They'll say the beauty of the electric car is that its propulsion is near silent. FWIW, it's very current to pipe in engine noises. This Porsche doesn't have any screens that look added on. Bravo to that.
I have to agree that it’s the one to buy if you have the money, but you have to acknowledge the range deficit compared to Tesla, and the lack of super charging network. Those are huge differences.

I had ago in a P100D and was blown away by the performance but it was clear that the rest of the car wasn't a very premium product compared to the other big automakers. I realised then that the Tesla's party trick would be short lived before others caught up and did the rest of the car better too. Charging network availablity is what the volume customers will come for. Great vud thanks for sharing👍
For those not familiar with the Taycan, Turbo and S are just model designations. There is no turbo on the electric motor and it's not a hybrid, it's pure electric. The Turbo S model is the top of the line model designation. You get a faster motor or bigger batteries (or both). Guess they went with a naming convention / hierarchy that Porsche owners would understand (ie 911 Turbo S is a top model in the 911 lineup).
You may have been a little overzealous with the descriptions of the speed: It's the same 0-60 as a Tesla Model S. Really I think they overpriced this by around $50k. You can maybe find $50k of styling, nicer interior bits, etc... But you can't find $100k.
Watching your review of this car is so much better than Doug Demuro. He worships Tesla more than Scotty Kilmer worships Toyota. Sure we all want this porsche but 95% of us can not afford this car. Maybe in 10 years could we afford a used one. If Tyler Hoover hadn't exposed them as horrible dealership, it could have been him doing this review. Glad it is you doing the review.
Total damage control move by Porsche dealer but JR gets content so its a win. Not sure us JR subs are the dealer’s target audience though. Even if I had the money I don’t think I would buy a “turbo” electric car for over $200k.

To use Launch Control you hold brake then accelerator and then release the break. Then you get 750hp. Front callipers are 10 piston, rear are 6 piston. Try a Taycan 4S only $110k and has reasonable performance.

On many high-end luxury cars post-2000, as the electronics start to age, the manufacturers assume the customers will just buy the latest model. Car makers like BMW and Audi don't seem to worry too much about the 3rd and 4th owners. That's why it's possible to pick up top-of-the-line luxury cars 10 or 15 years old, for a tiny fraction of their original purchase price. Often analog classic cars are more desirable than the later, highly computerised models. Old-school mechanical parts can be fabricated or bought second-hand, outdated electronics can be much more difficult and expensive to fix.
Amazing car and I would love to either take one for a drive or even just ride in it. One thing that I find weird though is the wheels. The silver around the rim screams "CHEAP" to me. Almost like a steel wheel with a rim only hubcap. I feel like if it were to be two tone it should be polished

Ahhh this thing is so good.... those brakes are YUUUUUGE. I'm still a bit conflicted on them carrying the "Turbo" sub brand over to this one. When I hear Turbo, I think exhaust driven turbocharger, which doesn't make sense for an electric car. But, I get that it's insanely fast and turbo works for that, but don't like it still haha

Because, it's 0-200km/h (0-124mph) acceleration is still quicker than the Model S Performance, despite that new Tesla update. I mean, it takes the Taycan Turbo S less than 10s to reach 124mph, from a standstill. On the other hand, I'm not even such the Model S Performance can accomplish the feat under 11s. But that is just amazing what Porsche has done with the Taycan. And especially when you consider it is a sedan that weighs over 5000 lbs.

Speed is not everything, all of the rest Model S doesn't have it. Tesla is good for american car, but it is not Porsche.

Actually, I think the Model S Performance should launch to 60mph quicker with the new "cheetah mode" update Tesla recently released.
And Taycan's figure is probably not even actual numbers because Porsche always underrate their figure for their cars by 0.3-0.5 sec
