Other than that it's a cracking little practice amp, I even plugged it into a PA and had a rehearsal with a full band... Wild!
I own both the BOSS and the Blackstar. They are both great, but I do like the BOSS a bit more when playing through the speaker. One thing you didn't mention was the line-outs that have cabinet emulation. I don't know if the others have this but the BOSS and the Blackstar do and they are surprisingly good. Not as good as a dedicated IR but very usable. For times when I want to practice without a lot of set up hassle I'll use the line-out into my studio monitors and it is very good. The sound is great in a mix when practicing with a backing track. The sound is extremely easy and quick to get a good mix. For this purpose I've found that the Blackstar line-out sounds a little better than the BOSS. The sound is good enough that you could even use this to record with or go to FOH in some circumstances.
I own the Blackstar, The Nux and the big brother of the Laney as they used to have a 6w version (the one I have). The 6w version has more controls and delay. I like all the 3, but I used the Blackstar more.

I really like your channel ... But it happens often that I disagree with your choices 😁 I have four of these 5 amps ... And quite frankly I have been quite positively surprised by the flamma that I found way better than the Nux and quite good compared to the boss katana that disappointed me with its overall low build quality. Seemed to me like a baby toy rather than an amp 😃 but I agree with the fact that the spark mini is a killer amp. I love it over its big brother the spark 40 ... Anyhow, thanks for the honest reviews you make 🙏🙏
Very Cool, Thankyou. When getting back into electric guitar a couple of years ago, I purchased a guitar from Artist Guitars (Awesome). They had a Joyo Jam Buddy on 50% off special, so I got one of those too (before remembering I had my 1984 Fender Sidekick 15R in storage in my shed doh. The Jam Buddy amp is Amazing, is Rechargeable with Delay and Over drive Effects. Such a cool little amp, that I rarely use these days sadly, but still take it down the beach occasionally and it ROCKS. Cheers
I have to agree that the Boss really is the best. I recently tried the Spark Go and found it very awkward having to operate it via a phone when I just wanted to get on with enjoying my guitar. It also didn’t sound as good as the Boss and (mine at least) was very crackly with my Les Paul (the Boss was fine) . The Black Star is set up like the just like the Boss but just doesn’t rock anything like the Boss. I just couldn’t get interest in playing my guitar with either the Spark Go or the Blsckstar Mini but as soon as I plugged in the Boss, I just couldn’t put it down.
In my opinion the Black Star is really cool. I own one myself and it's one of my main practice amps. I also have the Boss Eband Wich is very useful for not only different amp and guitar sounds but you can actually be record on it for song ideas. Elmo you should check out the Boss Eband JS-10 if you don't already know of it. It's pretty awsome.
The spark mini is absolutely worth every penny above what you would pay for these five. 8 to 10 hours on a single charge and the unbelievable amount of effects on the free app that comes with it is unreal. Not to mention it can be used as just an interface or pre amp and connected to a speaker cab if you need more output. And lets not forget the sounds out of any of the spark series is really good. The spark 40 is small gig ready, imo. I have the katana mini, and although the sound is good, its abilities pale in comparison to the spark mini. Sorry to hijack your review.
