You never know what you're going to find on Google Earth and this one was pretty strange. Always heard about this place but never been there so you know we had to go have a look at it for ourselves. This place is pretty strange, and you don't want to be staying there at night. Decided to go look for Gold, not Aliens so we headed up into the hills and found some fantastic Gold mines. If you want to see more Gold mines like this, just click this link ua-cam.com/video/MwvkyrsZNco/v-deo.html and smash that like button...smash it HARD !!!!

All the Loran stations, almost without exception, where isolated and remote and had to be manned by Coast Guard Radioman. Out of USCG radioman school the students "feared" being sent there because your life was over for about two years since there were generally not even small towns nearby. I was one of those students more than 40 years ago.

@@AskjeffwilliamsAbout the LORAN, no. I was one of the lucky ones. Other classmates however found themselves going to Alaska. I was sent to New Orleans and a radiostation there. Some of my classmates went to LORAN stations and we all knew what that meant because we had already been trained in regards to those types of units. Stints are two years and isolated. Fun, fun.
I probably would not have minded it though because I wasn't married at the time and have been a remote location rock hounder most of my life.

@@cardmansales9376 Jeff didn’t drop the rock down the pile of rocks. There’s always a post or a brass plate that gives the N/S/E/W position. The rocks show 4 quarters of 480 miles each quarter. It totals 1920 square miles of federal land units. That’s how all land in America is measured. States are on grids and that’s why all states are mostly square lines when looking at maps.

We had an ELF base a couple of hours from us in WI. It was used to send comunications to subs in the deep seas to surface and recieve orders. The original proposed a 22k miles of cable but ended up only using around 60 miles of cable per antenna all laid in precambian bedrock near the surface.

I'm in Mich, and most of any rocky places are in the upper peninsula. I know there are copper mines .and that most of the copper was mined long before any of the states were formed. North east of Edwards AFB in the Mojave is a giant circle out in the middle of nowhere.
I couldn't couldn't figure out what it was, then i zoomed in from Google Earth and saw a tank in the middle of it. It's some sort of targeting test circle for aircraft accuiring a target. PS, search for Redstone satellite dish installation in the Mojave it's a massive dish farm each dish is assigned to a space ship or probe. The Voiager 1 from the 70's has it own dish and its still sending & receiving to this day.

I like it when you have the drone up, I'm starting to think like a GMG, a Gold mining gopher, I try to spot things and see if I can see where they have come from, from my recliner of course. Thanks Jeff.

WOW!!! What a transformation!!! I tried watching you years ago when you were talking to the skeleton!! But I couldn't listen too long as you were very 'loud' lol
But now you are much 'softer' and I have learnt sooooo much - I can't get enough of you!
We love it that your wife comes out with you - if she had anything to do with your transformation--- we'll done!
I will explore your website to see if I can buy your Tshirt 'YES - YOU'RE GONNA GET WET!!!'
    from Esme in Australia

Those were some neat mines. It would have been really interesting to have explored them before they were capped. As you flew the drone up the the little valley towards the mines, you could see that it was following a fault line with different rock formations on ether side. Right toward the top the erosion had left the actual fault line. Quite interesting to see from the air.

Why when hard rock mining people get tiny gold. But metal detecting and placer mining they find bigger gold? Should it be the opposite?

It’s all in the geology. You can’t detect huge nuggets if the deposit only has fine flakes.

    • @miketheminer2023

Lets say a hard rock miner can get 45000 oz out of 1500' of quartz. And you can detect your whole life and only get 20oz. Or run 6000 football fields down 30' and get 45000 like parker Schnabel. 😂 hard rock is where the $$ is
