The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. I think he did want to raise and love his son, but he’s got a ton of unhealed and unaddressed issues still to deal with. The abused became the abuser which is heartbreaking in it’s own right.

Sky is one of the rare ex super popular youtubers that I feel was honestly doing most things out of his genuine care and just didn't know there are really some snake ass people around. My heart goes out to him but I'm really glad hes doing better for himself and learning to adapt and love the people that actually support who he is. Growth happens thru pain we all endure and I'm glad to see how much he has grown. Thank you Joon for making this video :)

Ikr, I feel like he was sort of thrown into the UA-cam blender unknowingly, got mauled by all the sharp toothed blades for years, and somehow still managed to get out alive. I know he didn't seem mentally strong during all this, but the fact that he made it through without ending his life or losing himself...He's strong as hell for that, and I respect him. His story is the equivalent of dunking your head in ice water when you find yourself starting to consider becoming famous. It really is a cutthroat world

Same for me. He was the only youtuber I watched for a long time, until my mom said I couldn’t watch him since he swore and I was 7. I still sometimes go back just to watch his old videos that I used to binge all the time. I’m glad he’s doing better (and got custody of his son apparently!)
It’s weird cause I think I stopped watching because of controversy that didn’t even exist. Now back and older it makes me sad I dropped him over sometime I think not only false but unable to understand what was going on. While I do think I was growing from the content too it’s just very hard when he mainly had a young fanbase unable to understand everything happening and how hard it was.
I wasn't supposed to watch him when I did, but he was so amazing. I really feel for him, he hurts and was hurting so much. I only hope he and his son can be happy together and Alesa can get over her bullshit

@Liru Akerima It wasn't just his pregnant wife (though that is the worst part of the story). He was also a huge asshole or abused in a way a lot of his friends. A NUMBER of minecraft youtubers (Antvenom, Deadlox, GizzyGazza, etc) tweeted their story and how Adam was the mastermind essentially.

Keem is a great man... I met him one time in California and he was awesome to me. He gave me 400$ and told me to have a nice time in Cali since it was my first time there. Very generous with his time and money, at least to me that day.

Back in like 2008, I first met Sky in a RuneScape glitching clan chat, and was sometimes in skype calls while he was making his for teh lulz series, I lost contact with him when I quit RuneScape for MineCraft, but it’s been insane to see someone across the globe I used to chat with become so big that people I’ve met years later were fans of his :O I do miss the RuneScape videos lost to time, from humble beginnings! Heartbreaking to see how much he has suffered behind the scenes, I send my love to him

Hearing him cry over his son broke me, say what you will about Adam, but he seems like such a genuinely good guy. Of course everyone makes mistakes so youve got to give him some grace. Adam isint blameless and im sure he did a lot of messed up stuff but deep down he is a good and genuine guy.

Damn that sucks. I'm not really saying she was lying, but it must suck losing your job like that. Then again it all seems really suspicious. Part of me figured she might have lied about losing her ID because Sky had money and would take care of her. You never know what goes through people's heads, especially when it comes to dating and romance.
She might have actually playing him from the start and just wanted his money. Really hard to say. Given what happened later in their relationship it gives me the feeling that she just wanted the money but I could totally be wrong. I want to be wrong.
If it really happened, what happened to her could've a nightmare scenario. Being unable to go back, when this famous person from your past asks you to go far from your home, then through "happenstance" lose your ID, get fired from your job, etc. etc. That entire scenario could've been a horror movie... if adam wasn't actually a decent person.
As an internet person who knows next to nothing about either party other than what was presented on the video (+years of watching him when I was younger), alesa couldve convinced herself that she WAS in that nightmare scenario. That she was in fact in an abusive relationship that she desperately needed to get out of... a delusion that she wasn't the one taking advantage of someone, but was being taken advantage of.

I watch a lot of “internet history” videos like this and it’s crazy how easy it is to lose huge gaps in time because people delete videos like this.
During a rough time in my life, I depended on Skydoesminecraft, Amy Lee, And Stampy Cat. They were happy and silly, they were so supportive even though I never talked to them personally. It was my escape from the real world, a safe space when I felt scared or worried. Coming back to watching them is bittersweet. I feel nostalgic in a bad way, like I want to get away from it again. I want to watch them again and feel as happy as I used to. But I can’t rewatch these videos without hurting.

Lots of allegations of him being an unhinged POS himself, being manipulative and abusive, I heard someone talk about how he tortured his pug (I've successfully blocked most the description of the torture out my memory as it was really uncomfortable but IIRC it involved poison or some form of inedible and a bunch of mirrors and screaming).
Lots of other big MC Tubers who were friends with him came forward with their own stories and backing on how he treated them so it's looking pretty legitimate.
Apparently the allegations were so severe that police got involved and he's currently in jail if I'm correct.
Most of this is second hand so do your own research but from what I've heard it really doesn't sound good.

This video helped remind me of the lessons I learned in school. 1. There's a big difference between helping others and being a slave. Only help others when they are trying to help themselves. 2. Money doesn't make friends. Friends are people who help you when nobody else is around or cares. Plus it won't bring you happiness the only thing that will bring you happiness is being yourself and doing your thang. Almost forgot 3. If you help someone and they don't want to help you. Or if they don't want to work together with you to get things done, and leave everything to you. Then forget about that person, that person is a manipulator!!! 4. During 2014-2016 I was a a huge sky fan. Around that time I got internet taken away for 6 months, and all the drama happened. I was heartbroken getting the updates from my friends, and when I came back was destroyed that he was completely done with Minecraft and was done with everything I knew. It broke my 10 year old heart. I come back now and he’s broken, and it breaks my heart. He attacked Ross, and seems so depressed. I just hope that he gets better.

I remember being in 4-5th grade and watching his videos, he was one of the first UA-camrs I ever watched. I adopted his sense of humor and the idea of laughing at the world. I had similar issues such as weight and being the weird kid throughout middle school. I stopped watching him around the time he had Mason, mainly cause I didn't need to watch his videos to be happy anymore. So being almost 21 now in college and hearing about what happened to someone that I looked up to so much as a kid. It hurts to listen to. I was such a fanboy I even spent a month making a custom Minecraft world in honor of him. I hope that someday I could talk to him and let him know that he did help make people's lives happier. I have never heard of this guy before this, but that was truly a ride to watch. Relatable in many ways for me at least, maybe not the success that he experienced. But with the struggles of the mind and having people around you that do not mean you well unless you can do well for them. I sit here now with what some people would call nothing, and I am living the best part of my life. Thank you for making this video! I've never heard about him, but he seems like an honest person, owning up to his mistakes, growing from them. It just makes him human, and I can sympathize with him in many ways. In an industry where everyone seems perfect and seems to live the perfect life, we tend to forget reality.
