Has anybody noticed how Fincher almost never lets the viewer think that the camera is operated by humans? The movement is just so smooth, still and linear!
That's because the camera is never handheld. Fincher hates handheld camera and camera shakes. He prefers to just plop the camera on a tripod and have it be stationary
2:44
Exactly. I've noticed it so many times. He's a master of camera work. There's a video by Nerdwriter. He explains so beautifully how Fincher controls a camera. I'll link it down below. Please watch it.

One of the few movies made in the 90s that looks like it was made yesterday. Good job by David Fincher and Jeff Cronenweth.

1rst rule of Fight Club: You do not talk about Fight Club.

This is by far the best Fincher movie. Also one of my favorite movies..Technically phenomenal and a masterpiece for how it represents the criticism of today's society. Even Norton and Pitt are top notch.
Fincher gives very subtle hints throughout the movie that Tyler doesn't exist.
Look at 2:50 for example.
The guy only nods to Edward Norton
That's true, but even more interesting question is does Marla Singer exist?

I need to say it: Fight Club is the most intense and the best movie of all time. I don't think David Fincher is a real master of filmmaking, but this... This is a fucking masterpiece. It changes you.
why don't you think he's master?
@@scottbennici4689 he is a great filmmaker and one of the best ones working today but...I think a real master of filmmaking is a guy which has never made a bad movie. I watched this movie yesterday for the first time! For some reason I figured out the plot twist at the very beginning when he was in the plane, HOWEVER, it still kept me at the edge of my seat the entire time which says a lot about a movie. The ending was really perfect.
i watched it fully baked and let me tell you it was an insane experience.
Can you please explain me the ending i didn't understand it. He shoot himself and watches the explosion with Marla, what does it actually means and what is connects with film.
Really wish Jeff Cronenweth was shooting Fincher's new movie, they are amazing together. Fight Club, Social Network, Gone Girl all are such gorgeous movies.

“Stop trying to control everything and just let go.”
“This is your life and it’s ending one minute at a time.”
“I let go. Lost in Oblivion. Dark and silent and complete. I found freedom. Losing all hope was freedom.”
“Maybe self improvement isn’t the answer. Maybe self destruction is the answer.”
“On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.”
“We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.”
“I don’t wanna die without any scars.”
“I felt like putting a bullet between the eyes of every Panda that wouldn't screw to save its
species. I wanted to open the dump valves on oil tankers
and smother all the French beaches I'd never see. I wanted
to breathe smoke.”
“We just lost all cabin pressure.”
“You met me at a very strange time in my life.”

Jeff Cronenweth deserved an Oscar
He made a 1999 movie that didn't look like something from the 90s
But it does look very (late) nineties.
Compare it to "Dark City", "Gattaca", "Strange Days", to a lesser degree (apart from colours/light) "eXistenZ".
