So much information in so little time! Great work here on the black pine. I was overwhelmed looking at it in the crate. Then you pulled it out and once you took off the 2 lower branches I could see more clearly. Thank you for sharing.
Omg the studio looks amazing loving the log burner, it’s so satisfying watching you at work the trees look amazing too, looking like a visit is on the cards soon 😜
Corin i love your videos, but you should invest in a micro to put on your clothes. It would make the audio part of your videos as good like the video itself😊👍 really like your channel. Keep up the top notch work!
I wish that you could ship to the US I would love to have a tree that you have started to make a pre bonsai just in the first stages of training and one from Peter Chan also I love what you both style your trees
Its interesting to see the timings of the seasons northern hemisphere vs south, Here in NZ the hottest part of our summer is really only just beginning and you guys are about to hit spring.
@@KitakuBonsai Well in Auckland the hottest we had tis summer was only about 27C. Winter this year as we are getting into El Nino is forecast to be colder than normal. We typically get -3 here on a cold day.
Nice work. Just a few questions pls. I'm in south africa and i was taught at my club that jbp should have their roots worked on in oct month.(your april). Do you also do this type of work later? March/april? I also have some jbp seedlings in a tray atm. Germinated in oct,so they are roughly 3 months old. Should i leave them till our spring to repot? It's very hot here atm. Mid 30's c. Thanks.
Do you protect the trees from frost now after repotting or can they take that? And is it possible for all native species to repot now, or better wait for another month? Thanks :)
Hi Corin, I see you use a 1/1/1 mix of akadama, kiryu and pumice. I always thought kiryu is the same as pumice. Could you change the kiryu to lava instead?
I'd say pumice and lava are more similar, so if you use lava, pumice and akadama, it will be very free draining. So depends on your climate (not sure where you are) and how you water.
Hey corin great video . I just bought one of these last year. This year i want to approach graft one of its own branches into the trunk how do i know when the branch has taken to cut it? Will the trunk roll over the graft? Also had one person tell me to just fit the graft into the trunk without skinning back to the cambium on the graft and it will still take. Would this be ur preffered method or skin the cambium and line it up with the trunks cambium? Thanks corin
I am surprised to see the black pines up in Nottingham. Peter Warren has mentioned that he does not grow them due to the lack of sufficient light for them to prosper so he mainly favors Scotts pine. I believe he is in the London area.
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio Do you often get 2 flushes of growth a year on them? I remember him saying his successful customers had to grow them under lights so maybe that was what he was talking about-need to go back and rewatch that video.
OK, I checked and he was referring to the problem with getting double flushes from black pone due to the variability in weather in England where a wet, rainy, cool summer may result in the second flush not coming on after decandling in late spring. It is at 18:40 in his video on pine candle pinching.
Always a pleasure to watch a pro at work
I pressed ‘like’ before watching. Knew it was going to be good….thanx for all you put into these videos. Can’t wait for the next one …
I second that!
Came over last week and got a lovely Western hemlock. You were busy as usual. Keep growing.xx
One of my favourite trees, Hemlock

Thanks Corin
Nice demonstration of practical technique for developing a pine. Thank you.
Really helpful stuff. Pines have been harder for me through the years

Thanks glad you like the vids, we tried a mic like that and it wasn't so good, and picked up even more scissor noise when pruning.
A true artist.

Hello mr Corin, interesting video. What's your opinion: could the same procedure work for Scots Pines?
Thank you for another great video.
Thanks for watching!
Would enjoy a follow up on this video
Very Nice, Show!
Wish yall could ship to the US. Wish they made it easier to ship from country to country.

Yes, we do it normally in March time, but I have to start earlier due to workload and sheer number of trees.
@@greenwoodbonsaistudio thanks for the reply. Do you ever get ones that die or struggle badly?
Nope
I would love to buy one from you as they are when they arrive. Are they for sale in that state ..
Not now all nicely trimmed and on the website

I would wait, unless you have 100's to do (like me )
Cracking material that

@@greenwoodbonsaistudio Thanks for the advice. I´m from Belgium, so quite wet climate.
See you at the Trophy ?
These plastic pots have no central holes. How can you expect good drainage ?
They have drainage inside the feet as they are the lowest point on the base of the pot
It's a shame we can't buy this outside the UK.
Honestly it’s a shame

I’m would remove the bark to get better cambium contact

When is the best time to cut the graft away?
Once you are 100% sure it’s taken. 😁😁
