This Video is awesome, gives me flashbacks to when us swiss used Highways as landing strips Also the Sound at 5:04 is just so eargasmic and is truly legendary
@@encryptedaviation1452I think its the sound of all the compresser blades spinning up at once it creates this kind of blue note that sounds really cool. Could be wrong but thats what I think it is
I was stationed with the 13th Airbase Command in the swiss air force and used to hear that humming sound on a daily basis when i was there. amazing, i love the hornet
I've tried google but can't seem to find out where developers record the sounds used in flight simulator, from Microsoft to 3rd party creators. I'm beginning to think that they haven't been near any jets with sound teams, and instead used videos online or bought what has already been recorded for movies, heck maybe Paramount gave Microsoft their sound files from top gun maverick? Cool video here!

I worked around the C & D variants a lot during my time with the US Navy. That sound never got old!
It shows how accurate the DCS sounds are in the sim. Amazing
A F-18 pilot flew the DCS Hornet and said "it sounds totally accurate in cockpit".

Yes 🙂 It's truly a unique and awesome sound, great memories.
But that’s a sound from the engine when it starts up, I don’t understand, what makes that noise

DCS: F-18 Hornet uses actual sounds recorded inside the plane, outside the plane, at Air Force base and at manufacturer's facilities. Others, no idea.
DCS does it better
Hey, is that okay if I can use this sound effect for my Upcoming Top Gun Maverick recreation? Thanks. 🙏
Sounds are fine, cool if you credit "Siivet - Wings" for those. Cheers.
@@SiivetWings Thanks.
