does it retain the factory mic 🎤 or does it require a new mic ?
The RB10TUN14 will work with both standard and JBL audio systems. The factory microphone will only work with the factory radio. However, the new radio has both an external microphone that can be run to a spot of your choosing, or an internal microphone that is built into the radio screen for a clean, seamless look.

What unit works with a 2008 sequoia 5.7L with the dreaded and annoying JBL stereo system/amp?

Is wireless Apple carplay and Android auto or it needs to plug in?
For full Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality the device would need to be connected to the radio's USB port. As an alternative, basic audio streaming and handsfree calling can be done via Bluetooth.
Has anyone adjusted the equalizer settings? My factory unit sounded a bit better but I’m sure it just needs to be tuned.

Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality requires the device being used be connected to the USB port of the radio. Alternatively, you can do basic audio streaming and handsfree calling via Bluetooth.
