SUCH a BEAUTIFUL song. I really wasn't expecting to get so emotional during this film but it happened and just the whole scene was so powerful. Everything about it from the lyrics to the melody to the scenery. It was magical.
@@Joe-vz1ckI was caught aback, for sure. Ate an eighth of mushrooms before I went in. I expected Wonka wackiness, and i got it... but then BAM!! stiff-armed with The Feels.
@@julisommer1246It’s so clever the way the pair of them essentially sing to themselves. Noodle voicing her trepidation about allowing a little of the joy into her life that she’s been deprived of. Wonka, seemingly oblivious, just goes off on a flight of fanciful wordplay with Noodle at the centre of it. Sharing the abundance of innocence that his careworn young friend should still have.
I cried at this scene too it was so heartfelt and full of love. This song is so beautiful and uplifting I've listened to this so much since seeing Wonka 2 days ago im absolutely in love with this movie and can't wait for the DVD release I've already got it on pre-order 😊
I didn't have many expectations when I came to the theater with my kids to entertain them. However, this movie actually amazed me with its story, characters, acting, and cinematography. I cried while watching this scene. When I left the theater after 2 hours, I realized that I had become much happier. It was the kind of movie that will make you feel like life is something worth living, and life is nothing without pure imagination.
Yes for sure. Had not realised I was feeling seasonal misery at the weather, but I clearly was, because I was elated upon leaving this film. And this song is the first one I've looked up on youtube because it was so beautiful. Everyone involved in the making of the film should feel very proud of their work.
I really hope that the clip is uploaded on UA-cam soon because the visuals of this scene are as lovely as the song. Them running together and dancing was heartwarming. Truly a beautiful song and film.
this is absolutely my most fav out of all the others ;; it's just so well made, noodle's gloomy pessimistic view of life colliding with willy's infectious joyful personality with his nonsense rhyming, noodle ended up sounding happy and the two of them giggling, everything is just so perfect 😭💕
Neil Hannon under the Divine Comedy has been creating beauty like this for over 30 years. You probably know his music from Father Ted, IT croud and the song National Express but his back catalogue is criminally underrated and under played on radio.
This song was the one that identified me the most. The lyrics say everything I can't say in person and to others. Along with "A World of Your Own" which made me cry, because a simple song; their music and lyrics make me feel safer with their words than my own parents...
I don’t know why, but Noodle basically saying that Wonka, a complete and total stranger who she’s only known for a day (if that), is the rainbow in her lonely world of abuse and neglect is one of the greatest things about this movie.
The instrumental bit when they dance on top of the building is AMAZING. I also love all the key changes. Even though it does keep the same sounds as the first verse throughout the song, it makes it feel like it’s a completely different mood when it key changes, which is so cool. I love it.
I'm not sure why but i didnt see a single Ad for this movie. If only i knew I would have taken my son to the cinema but we watched this at home and we all cant stop listening to these songs. My 6 year old asked me to put 'Hatful of Dreams' as his wake up alarm. Great move and songs! Hope they turn it into a West End musical

My favourite song. Just love how Wonka brings Noodle into his whimsical world & gives her a glimpse into seeing the silver lining. Also love how the melody starts off simple & just builds into pure magic! 🪄 ✨ 🎶🍫
Judging from the reactions of the crowd in the cinema today I wouldn't be surprised if this song will be one of the nominees for best original song at the Academy Awards next year. I think even the last person unsure if they would enjoy a film heavily relying on nostalgia were sold with after this number.
Absolutely love this song. Listening to it on repeat and sometimes it makes me teary 🥺 Its so pretty and her lines are so heartfelt and his lines just make me laugh. The combination of her lines being heartfelt and coming from a place of not being able to trust others, contrasted with his goofy lightheartedness and fun, somehow it works together and I just love it
I've seen the film twice now and love the music! This is my favourite song in the film - beautifully done. Makes me cry every time I hear it. Just beautiful!
If you look at this as a prequel to the 1971 film it makes it better. Charlie Bucket's innocence probably reminded him of Noodle. It benefits both films.
