Whenever I get sick and feel terrible I always try image that my body is a battlefield where my immune cells are slaughtering the infections, somehow it makes me feel better haha
Thank you so much for making this to help spread this information. I can't remember how many times I've had to tell someone, especially an overreacting mother, that fever is not the cold itself but the body fighting it off, and that you didn't have to immediately stop the fever just because it's there. I used to work at a daycare and I was always surprised at the lack of this knowledge. (edit: spell check)

"Speak to your doctor and don't listen to internet videos" Might be the most important part. Thank you for your honesty.
Doctors are regularly incorrect as well and its hard to say whether or not they're your best shot at solving a problem. It really depends. I would say consider all the information you're given, including videos on the internet, as they can easily teach you things about a problem that doctors/nurses simply don't have time to explain. Though, having a doctor's opinion won't hurt... probably.
Doctors aren't trustworthy either, they fuck up all the time. Best strategy would be to listen to multiple doctors and consider the opinion of the majority but that's rarely viable.
Best thing you can do is vet doctors and find one that has your best interest. Some care about your well-being. A lot are legal drug dealers and your body is a walking cash cow. Do your own research. We all have the ability to critically think. Use it! Only recently we have been told to not research and give up total anatomy control. You only have one body. Guard it with your life. Otherwise you won’t have one.
One of my favorite facts about the body: in most minor sicknesses, most of the symptoms you feel aren’t the bacteria infecting you, but your body fighting back.
One of my mind blowers was the fact that most diseases aren't named after the specific germ they are named after the symptoms your body has or the location. I always assumed that doctors looked at your symptoms, diagnosed your problem as this specific virus and gave you the medication for it. Nope! They often just treat the symptoms or use broad antibiotics and hope the body fights it off. A lot of medicines are to counteract the side-effects of the other drugs you are on if they are really nasty. My daughter was less than a day old and was rushed into the NICU. She spent several weeks fighting an unknown infection. They never figured out what the infection was and said she had Sepsis. I looked up what Sepsis was and it's basically the body hurting itself from fighting an infection.
@djones02 Yes, especially most of the first line of drugs, just treating the symptoms. Not even antibiotics. It has its risk to use antibiotics. I always googled the drugs I took, learning how they work. It's very interesting.
@@djones02 The concept of germs is very new historically speaking, not even 200 years old. Medicine has existed for thousands of years before that. Without a clear understanding of the root causes of sickness, it makes sense to assess things by what can be observed.
@@djones02yes. Most diseases can be cured by our own body. Doctors give medicines because people complain about the symptoms (because of the unpleasantness or they need to work). Hence the medicines are symptomatic rather than definitive. Only a few diseases actually need definitive therapy. Some other diseases are literally incurable and the only thing we can do is prevent the progression.
Every time I get sick I watch all your videos on the immune system or the body’s defenses in general. It’s the best thing I can do for myself because it gives me the biggest sense of confidence I could have when sick, knowing that my enemies are getting massacred to the very second. I’m sick as I type this
FINALLY i 100% understand how FEVER work!! wow, our body and immune system is soooo beautiful, i'm crying 😭 i just know that fever is our body defense system, because HEAT will kill the virus and bacteries. we even use kemotherapy, which is HEATING UP, for cancer. 5:20 this explanation is wonderful! hmm... since cancer cell is very good at camouflage, so the body not detecting something wrong and not activating fever that much, right? that's why kemotherapy exist. is there a medicine to "actually" activate fever? not to suppress it? imagine, we know we had something wrong in our body, but our body didn't response with fever, so no defense system. we can "manually" heating ourselves with "something". also maybe that's why Work Out is good, because it makes our body HOT too, right? is Work Out have same theory as Fever? also i usually use Heat Balm when i feel something bad in my body, like headache, or "cold" lung. the HEAT is really makes me feel better, and i hope by doing this, i heating up the cell in that area, then the cell invected will be produce more HSP, so the immune system inside me will know which cell that they should kill. haaaaa this is very wonderful video and makes me at ease!! thank youuu
same, especially during summer sometimes I can't tell if I'm just overheating/early heatstroke or have a full blown fever. It doesn't help that I have sinus issues and brain fog somewhat regularly. Typically though I tend to be on the _power through_ team for the first few days because I don't like taking more than the necessary amount of any medication, I'd rather not develop a resistance while I'm still young and not dependent yet, I've seen too many family and friends suffer more from a resistant due to hair-trigger mediating.
Not only fevers, but also incredibly bad intestinal cramps. I'll always remember my two hardest experiences. Reaching 41.5, hallucinating, wetting everywhere i went and unable to distinguish reality from a dream was a walk in the park compared to my worst abdominal pain, thinking im dying cuts it VERY short lol.
This. I've never wanted to take fever medication for this exact reason, but 9 times out of 10 have to because my fevers get dangerously hot. As a kid it was really bad and my doctor (who we knew personally very well) actually gave me a personal temperature where I had to go to the ER higher than the normal one, because otherwise even under medication literally every illness would be hot enough to send me to the ER when it didn't have to
I wonder whether the reference to the succulent chinese meal at 3:18 is a reference to the well known meme. By the way, the guy who is featured in that meme passed away a week before that kurzegesagt video here was released.
I remember I got a fever during exam season. Since I needed to do work, I could have taken fever suppression medicine but I said to my body "fine, whatever it is, let's kill it so we can move on". I put on a jacket, got a heavy blanket (duvet) and went to sleep for 6 hours. It's the fastest I have cured a fever and I was back to work like normal.
I don't think any song released has ever not been able to be a stand alone song. Epic Mountain Music really hit the nail with the video about the scale of stars.
They should absolutely be disclosed in the beginning. Before the video starts there should be a few second cut where they disclose every sponsor since they can be conflicts of interest. Then the real ad after the video ends.
The magic of the solutions is mitigated by the idea that there were 100 billion of us who have lived and died as trial and error of just our species, and seriously countless others of our progenitors before them. So a fine tuned system makes total sense with virtually any solution to any issue. But the enormous magnitude of "effort" getting us to here is still quite incredible all its own.
There's a video by kurz that tells all possible microbes in life even those that aren't discovered yet to man have an antithesis. In theory, one can survive literally every single pathogen, including the absolute deadliest, provided the immune system knows how to deal with it. The problem lies on the fact that the immune system doesn't have the knowledge on everything. It can create the solution and it has all the tools, it just doesn't know how to do it.
It is so complex. I took 1000mg of Paracetamol in one take (2000mg is max daily usage) and felt better after 90minutes, the odd thing was my temperature stayed the same for next 6 hours (measuring every 1h using analog thermometer)
The other main issue is time... some infections and diseases overwhelm the body quicker than it can activate the counter measure. Its that week, week and a half period where you're body is identifying and making the anti bodies that gets ya... if the invader can do lethal damange to you in that time, then you're screwed, which s why Ebola and the like is so bad... before you're ready to fight back you've taken to much damage to vital organs to survive.
Me : *gets infected My immune system : "Don't worry. These microbes can't survive above 40°C." Me : "But I also can't survive above 40°C." My immune system : "I missed the part where that's my problem."
The immune system is like a bully that got surgically attached to you, except its been there since the moment it got established in your body in your mother's womb.
I also find it very hard to sleep at night when i have high fever. First of all it’s hard to even fall asleep cause i feel like my head is about to explode, and even if i do manage to fall asleep i’ll have some insane dreams and also wake up several times during the night drenched in sweat. That’s why i sometimes prefer to take some meds and don’t feel like wreck in the morning.
The idea that fungi were a “great filter” that led to the evolution and dominance of warm-blooded mammals on Earth was put forth by my PI, Dr. Arturo Casadevall (timestamp 1:07). So happy to see his work make it into my favorite YT channel!

@@rundown132 Its not always about money. Money ≠ Happiness. Performing valuable research in such a field is worth lots, also for ur own mental health (depending on ur mindset)
One thing I’ve learned from pharmacy school, is that if you are ever unsure as to whether you should use an anti-pyretic (anti fever) drug such as Tylenol, you can always contact your local pharmacist and they can give you some guidance such as whether it’s ok to stay home and rest vs. should you go to the doctor. They can also advise you on when you should and shouldn’t take Tylenol or other anti-fever medications. While I am not comfortable going over the guidelines I’ve learned in school here since I have not yet passed my NAPLEX (the USA pharmacy national certification exam) I am comfortable saying that part of a pharmacist’s training involves multiple courses in “self care therapeutics”, which involves steps to identifying what is and is not an immediately refer to doctor type of illness. I wish everyone here to stay happy and healthy and please wish me luck as I continue with my pharmacy training ^^
The sad part of all of this is that in this current age and society, nobody actually cares about your health, only your productivity, so your recovering time be damned and just "feel good" while you're sick so you can actually work

Your level of understanding is very low! But it does make sense, but dont be like that, he probably means like pre recorded videos with doctors, live doctors are better because who knows! When I was in my 20s, I had a fever of 41C for about 2 days before I was taken to the hospital. It was so bad I was hallucinating. The dr said that less than 1C higher and I would have started getting brain damage. Later, when I was in the army; I suffered from heat stroke a few times and my body has never been able to regulate my temperature properly since. It really sucks. Imagine not being able to work out, do things you used to enjoy, or even just go outside on warm days without instantly getting sick and throwing up because your body can't tolerate a temperature just a few degrees above normal. The difference between a fever that someone can just get over and one that can be severe enough to alter your life is so close that it is better safe than sorry and just go to a dr.
to you have the same problem with cold temperatures? many things can be fixed with specific kinds of therapy, not sure if your problems can fall into that.
I’m so sorry you have to deal with it. I have temp regulation problems due to a genetic thing. I hate summer because of it, and I live in the Southern US. I basically have to stay inside all summer and even going to a doctor’s appointment is really hard; I had a fever for two days after getting out last time. I also have chronic pain and heat helps, but if I fall asleep with the heating pad on, I wake up with a fever, soaked through, and miserable. But because of my other health issues I also get fevers just from stress. I had a fever for three months straight before my wedding, during the height of COVID, so I couldn’t get my dress altered for the longest time. People seem to not get how much it impacts what you do. I don’t even like eating very hot food (especially soups or pasta or mashed potatoes) because I’m hot for like an hour after I eat. It’s ridiculous!
Bro... Anything above 103F and you really should be taking meds. At 41C you should have went to the ER literally right then and there. It's unfortunate that you waited 2 days. I had a fever, when swine flu hit, for a week that was like 103F to 104F and we went to the ER for that shit. 😅
Feel for you there im the same due to having to take immune depressents no protection from anything a cloudy sunny day now feels like the desert sitting in the garden swells my eyes shut due to the pollen actual bubble boy nowadays 😂
I'm questioning my health right now. I rarely get a fever, but I'm easily too hot. I sweat massively and every time I do sport, especially cardio, I'm feeling sick afterwards and get a really bad head ache that can stay for two days. Always wondered what that's all about.
these videos are seriously the best science education ones I've ever seen! my teacher in middle school would show these to the class and I loved them. now I'm watching them on my own. great work!

Kurzgesagt, you once said in a 10-year-old video, "We will make a separate video talking about tectonic plates in general." I'm still waiting to this day. The video, in particular, is 'Everything you need to know about the earth'
there will be parties in the streets, endless fanfare, glorious banquets when Kurzgesagt makes a video about general tectonic plate knowledge. I am waiting with you.
So fever is a strength boost with the side effect of taking more damage. what I said in a proper way; Fever +Sickness Resistance (60%) -Reduced Physical Endurance. Goes up by 8% every day (48% max)

Unless you are a stroke patient or have had a traumatic brain injury, in which case an infection and high fever can cause seizures. Sepsis is something to watch for in these patients.
i was a sickly kid. would have permanent colds and coughs for 7-8 months a year, and only getting better in the summer. i always forgot to take meds and just kept rawdogging my illnesses. i was also a dirty kid too lazy to focus on hygiene. years later, as an adult, i never get sick. a few weeks ago i got my first cold in 4-5 years, and it passed within 2 days without medicine cuz once again, i forgot about them even though i bought them. this made me realize that perhaps relying on meds only means ur immune system loses the opportunity to become stronger. i have friends who regularly get sick, or have random headaches, or something else randomly hurting. i cant remember the last time i had a headache
You are semi right, medicines are best to fix the inmune system doing stupid stuff that is self destructive or to control out of control infections that you can't fight back. Well and vacciness which are like training manuals for your inmune system so it can get strong before even being infected, usually this is good for disseases that leave bad permanent side effects even if your inmune system can eventually defeat the main dissease or for disseases that kill you before your inmune system can fight it back. Most medicines are symptomatic to make yourself functional by disabling sysmtoms that your inmune system created to fight, this actually makes the illness slightlyt worse but allows you to not have to rest even if you feel like shit longer.
@@diablo.the.cheater yeah i def get vaccines. and one time when i was a kid, i got this SERIOUS illness (idk what its called in english) but its like a flu but on steroids. i was basically puking out green phlegm by the jar-fuls, and was hospitalized, getting injected with an unknown substance regularly. in that case, meds def helped me i think. but for ur average illnesses, like a common cold or a fever, i feel like taking meds only harms u in the long run. unless ur immune system is so weak that u have no choice but to take meds
I think the same, my grandma and mother used to take pills (to combat fever) always and soon I realized they needed more everytime. Something inside my mind told me that wasnt good so I started to take medicine only when I can barely think, refusing theirs offers. Now when I get sick (like amost never) I take 1 pill when feeling TOO bad and get better. I didnt even got COVID or if I got it never realize it was (never feel too bad like my friends told me it was, or lost smells or taste). The only thing I suffer a lot is bacterial tonsillitis, there was a time I got ill every other month, detected it was when I smoked in outside cold nights. That was like 5 years ago. Remember one time I got 39C fever for like 2 days and cant even open my eyes or think, still didnt take medicine for fever only antibiotics. Now my girlfriend works with little children so she is ill almost everytime (in winter) and take a pill for almost everything. When she infect me I get one day mildly ill and then restored. I get people take medicine to keep being functional but I think is bad on the long run. Luckily I have a job where I can say I feel bad and they let you rest for the day without medical license.
I remember my little daughter had lots of fevers when she was small. And seeing that platypus being so weak, unwell and shivering brought tears to my eyes. Poor thing. Very well animated and designed.
When I was in the military in 2014 I discovered that going into the sauna when I was sick expedited my illnesses. I rarely stay sick for more than 72 hours now.
Saves your body generating the heat with it's own resources! Great for mild illnesses, but important to identify when it's something you can't get over on your own

@@Dr.EdwardClint if we DON'T deal with someone's fever. Especially children. Can't say for sure it's lead to litigation but definitely complaints and ire.
@@matthewmurdoch6932 Thank you for clarifying. This is why I think this video is wonderful. Many, perhaps most people do not understand the role of fever. When it comes to children, fever is thought to be more important than in adults (and why theirs are higher): they haven't been alive long enough to train their immune system against common pathogens in their environment. The don't even yet have the full array of antibodies (this takes until around age 10). So the body has to rely on the means available. But I also 100% understand with parents who are watching their kid suffer and assume that must be the worst thing, even if it isn't. =/
@@Dr.EdwardClint fever kills many children esp in places like morroco where its already hot and there isn't much AC, it can cause organs to get stuck together and a whole host of other problems leading to the children dying - and the government is so corrupt they will not care and the healthcare so bad, there is no help.
Thank you. I needed to hear this because my little boy just had a febrile seizure from a fever and I'm a PTSD mess right now. Knowing the fever has a purpose helps so much
I had 39.7c fever that almost knocked me out and wasn’t able to cool down. nurses injected cold electrolytes water in the vein for three consecutive hours, at the temperature your eyes teared, ears humming like there’s a bird inside your head, your shiver doesn’t have feeling at all, but you can see your bed shaking in high frequency like you’re electrocuted. It’s like a daydream that has no ending, time passes slow af.
When I was a kid, I had a really bad 40c fever for a couple of days (maybe longer or shorter, I can’t remember), following a 39.5 fever for a week before then. I’m not sure what it was from, I didn’t get treatment for it but it was some waterborn pathogen, as far as I could guess (there was something being spread by water fountains around the area.) My foster parents at the time refused to get me to the hospital, so I’m honestly surprised I didn’t get critically ill or anything. Shit was awful: I was throwing up all the time, dehydrated, I couldn’t move and when I did my body felt so heavy I felt like I was gonna collapse. My eyes burned like hell, my head hurt every time I breathed in, and I was hardly eating too ‘much since I just couldn’t hold it down. The shakes from that were terrible, I remember not being able to hold much since it was just vibrate out of my hands lmao.

Pro tip from experience. And I barely get fever and it’s not super bad if I do. Wrap yourself up. With loads of water next to your bed. Sweat it out. Help your body with increasing your temperature while not exhausting the energy resources. Plenty of hydration and in one night fever is gone. Even do this for common cold. Sniffles? Sore throat, coughing? Anything cold related. Wrap up in bed, hot tea, sweat it out. And you’re good as gold in no time. Told this tip to a colleague, she had an ongoing cold for couple of weeks. No fever. I told her to sweat it out. Next time I saw her. She felt the difference. 😊👍 I’m with fever on this one. Will keep in mind to avoid anything with meds in it. Just vitamins and tea 🙌
That's a good idea to help the fever along. I have heard of provoking a fever by intentionally triggering your immune system to fight a chronic sickness that isn't causing a fever. And saunas can be useful too.
@@MisterDibitybopty please do, many people I know that used it, it worked. All you are doing is helping your body to increase the temp. Be sure to hydrate and eat to some extent. Just crelax in bed, you will sleep a lot which is good as that is when your body does most of the repairs. 🙂 let me know

do you think the succulent chinese meal was a reference to the guy made famous for quoting it, "What is the charge? Eating a meal? A Succulent Chinese Meal?" who also recently passed away?
The last time I was properly ill, I developed a pretty intense fever. I called out of work, but since I work in a right-to-work-for-nothing state in the US, my work told me I either had to go in, or go to the doctors right then and there. It was the middle of summer, and feeling lethargic and miserable, I got into my car. Almost instantly I stopped shivering, felt way more lively, and stopped wishing for my life to end then and there. The inside of the car was boiling hot, usually I start expiring instantly, but I drove all the way to the doctors with the windows up and the AC off, and felt almost like I wasn’t sick. Didn’t sweat a single bead. I’m not saying this was a good thing to do, I’d much rather have stayed in bed and continued wishing that the world would have the decency to stop existing for a few moments, but it was an interesting phenomenon.
The way my family treats fever is the second it seems you have one you are COVERED in blankets and forced lukewarm liquids not allowed out untill you're better, so normally 1 to 2 days. It is usually a warm heaven but if it's caught early it feels like hell😅 I swear by this method, I think "helping" your body stay warm and retain the heat gets the healing process done in a timely manner
It's your skin shivers that make the fever way worse. If you can keep your body warm enough to reduce stress of your body producing the heat, you can get rid of the shivers and some of the lethargy. Another way I love is to take a near scalding-hot shower for 5 minutes. No shivers, skin pain is gone, headache mostly gone. But, you should definitely lie in bed afterwards because hot water can trigger your body to cool down.
Yeah, just have medical saunas for sick people. It doesn't make sense not to do it. And the sauna place could sign a doctor's note to get you out of work. It seriously is nonsensical that no one in the medical industry has thought of this.
I had covid for the very first time last year. No fever, but my blood pressure and heart rate was sky high, I felt dizzy for a couple months, and I had constant diarrhea. I survived. I caught covid again a few weeks ago, and I had a fever for a couple days, and a mild dry cough for a week. I have no doubt that my body knows how to deal with covid now.
Same. The first time I got covid it was hell. I had an awful fever, lost about half my taste and all my smell, muscle cramps, dizziness, shortness of breath (which was scary cause I have asthma). Whole thing lasted for almost a month. Second time it wasn't that bad at all. Only sick for about 10 days, but everything was much manageable. Never felt so proud of my body kicking butt (also glad for that vaccine, worked wonders).
Man, you guys keep turning up the quality on the animations. It's looking so polished. Nice work. It must take ages to get this result. Keep working hard team, we love your work!
Most of the feel bad symptoms are your body actively waging ear against the infection. From sinuses swelling to slow down invaders, mucus to trap them, stomach being purged in either direction to flush them out.
Without a clear understanding of the root causes of sickness, it makes sense to assess things by what can be observed.
still feel like shit
@@djones02yes. Most diseases can be cured by our own body. Doctors give medicines because people complain about the symptoms (because of the unpleasantness or they need to work). Hence the medicines are symptomatic rather than definitive. Only a few diseases actually need definitive therapy. Some other diseases are literally incurable and the only thing we can do is prevent the progression.

wow, our body and immune system is soooo beautiful, i'm crying 😭
i just know that fever is our body defense system, because HEAT will kill the virus and bacteries. we even use kemotherapy, which is HEATING UP, for cancer.
5:20 this explanation is wonderful!
hmm... since cancer cell is very good at camouflage, so the body not detecting something wrong and not activating fever that much, right? that's why kemotherapy exist.
is there a medicine to "actually" activate fever? not to suppress it?
imagine, we know we had something wrong in our body, but our body didn't response with fever, so no defense system.
we can "manually" heating ourselves with "something". also maybe that's why Work Out is good, because it makes our body HOT too, right? is Work Out have same theory as Fever?
also i usually use Heat Balm when i feel something bad in my body, like headache, or "cold" lung. the HEAT is really makes me feel better, and i hope by doing this, i heating up the cell in that area, then the cell invected will be produce more HSP, so the immune system inside me will know which cell that they should kill.

it's incredible to see how complicated the human body is and how we have a solution to nearly. every situation that goes on in it
The magic of the solutions is mitigated by the idea that there were 100 billion of us who have lived and died as trial and error of just our species, and seriously countless others of our progenitors before them.
The most incredible part is that immune system can generate almost any antibodies naturally even against the ones that never been infected.
Me : *gets infected
My immune system : "Don't worry. These microbes can't survive above 40°C."
Me : "But I also can't survive above 40°C."
My immune system : "I missed the part where that's my problem."
The immune system is like a bully that got surgically attached to you, except its been there since the moment it got established in your body in your mother's womb.
The infection can't kill you if you are already dead

Im so glad you guys covered this, because I’ve been asking myself about this for a while now!
When is it ever not okay to take something as benign as Tylenol?

I experience that every time i have a fever. Its so scary !!!
When I was a kid, I had a really bad 40c fever for a couple of days (maybe longer or shorter, I can’t remember), following a 39.5 fever for a week before then. I’m not sure what it was from, I didn’t get treatment for it but it was some waterborn pathogen, as far as I could guess (there was something being spread by water fountains around the area.)
My foster parents at the time refused to get me to the hospital, so I’m honestly surprised I didn’t get critically ill or anything.
I had my fever temperature at 41.1 Celsius when I was 6
The shaking and weakness are the worst

@@jaaaceofspades lmao yeah! But then we need someone from the future with an antidote?!
I’m with fever on this one. Will keep in mind to avoid anything with meds in it. Just vitamins and tea 🙌
thanks i am suffering from fever right now
That's a good idea to help the fever along. I have heard of provoking a fever by intentionally triggering your immune system to fight a chronic sickness that isn't causing a fever. And saunas can be useful too.
I've had a cold 3 times in a row in the past 3 weeks. I'm going to try your method next time - I'll report back if I remember I made this post 😁
@@MisterDibitybopty please do, many people I know that used it, it worked. All you are doing is helping your body to increase the temp. Be sure to hydrate and eat to some extent. Just crelax in bed, you will sleep a lot which is good as that is when your body does most of the repairs. 🙂 let me know

bro changed the thumbnail and thought i wouldnt notice
Idk why, the old one was great
UA-cam content creators can now do A/B testing with thumbnails, so it occasionally switches the thumbnail to see which one gets the most views and finally settles on that one. I think that's what the OP did, they designed 3 thumbnails to see which one works.
yup, as markus said it's almost certainly just them uploading the video with a few thumbnails and you randomly get served one or few of them.
Kurzgesagt has been doing it for a while now.

They did. Something about aging as a disease.
@@GloomGaiGar But not one for the consequences of one (or many) humans living forever. I second that.
I dont think most adults are suppressing fever because they feel bad but rather because they need to get back to work and a lot of places dont let you into the office unless your temp is low enough.
But, I get paid if I have a doctor's notice. Why would I want to transmit disease by working while sick?

HATS OFF! As a doctor, I can proudly say this is the simplest explanation one can get on the topic of fever! Well done Kurzgesagt Team!
I mean you basically just took a drive in a sauna? Many people appreciate a sauna when they're pretty sick and your experience reminded me of that.
@@gartengeflugel924 huh. I hadn’t thought of it like that. I suppose it is true though. Just without the pore-opening steam.
I'm amazed you guys made a website for your sources. That was incredible.
Never felt so proud of my body kicking butt (also glad for that vaccine, worked wonders).

rip that dude :((
I must admit that it never occurred to me that fever wasn't just a symptom of being sick, but one of the ways your body actively fights the illness.
Most of the feel bad symptoms are your body actively waging ear against the infection. From sinuses swelling to slow down invaders, mucus to trap them, stomach being purged in either direction to flush them out. Not pleasant and can absolutely get out of hand and always consult your doctor but that's the origin of it
This is like very basic knowledge of fever.
@@tioswift3676 Then I must be stupid! But I think there's a lot of people who thought as I did, which would seem to be an argument against it being "basic" knowledge. Basic for medical students, maybe. Not so basic for most people. You should feel very smart!
@@macsnafu As a CS who's always been rather poor at biology, it's definitely very basic knowledge of fever. It's just that most people don't have very basic knowledge of fever.
