 GTX in that same year with the 4 spd , consol , bucket seats 440 cu in , and it was the most fun I ever had as a child riding in that car , my dad had no filters , ex 82 ND airborne pararatroper / ranger , so the ride was death defying at times . I bet the hemi is even better . Thanks

Great find Lou... I had thee twin and sold it in 89 to guy in union ill. He raced it at union grove in wis. Ran 12;20s with slicks..He still has it and is mulling over sling it back to me.. I remember seeing a 1968 GTX Hemi on the lot when my parents were picking out a new 1968 Fury III hardtop sedan. Oh, boy! All go, push on the brake pedal and pray! Tell the guy to oil his door hinges!
My 69' Road Runner was manual brakes with drums all around. Back then many never even thought about power brakes. I did have Power steering though. This was the same exact color as my car without the Vinyl Top.

Priceless exceptionally nice car I would not restore it. Car was ordered to go fast. I might have to upgrade the steering and brakes. That’s a heavy motor to have to manhandle around town. I’d have to see at 74 years old. I might have to see the need to make those changes.😂❤
The fender VIN plate. has screws attaching it. These were originally riveted on from the factory. I worked at a speed shop in Pensacola and if we saw a fender badge that had screws we called the police to verify it wasn't stolen.

I have seen screws used before but with the screws are spot welds. Any car with screws only is a red flag and illegal to remove them, at least in my time it was. lucky you didnt have a mile straighaway. scarry beast. that green looks like f6 dark green mettalic. nothing like a 4 speed new process and probably 3.54 gears. grab a gear hang on then stand on the brakes so to speak. awesome animal.

I had that engine in my 69 dodge coronet 500 I think it was one of three it was the coolest car teal with a black top and flat black rocker panels with chrome above it and then on the three tail lights in the back it had flat black it was wicked my speedometer went up to 160 but it went way past that formula for 100 Firebird course it was a 22 mile race beat me off the line after about 12 miles. I caught it and went right by it.

I had that engine in my 69 dodge coronet 500 I think it was one of three it was the coolest car teal with a black top and flat black rocker panels with chrome above it and then on the three tail lights in the back it had flat black it was wicked my speedometer went up to 160 but it went way past that formula for 100 Firebird course it was a 22 mile race beat me off the line after about 12 miles. I caught it and went right by it.
