@@AJLoDato22 I have recently been having issues with Zlink (Apple CarPlay). It randomly stopped working. I have tried searching and trying everything but cannot figure it out. All bluetooth still works so I think it is an issue with Zlink. Any suggestions?
Hi AJ, thanks for the video. I'm seriously thinking of doing the same thing. But, I've negative reviews on Dasaita...are you still happy with it? Other than the mic issue and the high volume even at low settings, are you still happy with it?
Glad the video helped. Aside from the two issues you noted which are my biggest peeves, the head unit is amazing. I am still super super happy with it. Dasaita is a little iffy on quality. Some folks are saying the new G12 unit is a little less buggy, so I threw a link to that in my install video, too. If you currently don’t have CarPlay, I think you’ll be majorly happy with the upgrade.
at 7:27 of your video - you used a tucked away usb cable fpr the update. Why not run that cable to your factory usb/aux plug below the heater controls???
I found that the wireless CarPlay worked flawlessly, and I have a higher wattage charger for phone charging. Figured I’d only use the USB once in a blue moon for updates
Hello, i bought the Dasaita Head unit G12 for my car Nissan rogue SL 2019 and I’m worried about the cameras (specifically in the front and side cameras) because my old head unit has a physical camera button with 4 modes, I haven't seen any video talking about this feature on the Nissan Rogue SL brand 😢
Just chiming in, I plan on purchasing a rogue myself, and I also want to get the G12 head unit. I think it comes with the CANBUS and necessary wiring to support the 360 camera. The models Dasaita makes for specific car models are made with OEM replacement in mind.
Reverting to radio every time you start it is a dealbreaker in itself for me. The volume coming in full would really do it. I haven't used my radio once since I bought mine. Thanks for the video.
AJ, I'm in the market for a Dasaita for my 2019 Tundra 1794. I have a JBL, with JBL Amp. I have two questions. What are the differences between the Vivid and the Android 13? I don't know which one to go with. Also, is there an antenna attachment for the XM Radio or do you have to stream that service?
Hey! I believe their android unit is newer software - I would recommend it as the VIVID took a few updates to get the bugs out. Also, there isn’t an XM antenna so you’d have to stream it through the app. Hope that helps!
Hello! Great videos. Helped me install mine. Quick question about the microphone. Did you change yours? If so, can you share what you did? People complain that I sound like a walkie talkie. Thanks!
I ended up disconnecting mine and using the integral mic. It still isn’t that great, and I find myself talking on speakerphone fairly often. (I’m hopeful they get a better mic. It will really complete the head unit)
Thanks for the updates. However, you didn’t readdress the microphone. You’re using Toyota’s or the one that came with it? And the quality of what you’re using is…?
I thought of it after posting, and was bumming I didn’t update everyone. I have stuck with the integral Dasaita mic (not wired, the one on the screen). The integral mic is so-so. I bounce between that, and talking on my phones speakerphone.
Question: Do you still use the phone cable that it came with or do you use something else? Also i know you mentioned that the steering wheel controls work for the music, do they work for the phone as well?
I don’t know what you mean by the phone cable. My current setup for how I use it is fully cordless. For the steering wheel controls it’s two part. Non-CarPlay function the phone buttons work to get you into the dialer/contact list and hang up. The voice command takes you to google assistant (to google stuff) which doesn’t work unless you have a SIM card. In CarPlay the call buttons don’t work with CarPlay, but the voice command takes you to Siri (works great).
Question. Installed the radio and I love it. I did notice though that when I lock my truck or unlock it it doesnt beep at me anymore. How do I get it to beep again? I looked at my factory book and it tells how to do it with the original radio but not how to with the new one in. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Woah…weird issue. I looked into it, and the problem definitely exists for some but super uncommon. I haven’t found a fix, but I did verify my unit doesn’t have any setting options to turn it on. I’d email dasaita support.
Is there an auto dim setting? If so, is it comfortably dim at night? Purchased a different one for a different car and the lowest brightness setting was still too bright at night.
The dasaita for my 4Runner was horribly bright on the lowest setting. This one is very normal and perfect on med/low brightness. It does have an auto dim when your headlights on (just verified)!
You’re able to change it in the settings function. It’s under ‘theme’. I haven’t had problems hearing people, but some folks have complained that the mic wasn’t working well. Transparently I talk on speakerphone (on my cell) most of the time.
im considering this unit to replace my Phoenix Tesla Style HU. I would like to use the factory GPS antenna. Do you know if there is an adapter cable for the Dasaita.
It may, as the connector looks similar. The GPS box from dasaita is the small black one. Could be a good question for their customer service team on their website.
Quick question seems like my factory sounded louder with aftermarket speakers is there something I’m might be doing wrong on the volume sound or adjustment
Hmm do you mean this compared to your factory head unit? I’d play around with the audio settings. More so than just the equalizer, there are some gain options
Mine never had directions show up near the cluster (it is a 2015). Though I don’t know for sure, I wouldn’t think the directions would show there. Some watching this video may be able to help!
I have had mine for about a year. I have loved it. Now when I turn the car on the bottom lights light up but the screen just stays black. Any idea how to fix it or is it just done.
Thanks for the update. I put them on a flash drive and plugged it in and started the truck. It doesn’t seem to be doing anything. What do I need to do just wait or what. I can’t see anything happening because I just have the buttons lit up and a black screen. Thanks for any help
Will this unit allow my phone calls to sound better. Right now with the factory radio in my 2017 Toyota Tundra my phone calls sound like crap. Also, do you know what the difference is between the 6G +64G versus the 8G + 256G unit?
Truthfully, the one major downfall is microphone clarity with this head unit. It’s bad. For better sound, I’d recommend a name brand unit (Sony). For the data, I personally don’t see the extra coin being worth it for a 256G unless you intend to store data or use a SIM card.
@@jayloecken2490it allows you to play the phone through your speakers, but the external mic itself is very bad. So bad that I unplugged and reverted to the built in mic near the volume controls. In most cases, I use my phone on speaker whine when I drive.
