- TV on a Harley Davidson Boombox GTS Stereo? Terrible idea, but it's fun. You read that right. You can now watch @UA-cam and @Netflix on your 2019 and later @harleydavidson stereo as long as you have the GTS stereo. You can do this with a new box from AutoSky. This box is an upgraded version of their @Apple wireless carplay adapter, but with more functionality so it adds video streaming. It is a better carplay adapter, and the streaming feature is a cool trick. Super easy install if you're at all techy with phones, etc. Side note: FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T RIDE YOUR MOTORCYCLE AND WATCH STREAMING VIDEO.

I installed a flip-out screen radio one of my older FLH. It blocks the Speedo/Tach, when flipped out, but it’s awesome. Gives me touch screen, large screen for GPS, and plays videos/DVD’s. I’ve used it to mirror my phone, so UA-cam/etc if need be.
I have yet to see someone else do it.
I’ve seen that on older road glides, the angle is weird on the old shark nose fairings and typically the mechanism breaks on the stereo.

Just noticed your Sunpass. I have a windshield 3-pocket from HD and that’s where I keep mine. Throw it in the Tour Pak when parked because I don’t trust people!
I don't think the windshield pocket fits under my Klockwerks windshield.

Sometimes I think I am the only guy for who just the feel of the motor, shifting through the gears and just operating the machine (shovelhead) in general, is enough entertainment.... or maybe I am just simple 🤔
You aren't the only guy, but nobody's preference is the right way for everyone. Long distance blasts at 80 when using the bike to cover miles it is nice to listen to tunes and have a way to know where I am going besides blue painters tape on the tank. There are other ways to do things, and they aren't wrong.

Purchased this product for my 2022 Roadglide ultra, cause having the same temptation when riding... I can't get the home screen to show on the head unit. Contacted the company hopefully they will be able to help me with this issue. Work great in my car, with a Pioneer head unit though so not a total loss if it won't work.
Do you have the adapter plugged in inside the fairing? The one that makes the bike think it has a microphone?
@Professional Monkey I didn't think I needed it cause I do have mic. Wired android auto works normally.

If you were sitting at a parking lot or a campsite looking at TV on your motorcycle wouldn't that kill your battery? Because like what you have to have the key on and all the lights and everything on and everything like that even though you're not moving and you just want to watch the TV?
Do you have the option to mirror or cast from your phone to the device? I do this at home to a roku or samsung tv. If that works any video can play.

New subscriber and new to the Harley world with a 2021 Street Glide. I've enjoyed these gadgets you've shared being able to use android auto. I personally don't use a lot of the features on the GTS Boom but I'd like to be able to use a Sena, my phone, and the GTS all together without getting that ding dang WHIMS thingy. Is there a gadget to bypass the requirement for that? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the content. Carlos in Bama
Well... if you do this, and pair a Sena to your phone that might work? I am not an expert on headset stuff. I am not a fan of them (just preference).

I get what you mean, but it's all just opinion. I would never watch anything, I just like that I have my tunes and can find my way home easily. I moved down here almost 13 years ago and still mostly have no idea where I am... :)

Did you get the plug that goes in the fairing first? This is step two overall, you need the $19 plug in the fairing first.

What wireless headset are you running to work with this setup?
I don't use one. I had the fooler plugged in so I didn't need one.

No, if you connected a WIRED headset to the bike and it worked it does not confirm that you have a WIRELESS Headset Module.@@Irnotslowable
So it is possible that if I order the "fooler" and the wireless carplay adapter then car play may work.
I put my phone in a windshield bag center pouch. I can run a cord to the power port and charge it
You need to tell people with CVO’s that Amazon plug doesn’t work. You need the HD headset and whim.

I dunno... I like to have a movie I've seen running while I'm on the internet (if I'm not running music... BTW if you haven't heard of 'em, check out Polyphia. They're a guitar/bass/drum instramental group that is awesome, they even play with Stevie Vai), I don't look at the movie too much, it just kind of background noise. So... having Star Wars A New Hope running as background noise... and the trench run comes on as your navigating heavy traffic at speed on the internet...

I think you can't judge people and decide what's right for them. I knew this comment was going to come, and I have always said my favorite button on the stereo is the off button. The truth is long haul blasts at 90mph on the turnpike where you don't turn for hours and hours, it's nice to have tunes and know where you are going. I feel like most of the people that make this comment only ride one way, and in their local area. If you do long hauls, music is nice.

I ride both. Short commute to work (most of the time) and also enjoy long rides. I’ve been riding since I was 16. I just turned 50. I enjoy the sound of my SG. I love being in the open, in the weather, hearing the wind and all the environmental sounds around me. But I also enjoy music. Sometimes on a long ride, sometimes on a short ride. Depends on my mood. If I’m running to the store I might rock out, might not lol. I appreciate your videos. I’ve been looking for a good car play “thingy”. This might be the one. Not that I’ll be watching vids while riding or anything but the link up time is awesome! Keep up the great videos. I love them!
