Just ordered these bushings for mine, thanks for the video.
Been chasing this noise for months bro thanks for the video
Glad I could help👍👍
Tkank u sooooo much
I replace couple suspension parts and still having that noise
But I just find out my passenger side need that bushing really bad
Thank u
Great helpful video.. thank you
Thanks!
Thanks for the video very big help and you saved me a lot of $$$$$!!! Thumbs up!
Glad to hear!
thanks you helped me a lot
Glad to hear that!
auto mechanic quoted $2,073 USD today to fix the "broken" strut mounts. Of course, I'm immediately doing research and declined their quote as I brought the car in to replace the control arm bushings today which I'm having them do. I'm going to start by replacing the foam strut mount support rings since the top one is so easy to do. I'm gonna look now and see how difficult the 2nd lower one is to do myself.
Nice video!
Thanks! Be sure to do that the same with your VW)))👍🏻
@@Makhnovets How do you know what kind of car I have? ))
@@victorrusu4786 it guys driving KIA or VW))) That's my theory) Am I right?
Great video
Can you tell me the part number
Thanks! the part is in the description.
Great video of the suspension noise and the repair. I have a knocking sound from my left front suspension after hitting a large pot hole. Hopefully, my needed repair will be as straightforward. Question, did you take a test drive after the repair? Did you hear/feel improvement in the front suspension?
The first shots in video is the actual test drive after repair) day and night! All sorts of noise was coming from the front of the car before! After like butter! And that was the cheapest and easyest repair, and with biggest impact) good luck!
nice video brother! are you doing the back ones too?
Not yet, but in a month or close to that time, little busy at this time.
Nice video man, tell me, are the 4 parts U bought all identical? Part numbers for top and bottom parts seem different! Did U get a chance to replace the bottom ones eventually? Did replacing the top ones make a difference in your problem?
There no visual difference except two of them are lighter color, the bottom one i will replace in a month or so, or i might sell the car before that) lol. It fixed a-lot! Check the video, I'm talking about the problem and resolving it
did u feel a difference with just doing the top? is there a torque setting for the top when u put it back together? great video btw.. think i can manage top. bottom is a can of worms
Yes, like day and night before and after!
Top three nut's are 16 fpt.
The singular one is 33 fpt at the top.
Great video! Just wondering what size nut that is 3/4 won’t fit, also both are completely rusted on, maybe use torch to remove? 2010 x5 e70, thanks
It’s a strut socket, should be 17-18mm
Thank you!
@@Makhnovets for the record, ALL european cars are strictly metric sizes so 3/4 should not be your reference size (even though it is precisely 19mm) but you should definately get yourself a set of metric tools if you own or work on Euro or Asian cars.
Did it fix the problem and did you have to do the bottom ones also? And now it’s a year later, has it held up.
I sold the car 2month ago, and yes, it fixed the issue! E70-71 have that issue, after 100k mi you should consider doing it, it's just a weak spot in those cars, my friend had the same problem, he decide to do bottom as well. But it looks like new compare the top one which was missing. So do the top, and don't worry about bottom one!
Where do I get those parts? Thanks for the video
Check the description. all the links are affiliate, if you can or will buy true them i will get little cut, if not that cool. but you can check the MFG# and get them from whatever you want! Thanks for comment!
List the tools used, especially the Allen key torque tool as I have stubborn bolt
Thanks for Pointing on it! I did add the sizes and special tools, hope that will be helpful!!! Soak it in the WD-40, make couple attempts, than try if you can fit the Torx socket and literally nailed it, other wise use the us size allen key, you can get bigger set with more sizes, it that case you can fit the tool snug, or hummer it in, make sure the input hole is clean of rust or any debree. Good Luck!
Can these upper foam rings be replaced without compressing the shock/strut? Meaning can I just remove the nut and washer (part 11 on your diagram) and put new foam rings?
Simple answer is Yes! but make sur not to jack the car, but you can replace the top piece without doing major disassembly! exactly same way as i did it in the video!
Ive replaced the from thrust arms, control arm bushings, and sway bar links. Still have a clunking, knocking sound. Think it could be these?
I replied the sway bar bushings before replacing this part 😂) had the same issues! But only after replaicing upper struts bushings, the problem got away!👍🏻
@@Makhnovets Good to know. So far I've spent over $2400 USD. Thanks
Check that your sway bar clamp is properly tight, (2 bolts). If it is, this bushing should be the next thing you replace. Like this guy did, just do the top bushing. If you still have the noise, you most likely have to do your lower bushing as well, which requires the removal of the strut and for the spring to be compressed...
@@tima.478 Yeah. I'm replacing all the suspension hardware. FCP euro makes a kit.

hello,
is this the same for 2007 X5 3.0si with Adaptive Drive?
I think it is, they pretty much the same except the magnetic sway bar.
thanks for the reply man, keep the great videos coming.

can you do a video of proper cleaning of throttle body.
No need for torquing? Just tighten u til flat with the body of the car?
it's around 25ft lb. if you can get there with the torque wrench, on other hand the washer cant go lover by design, only think is not to messup the threads.
@@Makhnovets thank you, appreciate your response!
well the problem is there is one underneath also thats got to be replaced. and you dont have to use a hammer its 17 mm not a 11/16 th
Thanks for the update!👍🏻
Excuse me、what size is the wrench? 18㎜OK?
Sorry for late respond. in video i used 3/4-19mm, but 18mm would be better and snug. so yes, it's 18mm
Just to let you know the flickking halos is just a setting on computer can easily be fixed
how do you fix that? I know they coming from LED Light and low shutter speed. by increasing the shutter speed you can get reed of them but what other solution?
Hello, after you change this, the Noise was gone? I order this Little piece of shiii… :D
Jesus Christ, if that's really it then good night. I have replaced the control arms, the sound is still there. I have replaced the coupling rods, but the sound is still there.
I will let you know.
Every X5 after 100k mi will have this problem. Let me know how it goes, hopefully this will work!
you should of just replaced all the mounting if these pads are that bad then the lower pads and mounts must be ready to go
They're asking me for over $3500 to fix a suspension problem (clunking noise). I'm asking myself for what reason are people in this job so unscrupulous? This is robbery. They will never again see the colour of my money.
I had the same problem with US dealership, they told me that i need replace front suspension struts and springs assembly))))
great video! But, turn the music offfff!! Or just play it quetly!
Noted!
You did not changed the strut support bearing...🙄🙄
i didn't, was looking for the quick fix) lol)
still planning to do it simetime)
