54 years old....this was part of my youth soundtrack..... Used to love watching poppers and breakers throw down to this....Me?..I couldn't dance for shit...but I had the knack for a dope cut and scratch..... Finally got my Technics 1210 mk2s in 96 and 97...and still practice my cuts most days... Peace..
Ah, brings back memories of listening to this in my bedroom as a young teen in the hot UK summer of 84, on LWR, 11pm ish and my parents telling me to go to sleep, but with this sort of stuff I just couldn't. That magical bit at around 2.03 with Woody Woodpecker got me back then and still does now. One of the best and I was an electro freak, loving anything from Planet Patrol to COD to Soul Sonic Force. Cheers for sharing.
If not for Kraftwerk, we wouldn't have none of this amazing style of music. And yes they were white guys from Germany. They were pretty much the pioneers of Hiphip/techno/trance/pulse/electronica music; who've inspired everyone from Divo, Afrika Bambaataa, Thomas Dolby, Art of Noise, and Daft punks.
Kraftwerk the pioneers of hip hop??? Now I've heard it all. You pretty much have an argument with the entire population of NYC to say that. Are you from Europe? You do know that it started in the late 70s before" Numbers " was even introduced right? You do also know that The MC's rapped over Break-beats cut up by Herc, flash, and bam spinning "Breaks" of SOUL music. James brown, apache etc... Fast Forward a few years.. Afrika Bambatta does planet rock which was influenced by "Trans Europe Express" and it changed the sound yes... But To say Kraftwerk are the pioneers of hip hop? That's a very long stretch.. They very much had a influence on them.. But besides "Numbers" hip hop wasn't checking for Kraftwerk... sorry m8.. They are legends in their own right.. influenced many.. But pioneers of hip hop? That's a SUPER stretch. What B-BOY moves did they create, what graffiti did they write? How many rap battles in the Bx did they win? What park jams did they spin at?? You have to be able to credit them to much more then "Numbers" and " Trans Europe Express" To say they pioneered hip hop. Electronic music THAT they did for sure. Love Kraftwerk.. but lets not step on hip hops pioneers from the 70s so easily like they didn't create BEFORE " Numbers'.. Peace
Nope. Two brothas out of NYC and Cali that were part of the new wave in the mid 80's. There names are Lil Roc-n-G (Gerard Burton) and MC C-Breeze (Curtis Harvey)
Nodick track I'm at the kincethrucha looking 4 Ms.Wright never showed up . knowing I have always been Mr.Wrong party's almost over my time jam.hit the no delima break and pop .lost the contest but took the girl home my mind it was snoopy.pnut over and out

Tim Westwood's Zulu Beat Show on Lwr Radio... summer of 1984.. this tune was getting played everywhere.. breakers & poppers anthem..🔥🔥🔥🔥
The best track on 'Electro 5'. Loves when it interchanges with 'Egypt' by Egyptian Lover.
"one two three four HIT IT"
As a kid i was hypnotized when KRAFTWERK part came in.
Loved this back in the days all the cuts and scratching , that woody wood pecker laugh into a scratch
Dang!...talk about Oldschool. Me and my bros used to bump this jam and brake dance to it
Man this brings back memories. 1982 B Boy.
Who's listening during quarantine???

I remember crews battling to this song. Glad I found this. I had trouble remembering who did it.
A classic West Coast beat
Stunning, Breathtaking: I'm devoted to this piece of electrobeat.
This joint stayed in heavy rotation while I cruised the blvd in my Cutlass, pumping mad bass!
A master piece of inventive music, they had Tour de france and Herbie Hancock on deck before they were realeased
I was living in San Jose California when this came out 🎧🎧🎧
Classic b-boy tune.
Remember when my uncle bought this on white label blew me away drill does proper choon gwan woody
Still does
First time I heard that was autumn 85 on the NY vs LA beats on the streetsounds Electro, truely blew out my mind with the rest of the B side.
I used to absolutely love this track from the old Electro album.

Fucking wicked
classic!!
I have this 12 “
This is not a good battle song. There is no rhythm & no boom bap. I think white boys made this.
