How to Manually EJECT a DISC from your Xbox SERIES X Console. STUCK DISC FAULT

- Hi, this videos shows you what to do if your disc has become stuck in your Xbox Series X console. Firstly try to Power Cycle your console to do a hard reset (this will not delete anything from your Xbox). If the game disc still does not eject, then you will have to use a paper clip to manually remove the disc using the hidden hole at the bottom/side of the console. You will need to insert the paper clip at least 35mm (3.5cm) to be able to remove the disc.

@@billybob2025 I feel like the PS5's are harder to come by. I was looking at eBay today and the PS5's were all $950-$1,300. While the Series X's were around $750-$1,200.

This has nothing to do with MS. Cd rom drives have had these for ages. Way back in the day. I’ve been in the tech field for 35+ years and can remember this trick when I started out.

@@face76 not really xbox cant even produce a decent disk reader this happened with the 360's always had to pry the plastic off to clean the disk reader lens such a shame on the other hand my ps1 never needed a clean 24 years later.

This is one of the few details about console hardware that I've never seen before.

Is it really that bad? I haven't had to manually eject anything for as long as I remember.

I have never known discs not to eject. The Xbox drawer got a bit sticky, but my 15yr old 360 never had a problem. I also have 1989 CD player which only rarely struggles to open. Lack of a drawer might be an issue though, as you can't give it a helping hand.

I actually saw that hole on a couple of reviews and tear downs. At first I thought the unit was damaged, then i thought it was just a bad design 😂😂😂
Good to know these things, but now I'd prefer a disc-less Series X, I wanted it initially to double up as a bluray player, however it doesn't support Dolby Vision on bluray. So I'll need to buy a standalone bluray player now. No discs for me, hardcopy games are just a collector's preference.

Very helpful, my series X wont turn on and this a somewhat common issue. I have to ship it to microsoft but couldn't figure out how to get the disk out.
i remeber the first batch of xbox one X had this prob and they said back then,make sure its plugged into a wall socket on its own, meaning it can draw all the power it needs as oppsosed to sharing like in a muti plug.

I just had the same issue that it won't turn on and I've tried to manually eject the disc that is stuck inside, the paper clip went through the second hole but the disc hasn't come out? I feel like I've just jammed the disc further down in to the console.
Edit: I've just pushed the paper clip in more than suggested in this video and finally got the disc out lol. So do I have to send this bricked console back to Microsoft under warranty?

I wish they made a cheaper xbox series x with digital only i have digital games on my hdd ok let's get everyone woke disks are pointless why you have to wait till the data from the disk is downloaded before you can play it the only reason why you would download the game is too put less stress on the mechanical disk drive same why going ssd because there is no moving parts to go wrong but everything has a limit like how many photos a camera can take before the hardware breaks a link inside the motherboard with a hdd there is more isues if you drop it then I don't know anymore even then if you lose all your data you have a profile on what you bought so again you will have redpwnload the games again of total loss of data happens

Clearly, your Xbox Series X is faulty, though. If it were working correctly the Machine Learning algorithm would've just spit Just Dance right straight out again. :)

I think I'd be returning it at this point LOL. Although mine still has warranty, currently. I think this is more for getting a disc out of a console with power failure, rather than a daily solution.

Hey Vince! I see you had Just Dance 2017 in an XBOX Series X. According to Microsoft they dropped the Kinect Sensor and it will not work with the New Xbox Series S/X. Do you have a Kinect Sensor with Adapter to confirm? Was just wondering. Thanks
