Great job, Tommy and Andre! I enjoyed the analysis and the interview. The new Armada is what the new Sequoia should have been from a packaging standpoint. We have a 2nd gen Sequoia and were so disappointed in the 3rd gen with the solid rear axle, the awful 3rd row, and the storage solution. I'm intrigued by the Armada, but on pricing it will need to be a significant savings over the GM twins and Ford. Nissan has had many quality issues with the past generations across product lineups and needs to out-compete based pricing and features to regain their footing (at least until improved quality is proven).

I’m aware this is early to say anything about Nissan but based on the specs do you have any opinion ?
What is up with these sun roof and panaramic roof? That feature need to be just an optional feature. I hate them and have zero need for them whatsoever.
As much as it seems Americans love big SUV's we really don't buy them in as large of numbers as auto reviewers seem to think. If you add up all brands selling such vehicles and all version of each, including allow the Range Rover as a full size, in 2023 a total of just 464,931 full size suv's were sold in the U.S. That's 10 brands and 13 main and extended version's from those brands. That's an average of just 35,763 from each unique nameplate and an average of 46,493 per brand. By far the most popular was the Chevy Tahoe followed by the Yukon with somewhat more than 110,000 and over 82,000 (between Yukon and Yukon XL sales combined) sales respectively. So the vehicle with the lowest tow rating of the bunch sells the most. So, yes, while people do tow with these things massive towing capacity is hardly a major concern for buyers. And most folks, even so called truck guys, still think payload is what you can throw in the bed so not many concern themselves with payload or overloading it. People don't care much about the things car review sites think they do when buying a new car. Does it look good? Is it comfortable? Does it "feel" powerful enough? Did my daddy and his daddy own twenty seven vehicles from this manufacturer? Is it the right shade of blue? Does it have the giant screens I'll tire of in three weeks but still brag to my friends about? Those are the things that sell such vehicles if, that is, one can afford them anyway. Teenagers and adults with teenager mentality sit around on the internet and try to prove their favored brand is better than another brand they've never owned because one has 25 more horsepower on paper and 100 pounds more tow capacity. How both vehicles actually handle such a load is irrelevant to them. One because they'll never own either and two because they'll never tow anything their 1997 4 cylinder Tacoma couldn't already tow anyway. I don't mind guys talking about the numbers but pretending the numbers matter that much to buyers is silly. Oh, this one has 32 cubic feet of cargo space versus 34 on this other SUV, Barb. Yep, lets buy the one with 34 cubic feet sight unseen because obviously it's vastly larger. No, people go to the dealership and look with a very poorly trained eye and determine all their stuff will fit in one versus the other no matter what the rated numbers might be. The only numbers that matter to ninety five percent of buyers are the numbers in the price. The only opinion that matters to them is their own and maybe uncle Steve who gives terrible advice but he "knows" cars. Even cars that are brand new and he has no experience with.

Really good interview. I stopped thinking about Nissan as a high quality brand sometime ago. All the CVTs that failed. The failing small diesels. The new Armada looks terrific and I hope it’s a success for them. But I am skeptical on any quality claims.
Okay, unless you're in a different market there weren't any small diesels in the U.S. unless you consider the Titan XD's Cummins. And their CVT's were bad but their trucks have never had them and have been equally reliable on average as anything Toyota has ever put out. You're comparing apples and oranges and determining not only that the extremely reliable apples were as bad as the oranges but also that the oranges haven't improved drastically.
The US never got the real Nissan Patrol. Different frame, diff, suspension, strucutal rigidty. You got the SUV mall version. Go check out what the real Nissan Patrol is about off-road. Middle- East, Africa, Australia. Y61 and Y62. It was literally built in a different and in a different factory all together. Now, the Y63 Patrol is finally the same as the rest of the world gets.

So Excited! Looking forward to more videos on the Armada. I presently own an older (2013) Dodge Durango which I love but it only has a V-6 with 3500# tow rating. Next spring/summer I want to upgrade. I presently have to use my husbands Toyota Tundra to tow anything. I need to tow a 7,500# horse trailer, a 6,000# cargo trailer & a 2-seater UTV on a trailer. I want ALOT of cargo space (I have 2 large dogs + camera gear). I also need the ability to car camp occasionally while taking on/off road photography trips. As a petite female, the suspension lowering to get in/out + load cargo (aka: big dogs) sounds fantastic!! I have looked at ALL the new SUV's and have ruled out most of them (due to price). I am hoping the new Off-Road Armada might be the answer to my problem. I am hoping to be under $60,000, so I hope Andre is close on his price estimate! Really looking forward to seeing more Armada test videos!! Please don't forget, women need off-road SUV's that tow just as much as men. There are alot of horsewomen in this country that do trail riding or other equestrian activities but still need to move kids, dogs, bags of feed, etc. I feel the SUV market focus's alot on soccer mom's but forgets about all the dog, horsey or goat mom's needing to haul & tow - usually down bumpy dirt roads!
I think I'd still go with the Tahoe (or better yet, the Yukon). But this is a solid alternative. I think this matches up nicely against the Sequoia. Big improvement over the previous model... which was just okay-ish.
It blows my mind that they stopped the back glass from popping open . I am on my 5th Armada Platinum Reserve 4wd, so I am loyal to the brand but that's the one thing I miss so much. It's a safety and convenience thing both. Hate having to wait on entire back to open just to throw in a package or have everything fall out when loaded for vacation. I will say the suspension has declined on my last two and it absolutely wobbles all over the road, can't take bumps and feels like a covered wagon bouncing . My husband is forbidding another one because he hates trying to drive it due to it being all over the road.
At the 34 min mark you launch into a disparaging tirade against turbo-charged V6s because they don't sound cool enough for you. Lets revisit the purpose of the cars engine... Contrary to your assertions, it exists to provide power to move the vehicles, not to make noises you like. Sound plays no part in driving dynamics, so lets let this trope die already please.
RELIABILITY with modern turbo systems depends on timely maintenance most notably OIL CHANGES as well as Coolant changes.
the heat to the pistons/cylinders that twin turbo will put on them is definitely going to cause concerns.

And these same fools comment on Nissan truck videos using the CVT issue even though Nissan's trucks have never used a CVT at least here in the U.S. Don't know about all over seas offerings. You can't help some folks.
Lies!
I agree. I have 2010 Murano 229K with original transmission and still accelerate like a rocket
Australia has the warrior package. Will we see that trim in the US anytime soon?
Having brent here with this review is special
I think it looks great. Hope it’s enough to keep Nissan afloat.
33:45. WE DON’T WANT SOUNDS. WE’RE NOT TRAILER PARK JUNKIES. WE WANT SMOOTH QUIET REFINEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And calling that racket “character” or “it has soul” is just putting cologne on a turd.
Speak for yourself mate
Thats the diff between car enthusiasts and people who just drive cars.
Yeah but does it drive like a 20 year old bus like the last one???
We did not get to drive it yet, but we will soon.
@@TFLtruckkeep me updated
Im in a 2024 loaner platinum addition and it is like riding on a cloud. Beautiful vehicle
20 yr old bus?
@@occckid123ok, you’re right, pardon me, 25 year old bus.
A little too late. Nissan is falling way behind.
Give me a 2nd row bench seat as well as a 3rd row delete.
2nd row bench is standard I believe, but I agree a 3rd row delete option would be nice.
3rd row seat can fold flat for cargo unlike in the new gen sequoia
@@Ezone_X Which is great (and one of the reasons I’ve ruled out the Sequoia) but some people who don’t need that 3rd row would rather delete to gain payload and storage space where those seats normally reside in the stowed position.
Honda nor Acura even compete in this space. They are so behind
Why don’t they call it Nissan patrol in the US?
we have been saying that for years it is a LC 300 competitor
i want a live rear axle
Great Job Branton Appreciate 👏🏻
Overall I think Nissan did a great job with the new Armada! It should definitely compete well with all the other full size SUVs.
Love your car video
Wow! Another Google car! There is no more privacy. I am running out of cars I can buy :(
HUD??
Website lists a HUD.
Sweet
NISSAN STABILITY QUALITEN CARS. NISSAN/INFINITY CARS NO NEEDS REKLAMS.
Call it the Patrol get rid of the name Armada
yes
100%, Because it is! armada is rebadge patrol!
@@Ezone_X armada is a dumb nane
@@Ezone_X or a extreme off road model call it patrol
I think I'd still go with the Tahoe (or better yet, the Yukon). But this is a solid alternative. I think this matches up nicely against the Sequoia. Big improvement over the previous model... which was just okay-ish.
The armada will have a Much stronger chance at having a transmission that lives 200,000+ miles. Also no lifter / cam issues.
Does Nissan have upper hand on Land Cruiser now? 🤔
100%. The new Y63 Patrol will detrone Land Cruiser 300 series anytime soon! Y63 for all aspects!
@@Ezone_X yes in the U.S. they should offer a true off road model and name it Nissan Armada patrol or patrol
You should have asked the guy why not a redesigned Titan
This has a JATCO transmission not known for good reliability. Why? The redesigned Nissan Pathfinder has a nine speed ZF transmission.
Great interview. Very tight - precise. Looking forward to aTFL challenge between competitors.
The "piano" key shifter is a horrible idea!! cant wait for kids to push buttons.....
