2002 ford explorer door ajar light stays on

- i had to test all 4 door switches to manually complete the circuit to see which circuit was the one malfunctioning. it was obvious on the last door because the switch had fallen out but hopefully this helps to kinda show the "door ajar" light wiring and how to test them.
I watched another video on here the other day in which the 2000-2005 Explorer/Mountaineer has an issue with the black ground wires tend to break also causing door ajar light to stay on, supposedly Ford was aware of this but didn't issue a recall on it.

To remove the switch do you have to take the whole door latch out.
Sorry for the late reply but i had to remove the whole door latch to remove the little "open/closed" switch. It wasn't too bad to remove the latch. The latch has a little plastic ear that you have to pry on to be able to twist and remove the switch from the latch assembly. This switch was dirty so the little rod wasnt moving freely and causing the door ajar light to come on.
Or is there a fuse I can yank out and stomp to a million peaces
Lmao 😆😆 you can disconnect and jump the connector at each door and it should stay off for good lol

@@rAZRfy you're going to want to disconnect the connector to the door switch and you're gonna make a little jumper wire to connect the two terminals of the connector. This will complete the circuit and turn the light off for good lol does that make sense?

Can't you just remove the wires from all 4 doors so it shuts up mine is driving me fucking nuts
