The latest version of MM8BDM has a side quest. Pharaoh Man asks if you can find 8 artifacts for him back at Earth. He gives you clues but if you want to net the secret boss fight and weapon as fast as possible then you've come to the right place.

As an aside, as you noted a few alternate weapons for other spots -- both of the rolling cutter walls can also be scaled with tornado hold (which is what I did) as that functions as an air current up; I also think Enker's Mirror Buster weapon counts as a shield to get through the fire wall hallway, if you wait until postgame to hunt down the artifacts.
Thank you for posting more alternatives for that step. Also, there is a walkway filled with spikes in the same area where you need a shield to get through. If you have skull shield you can walk on the spikes and make it to the next step.
i used sakugarne, but the first jump was a bit tricky. i dont know why, i just did

You can also use Tornado Blow to boost your jump and scale the two Wheel Cutter walls.

The New Yellow Devil has so many minions that my game lagged.
I didn't even notice this until now but there's some secrets on the walls

But I must ask. What do the artifacts spell out?
Never heard of Rockman strategy. I also have no idea what the artifacts spell out
They spell out "Lanfront" in standard galactic alphabet from the Commander Keen series.
It is a reference to the Lanfrant ruins from Super Adventure Rockman
