ah yes, finally I can understand the lyrics. When I saw “あして” in the title in the original video, for some reason I thought it was a cover of that one kikuo song "愛して" until I started listening to it lol.
It's really cryptic but after thinking about it you know "yara kai yubi yasashii kao...." lines "Your tender fingers and your ever-gentle face So they won’t be torn from me, this i think means "I smoothed your sweet face so gently you didn't even notice" (like they are sleeping and didn't even react to the "fingertip" stroke/smoothing, but i don't know it's really hard with no context
Haven't listened to a Maretu song in years, it's good to be dragged back! Thank you for the TL! It seems like a super interesting exercice, seeing how both lyrical adaptation and Japanese-English translation in itself require some fluidity and the ability to step away from literal meaning to pull off... it's interesting to see the results, at the very least! I see stuff like how you chose to render 逃がさないよのこと and am like ⸜(。˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝_this is great._ I know I've commented mainly on DR stuff till now but fan TLs absolutely butter my biscuit, so feel free to share more if you're so inclined! (also 0:12: "Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise/Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday..." ... All jokes aside, though, loving the song construction
