This is gorgeous. Calum Gram is clearly the lead in this song and is insanely clean in his play but Don Ross, as experienced as he is, is subtly playing just as perfect in the background just enjoying the song and not trying to steal the stage. I love it
Calum I heard the 2010 1st place song you did in Canada. Most wonerderful and Mr.Ross......well what can I say, your legend.....Thanks is all the rest I can say!
I've listened to this song about 30 times now. It really is awesome. The title matches the issue I have going on in my life right now. waiting. waiting to finally get to see my kid hopefully. keep up the great music guys!
This song is one of my favorites, I listen to it whenever I go to work. Fine nuances of guitar and harmonics touch the soul brightening even more composition.
Mr. Don Ross fret board is quite unique, his guitar must sound amazing, this song is amazing, reminds me of a cool Canadian north western spring morning, in Morrison river, eagles flying around, and the roar of the rapids, and water crashing against the rocks towards the shore, and me wanting to go home after days on the land lol still a beautiful memory I cherish....
Very impressive skills ! Thanks Don for being such an talented guitarist and for having been an inspiration all these years. I am only discovering Calum now and can only thank you for playing with him. You make quite an impressive duo ! Keep playing !
Don Ross & Calum Graham......i m an atheist but from now you both are god for me!!! thnx for making n spreading wonderful music!!!!! thnx a ton..........
Haha! Thanks, Juan! I first met Calum when he was 14 and he has kept in touch. He's 21 now and is not only a fine guitarist, but a very strong composer!
This music reminds me of the arctic. Back home in Fairbanks AK. It just speaks darks winters and hot stove fires, with love from the family and the dogs. Lovely thoughts
A fine example of how compelling and necessary music is to us all, this touches every atom of my being. What a gift to be able to compose and play music like that.
I heard you on CKUA this morning. I had to stay in my car until the song finished, it is gorgeous. Wow, I am floored. It looks like just two guitars but it sounds like pure magic.
+spacecowboy5150 .....Don and Calum are gifted by God. Hard work can only get you so far, just like your spaceship cowboy. Don't like it take a trip to another galaxy, dimension, pond ....whatever.:)
***** Dah....of course they worked because they clearly had the God given talent and aptitude for it. Often these prodigies are discovered, then become a protege of a master, simply because he or she excels greatly in abilities. Now can someone be a good guitar player that displays little talent, absolutely but it will be a long hard road. I have known several people that can pick up a guitar and in 2 years play better than others that have played 10 years. How do you explain these child prodigies that are and have always dotted the world? Kids that graduate from college by 10 years old....Space cowboy, you're riding in the cow chips belt now, best slow that mustang down gangster of love....LOL Stevie wonder was blind.....LOL
Your back pedaling. But what can you expect from someone so arrogant to actually proclaim as fact, "God isn't real". Even Einstein would not make that arrogant and foolish claim. You want all the credit.....take it it's yours.......for awhile...... and in awhile it's gone. Fear of God is where wisdom begins and boys become men.
***** , Yeah I used to be a skeptic like you.but it all changed as did my entire frame of mind thanks to Jesus Christ, God's son. New eyes and a peace that surrounds my existence in this world. This was not acquired thru knowledge but by repentance for sins I committed throughout my entire life knowingly and unknowingly because like you I fed into rational doubt, although logic indicated that something created all this but my nature of freewill had me in a struggle with "religious ideology. Fact is I bought into what I was being taught because it appealed to my power love of doing it my way which always left me empty to some degree. And as we get older the accumulation of these selfish regrets will take it's toll. Some turn to drugs for a fix, some money, sex, fame, you name it. Only God/Jesus will fill the hole in mans heart completely.Hopefully you will come to know the infinite love of God for His creation someday but you have to get off that high horse you're riding to hell. I did notice that my guitar abilities increased after accepting Christ, but I'm still not that good...lol.
+spacecowboy5150 You're probably right on this one cowboy. I have thought about this many times over the years. Did I get lucky..I think so, it was a gift I would reject most of my life. Based partly on this point you make and many more. But the truth is my freewill was more concerned with pleasing itself rather than pleasing anyone else, boy was that a disaster over and over again....lol.
Thanks guys for reinspiring me to pick up the guitar again. Truly I have tried to fill every moment of my waking hrs with music........your duos are pure escasty for my ears and soul.
This is one of the nicest tracks I've heard Don Ross be a part of. Normally when I listen to him it sounds like an evil guitar genius just waging all-out war on some crazy open tuning.
I may be in the minority, but Typically when Candyrat artists play their solo compositions with added parts, I personally think it takes away some of the beauty of the simplicity and makes something wonderful and makes it too muddy for my liking. However, these guys play beautifully together and this is the first time I've really enjoyed the added parts. I still prefer the original, but I do enjoy this. Great work guys, keep it coming! You inspire us.
I agree; the original seems cleaner. 12:34 with Don Ross is a really good one. The original is great as it is, but I like the duet because the notes Don plays compliments Calum's very well in that one.
Thanks for your music broda ! .It gives me srrenght and peace when we are experiencing in Spain a recent dictatorial system and police acts cruelly honest and power people. West wishes for you both . Your music change the world !
Don't know if I should practice more or just give up. I have seen Don live and really enjoyed him. Calum, you are great and together you are magic. Keep playing together....John
they are very good friends... they live close in Toronto Ontario... Calum and I helped Don and Brooke move into their new place in Toronto not to long ago...:D
Just like when I saw you play Ebon Coast with Andy Mckee, you added so much to the original melody its amazing. Hopefully will be seeing you guys at the Canadian Guitar festival again :)
Still here in 2023. Through thick and thin the music lives on. Great tunes never die!
This is gorgeous. Calum Gram is clearly the lead in this song and is insanely clean in his play but Don Ross, as experienced as he is, is subtly playing just as perfect in the background just enjoying the song and not trying to steal the stage. I love it
Absolutely beautiful; I'm in awe. If this doesn't touch your soul, you may not have one.
Redheads
interesting
Calum and Don IMHO are the best pairing of CandyRat artists
What a pleasure when Calum and Don play together.Waiting
Don Ross is a Legendary guitar player. Huge inspiration to me.
Consonances of two generations, the real master and the growing super star.
I'm in Germany right now working on a recording for another artist! But I will be back on tour in November!
Calum I heard the 2010 1st place song you did in Canada. Most wonerderful and Mr.Ross......well what can I say, your legend.....Thanks is all the rest I can say!

Don Ross's playing looks so natural, an effortless flow. Beautiful combination
The World need people like you guys... Thank You!
This is the kinda stuff I love studying to, puts me in a relaxed mindset, beautiful music.
Candyrat: The only place to find new music that doesn't suck.
Very impressive skills ! Thanks Don for being such an talented guitarist and for having been an inspiration all these years. I am only discovering Calum now and can only thank you for playing with him. You make quite an impressive duo !
Keep playing !

This makes me happy for 2 reasons, the fact that people are still making music worth listening to, and the fact that this song just sounds happy.
Sweet music and four hands flying in the air, Beautiful harmony....
when don ross is your back up.its safe to say you are a big dog.sounds great love it with a full heart
I have just discovered Don and Calum. They are amazing enough on their own, but together... Heavenly. Such a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Favourite song off the new album. Can't get this tune out of my head!!
This is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard in my life as well as my career in music.
This music reminds me of the arctic. Back home in Fairbanks AK. It just speaks darks winters and hot stove fires, with love from the family and the dogs. Lovely thoughts
Wow!! Who the heck wouldn`t like this amazing music!! Well done!!
Won't like it still alright. Which idiots stumbled across this/looked it up and THEN heard and DISLIKED it escapes me.
What a beautiful duo !
A fine example of how compelling and necessary music is to us all, this touches every atom of my being. What a gift to be able to compose and play music like that.
The first minute of the song is so perfect, so beautiful! Wow..
I heard you on CKUA this morning. I had to stay in my car until the song finished, it is gorgeous. Wow, I am floored. It looks like just two guitars but it sounds like pure magic.
I don't know who or where I would be without musicians like you guys. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world.
Beautiful, beautiful piece. Calum's glasses remind me of that old game show, Hollywood Squares. Circle gets a square!
another beautiful musical journey.
Beautiful, Don is just so amazing.
OMG! the spaces between the notes are so beautiful you two, Thank-you for your art.
Wow! How are these guys not grinning for being so amazing all the way through this!
Really love this song too! Bought the CD for 12:34 & this. Too few people today appreciate real talent. Please keep up the excellent work! Thanks!
So beautiful , truly touched my heart with a little tear .
Don, been a long time fan of yours. In Christ nothing is impossible.
+spacecowboy5150 .....Don and Calum are gifted by God. Hard work can only get you so far, just like your spaceship cowboy. Don't like it take a trip to another galaxy, dimension, pond ....whatever.:)

I just love this song. Calum has got some amazingly long and independent fingers! This song is just pure perfection.
Blown away. Saw you two perform this year at the Canadian Guitar Festival. Instant fan
At 2:05 My friend said "I didn´t know that Kirsten Dunst could play that good..." Now I can´t unsee it
Thanks guys for reinspiring me to pick up the guitar again. Truly I have tried to fill every moment of my waking hrs with music........your duos are pure escasty for my ears and soul.

An extremely relaxing and amazing song. I just love to hear it and chill out. Thank you so much for your creativity Callum and Don!
Excellent sounds, keep it up. Warms the cockles of my heart.
Wonderful duet. Don's guitar is a very nice colour.

I agree with you, it's Nice, but The original is perfect!👌🏾
Absolutely agree. They are always better alone!

Yep, no offence to Don, but when he collab'd with Andy Mckee doing Rylnn, it definitely made the tune muddy...
Love your glasses Calum. Suits you perfectly. Great performance (Y)
I never heard of those guys! I discovered thrm earlier today on youtube. Amazing guitar players!
Thanks for sharing this creative and uplifting piece. "Well played my friends"
Really love the attention to dynamics and expression in this one. Wow!
