Id recommend for all of you who are looking for small portable bass amp to look into the Roland microcube rx, it is only 5w rms, but has 4 small aluminum cone drivers in it, it'll not only get louder but sound better, you can buy it from Sweetwater for $275, it also comes with a drum machine and many other effects, pop in 6aa batteries and you are on your way. It'll beat the nads off of this Blackstar bass amp, even with the extension cabinet.
Ordered this. Opened it up christmas and played for about 10 minutes before I realised this was not for me. I just hated the sound. Even the "Clean" sound sounded gravely and distorted. Tried it my p bass also and still sounded bad in my ears.. It just doesnt have that depth of bass froma larger amp either. A bit disappointing because i do love the portability. I'm not sure how they were getting that sound in this video. The only way i could get a clean sound was crank the gain right down and then there was hardly any volume what so ever.
Had a similar experience with the Blackstar guitar mini amp. Don’t get me wrong, for the tiny size and price value I’m very happy with it as a solo practice amp. If you’re jamming with one other guitarist it’s fine, too. But don’t expect to record with it. Way too much fuzz.
Received mine yesterday. The sub does not seem to change anything; compressor changes tone from 0 to 1 but from 1 on onwards there's no change. Could it be defective or are these controls meant to provide some extremely subtle difference in tone?
I don't think it can. at least not that well. you can get better for the price of the mini stack. I bought the guitar Fly and still play my bass through it and can record some basic stuff on computer
Just bought one for headphone practice only. It's fairly "clean" but I never use gain or distortion on bass. There is no stereo. You can hook it up to another one somehow I think, but why?
Either I got a bad product, or this product is shitty to start with. Had to return it on Amazon. Disliked how it gave out so much distortion that I just couldnt play any low notes at all.
Same with mine. I still have mine as my 2 year old drew over the packaging and the shop wouldn't take it back. Which is fair enough. Need to sell on Ebay with all of 10 minutes use.
I got one this week and can confirm they fit in the front pocket of a hoody :P good sound for a tiny amp too :)
Now I know what my next purchase will be... Awesome!!!
