Most comprehensive video I’ve seen so far, and I’ve seen a lot. Yes, it is long, but you went through all of the features, which most people skip over. Good job!! I just bought a Model X and have been looking for a comprehensive video to show me all the features that are glossed over before I get my car in 2 weeks and you did the job.
I'm in texas as well. I have a newish(3yrs old) Hyundai sonata hybrid ...I wish I knew about Tesla before I spent 30k on a hybrid limited😭 my goal is to save and buy a model x in a few years. 🤞
Hello and thank you for that video. Just a few questions. How is the ride quality and wind noise on the Tesla Model X P100D? Do you get any road noise from the tire while on the highway? What size tire did you get for your Model X P100D, and what charger do you use to charge your Model X. Im still struggling as to why I would get the Model X P100D, and not the Model X 100D/ . Look forward in hearing from you
Hi David, thanks for the comment. The ride quality is excellent and the wind noise is minimal on the Model X, much less than the earlier Model S vehicles. I will saw as far as road noise from the tires it was quieter than a 2013 Model S60 that I had driven in. This one has the 22' wheels and the ride quality is still excellent despite the large wheels. For the P100D that is the size I would go with as they will have slightly better cornering performance. As for the charger I have been using the Mobile connector with 220V in my garage, but will be installing a High Power Wall Connector shortly. The P100D is about 40k more than the 100D, the biggest difference being really the power. In day to day driving you will likely not even max out the performance of the 100D. The 100D is already a fast SUV, I would recommend driving one and you can put it in simulated 100D mode. The P100D is really aimed at car people who want an incredibly fast vehicle for racing. Either way you cannot go wrong, and you can actually get some fairly large adjustment on inventory models of the P100D that brings down the price difference. Make sure to use my referral code to get free supercharging for life, expiring at the end of this month. ts.la/marie45592 Let me know if you have any other questions!
Tom's Garage Thank you for getting back to me. Very much appreciated. Looking forward to your upcoming video. Will be one of your new subscribers. You answered my question. Saw of few videos out there and they make it seemed like the P100D ride was a bit harsh and the wind noise was a bit high, so it someone turned me off the Tesla. Thank you for your honest answer
I personally own this car and i think that if you can afford the p100d on my car I have the largest rim ( cant quite remember what inch ) very minimal noise from the road and we put a 100 as the electricity bill isn’t as much here overall if ou can afford the extra bit to get the P100D. Sorry its so late but its fun bragging about the car :)
@Tom's Telsa Garage Did it come with vented seats that cool down with air? I thought they were standard on the P100D model esspiecally at a 170k price tag. Also, why 170k? For me, when I build the P100D and add all of the auto drive features and add 7 seats the price comes to 151k (BEFORE SAVINGS)
joewillgo negative on vented seats, Tesla hasn’t put them in yet which is a shame because I love them on my raptor. This one has the optional wheels as well which bumps up the price, and I think Tesla lowered the price for some of the options.
loved Ur Video... Would U pls make mention of the year, that this is the 2018 Model X in review... maybe if could actually see the invoice, year, model, etc... otherwise, great job & very informative!
Ben Whoever no need to worry, they designed the plug for use in the rain and electricity doesn’t flow until the car sends a signal to the charger that everything is okay
Yes I heard that from someone else and have yet to try. I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it makes sense because I was expecting it to be faster!
So some say that the "performance" easter egg doesn't either keep it in a battery (like 75D) and goes back to P100D or it doesnt go back to P100D and keeps it in (like 75D). Have you noticed any problems?
Tom's Garage no no, i meant that the Battery model could get stuck so if we say you want to experience a 75D but you have a P100D. The Performance egg could make the 75D stuck and not go back to P100D mode. :)
1. It's not a 2018. Tesla model years are based on manufacturing date. And its not 2018 yet. 2. It's not gull wing doors. They are Falcon wing doors. There IS a difference. Google it.
It is easy with a Regular car you can put gas in it and go tesla you have to wait for a while until it is done charging that takes forever i would be late getting to my destination if i had a tesla
vipers2804 that’s an interesting comment, do you drive more than 300 miles a day where you would need to charge during the day? I only charge over night and never have to waste time at the gas station. We just did a road trip half way across the country and took about the same as with a gas car.
Tom's Tesla Garage where do you take it if their a problem with the car the car shops here does not know anything about how to fix a Tesla and I bet it would be so Expensive to get fix
vipers2804 Tesla picks it up from your house and leaves a loaner. I only buy new vehicles or ones still under warranty so I can’t speak to out of warranty repairs.
I’ve never ridden a Tesla yet but hope to one day

Arieh Whisenhunt glad you found it useful Arieh, I bet you can’t wait for your X to come in!
At 32:51, he said early morning, listen closely LOL
Awesome video...do you know how to turn on the Tesla dance.? I’m expecting my unit soon

You can only get the black 22s for the 2018 now.
Byron Stanga yes Tesla changes a ton of options in terms of pricing and what’s available

msi detj thanks! Take a look at the 54:30 mark
what if outside is raining cats and dogs, how do you make sure no water when you plug the thing onto your car?
Ben Whoever no need to worry, they designed the plug for use in the rain and electricity doesn’t flow until the car sends a signal to the charger that everything is okay
Great video, thank you. Love your dog. Dogs make everything better.
Andrew A thank you and yes they do! We bring Ace everywhere we can
Own this car and it’s insane!!!
Next time put it in Ludicrous+ mode and have 95% battery charge. Then the acceleration will be 30% quicker!
Yes I heard that from someone else and have yet to try. I didn't think it would make that big of a difference, but it makes sense because I was expecting it to be faster!
Falcon wing, come on !!

Love Richardson hmm you know I will say that there wasn’t a huge difference between the modes, so that would make sense to me

Yeah it’s not like I’ve seen any cars that are 2019 models. WOW THEY MUST ONLY COME OUT ON NEW YEARS
I just noticed you’re in Austin too!!
Yeah I live close to Ft. Worth

Very well done!
If you drive a lot and your time is expensive, I'd get the largest pack I can to increase time between charges and charge faster.
Did you qualify for the $7,500 off?
Munish Persaud yes you can still get the full 7500 federal tax credit!
Tom's Garage So then you totaled to $170 after tax I suppose?
For the time he was charging his car I would’ve been long gone it don’t take me long just putting gas in it and go
vipers2804 again I never normally charge during the day, Car is fully charged and ready to go for 300 miles every morning.
53:47 It’s because you don’t have auto lane change on:
$170k Damn!
Where did you get $170,000 go on the website it is not that it is 155,000 p 100 D
Ronald Fish directly off the window sticker, it says total vehicle price is $169,500.
I LOVE TESLA I want a Tesla but I’m 13 years old 😢😭😭
I was going to say something true but then I saw how little the comments were numbered. In its stead, that’s a whole lot of mula
coul
Display laging
way overpriced
Yeah the Model S that I bought for $30k was definitely a better value.
