When Kenji went to target the opponent's Mastermind with Ariel Boost I was like "whaaaa, what 10,000 IQ play am I missing?". I even paused then to see if I could figure it out before seeing what the play would be with it lol
Nummy's sportmanship and the desire to entertain with actual games is what keeps me here (aside from a good lookin streamer lol). Real question if he notices, but I wonder if he still plays limited on paper and if he enjoys the experience after all these years.
Honestly i feel like 1st opp`s deck was a bit too greedy and only panned out due to Nummy`s spesific circumstances. On the other hand, some of the drafts can be drawn out so maybe you guys see something i don`t. But what would i know : p
Just came back from a draft where I also drafted knights and went 3-0 what a timing :D It was amazing, knights really are strong and many dont expect someone to draft an aggro deck in this format at least where I play at! Great video as always nummy!
Kenji "Knights" Nummy: I'm Knights Me: Hi Knights, knights to meet you 😅 I really have found knights to be stupidly open when I draft, probably a third of my drafts is Azorious knights cause I get a 6th or 7th pick Marshall and Dispersal. I have 3 of both in my current deck after starting the draft with 4 black cards!
I've found Bola Slinger to be surprisingly good in Azorious Knights, tapping down their stuff can make their blocks really awkward when you're aggroing them down.
With the deck at the end I would run 16 lands, cut the terror or thunder squad, negate, and invasions and add in the sunder the gateway, Phyrexian enchantment + kor skywarden, I feel they would be pretty good... A lot better than giving my opponents 5+ life in my aggro deck I think. But curious to see how these cards go.
Yeah bola is insane if your deck is aggro enough.... They go from a decent board state to an aggrevating one the turn it comes down and it prioritizes them to remove it (a 2/2) if they wanna block correctly and the bola leaves behind a counter to give you that value in the trade off for their removal spells.... I've had great success with it. And hate seeing it played against me late game when I'm behind bc I know it demands an answer
I've opened none of those, but plenty of See Doubles 🤓 think the best rare I've opened has been Innistrad, card is nuts. Segovia's pretty powerful for a kinda bulk rare
3:45 You are Knights Bola Slinger over Surveyor. I'm really curious from this timeline how many more Slingers you will see since I have not found them to be that replaceable. Yeah P3P3 another one here. I think Bola Slinger could help sling over to the battles.
30:50 Opponent taps his faerie mastermind instead of skyclave to cast wicked slumber. So you not dead this turn. And next your turn you can draw second card with astral wings to force opponent draw his last card with mastermind. So it was your win, if u not surrendered
Trying to reach the next tier of play here, and was wondering: most resources I've seen say to not take multicolored cards early in the draft so you can interpret signs being sent and not lock yourself into colors early. Is there an argument to be made against that based on the success here? When is it appropriate to make the decision to take multicolored early?
Fundamental rules like that are always really useful to know when starting out, but as with most things, the more advanced you get, the more you 'break' these general rules to make more context specific and nuanced choices. P1P2 was really between Marshal and Dispersal, Cut short and Awakening are playable but not worth sticking to white for over those two blue cards. Perhaps the strictly correct pick was Dispersal there, but it's still a multicolour pick essentially as you're never cutting Sunfall, so then it's just a matter of taste. Streamers often lean ways just for the fun of it too as its low risk when you get paid to play a hundred drafts.
I did feel dirty beating an OP who had a great 2 color deck which had a 3 Preening Champ curve out with my 5 color pile that started Tracker into nonsense
Opening a sweeper and then immediately deciding to go aggro is really weird to an old constructed fool like myself. This is probably one of the reasons why I'm not that good at drafting. That Volcanic Spite from pack 2 looked way too juicy to me.
Sunfall is so nice if your opponent stabilizes with a low life total though. It’s just a great card to have in case you fall behind on board no matter what kind of deck you’re running I think
@@cserage23 Sure it's a strong card in any deck. But isn't it better in control/midrange? Seems like you want to utilize your bomb the best you can, especially when there's no reason not to. Is the uW knight that much better than Volcanic Spite? Again constructed fool at play here.
@@muchograndeyolatengo I agree the sprite isn’t a bad pick at all there. My only point is su fall just goes anywhere. The fact that you get a creature out of it makes it better for aggro in comparison to a different sweeper. But I agree that sprite would of been just as good if not better if a pick but him going into a second Marshall in a row was just stats aligning lol
@@erenjaegerbomb8653 Nah. Everything in the deck leans towards aggression, x'cept sunfall. And the prevalence of cards like Halo Forager means your graveyard is not necessarily yours
Ah the good ol' Halo Forager to copy Sunfall into three Artistic Refusals. Gets 'em every time.

Double flying so it is too high to block 👉 🧠
@@erenjaegerbomb8653 *faerie mastermind hits joint* Like whoa man how can I even block those guys? Like how small I am whoa dude"
I was thinking he'd make it blockable despite Tetsuko after reading this comment.

It was a bad draw for Nummy and a good draw by that op, made it look a little better than it was. Still looked and ran like a dream, mind you.
It is almost like the Knights recruit themselves.

Ah like sun tzu famously said “two knights shipping in the night”
that was QuasiMODO

I just paused the video at "I'm Knights" at the beginning to comment. Let's gooo nummy number one!!!

Straight up, ive run upwards of 4 slingers in my knights decks in those drafts where i dont see any of the 3/4s and it always pulls its weight easy
I agree, didn't get his reasoning there at all
When you almost Boosted the opponents creature… 😅😅😅. Love these aggro decks in this format.
I tried doing that knights deck many times and it never got together. How did you possibly get so many?!?
Opening Sunfall and taking Sunfall has been my premier strategy this entire format. I've opened a few Sunfalls and a lot of Glissas.
I've opened none of those, but plenty of See Doubles 🤓 think the best rare I've opened has been Innistrad, card is nuts. Segovia's pretty powerful for a kinda bulk rare

What does he mean with 20 gems? Is it possible to turn cards into gems?
Yes, if you've collected all 4 copies of a mythic or rare in a set and you draft it, it turns into gems
That was a nice rank after Round 4. Very nice.
Technically that's the "new" anafenza
55:24 nummy is getting old 😭😭😭😭
Hello my friend, I'm from brazil and trying to learn draft to farm maximum cards because my country is poor, thank you for the video!
That was the nuts :)
That was crazy! :D
honestly i could click off the video after seeing p1p3, guaranteed 7-x LOL but for real - solid video Nummy, keep up the good work :)
Hi Knights, nice to meet you. I'm Dad
1:06:01 😂😂😂❤
Jim Davis always runs 16lands (unless hes playing super heavy control) in bo1 due to the Arena hand smoother, which seems correct to me. Thoughts?
45:08 see their negotiator went from 1/3 to 3/3 then back to 1/3??
negotiator assigns combat damage based on it's toughness so arena shows it as a 3/3 during combat
I did feel dirty beating an OP who had a great 2 color deck which had a 3 Preening Champ curve out with my 5 color pile that started Tracker into nonsense
This deck was so good that maybe I could have managed at least 5-3.
