  • Perhaps the most controversial issue in Christian-Muslim dialog is the subject of child marriage. Today, it's not hard to find Muslims expressing a wide variety of opinions, ranging from it was never a part of Islam, to it was allowed but only for the past, to it's valid today. This wasn't always the case. For more than 1000 years, scholar after scholar openly talked about the practice of child marriage and prepubescent sex, with virtually no disagreement. MK joins me live to take a "deep dive" into what the Sharia scholars wrote about child marriage in their fiqh manuals. Warning: their depravity might be hard to swallow for the uninitiated.
MK's research document containing all the references in the video is available for download at drive.google.com/file/d/1haBJ...

The `Iddah of Those in Menopause and Those Who do not have Menses
Allah the Exalted clarifies the waiting period of the woman in menopause. And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her `Iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surat) Al-Baqarah. see 2:228 The same for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their `Iddah is three months like those in menopause.

Quick summary of the different schools' takes on religious CSA:
Regarding a wife copulated with before her completing nine years, the Hanafis observe: 'Iddah is wajib on her even if she is a child. The Maliki and the Shafi’i schools state: 'Iddah is not wajib on a minor incapable of intercourse, but wajib on one who is capable even if she is under nine. The Imami and the Hanbali schools do not consider 'iddah wajib on a minor under nine years even if she has the capacity for intercourse. Hi Thaddeus and any other person with knowledge.
I made a claim in a conversation, that the sharia law allows the rape of women not wearing a hijab. I know some Pakistani men feel justified for doing so, but is this something that is tolerated, as long as you don't talk about it or is this actually allowed. With actually allowed I include statements like: "Women wear a hijab to show that they are a free woman who shall not be raped." or "Slaves women are not allowed to wear a hijab, to show that they can be touched by anyone."

    • @ReasonedAnswers
      @ReasonedAnswers  9 місяців тому +6

Islam (sharia) doesn't have a concept of rape to begin with, only legal sex and illegal sex, so you certainly won't find such a statement. Since the woman in such a scenario is unmarried, it would fall under illegal sex, HOWEVER the party mainly at fault would be the woman since she "seduced" men by not covering.

If an 18-year-old man comes to you and says he’s getting married, you’d question his decision-making skills. You’d think he’s getting married too early. Similarly, if an 18-year-old woman tells you that she’s getting married, you’d ask her to do a “reality check” and may be even discourage her by telling her she’s too young, and she should go to college or build a career.
Even though 18 is the legal age most countries, does anyone today really believe that an 18-year-old is ready for marriage?
Does "one size fits all" really work for determining a minimum age? Should the fact that girls mature earlier than boys be taken into account? Or, should we just ignore biology and make it the same for both girls and boys in the name of “equality”?
The minimum age for marriage has been increasing worldwide. In all pre-modern traditional cultures, it wasn’t unusual for girls to consummate marriages between the ages of 10 and 12 and that was considered normal back then, but not today. No one found it surprising to marry a 10- to 12-year-old girl. In fact, if you read your great-grandmother’s biography, you’d be shocked and surprised to see how young she was when she got married! But that was the norm.
In modern societies, girls are highly discouraged from getting married early, even at 18. Early marriage is considered bad. They’re told that education and careers are far more important and beneficial for a young woman than marriage and having children. Movies and TV shows constantly show career women as happy, smart, and successful, and house wives and homemakers as miserable and losers.
In pre-modern cultures, girls would look forward to getting married and start a family. They did not see it as we see it today. They saw marriage as a benefit--social and financial benefit. They did not see it as a burden, like we do today. That was the norm for them. And this was true in all religions-Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, etc. It was also true in also all countries, cultures, and regions of the world. No one thought it was weird. Late marriage was actually looked down upon.
Today, however, things are opposite. We find it weird. We don’t like early marriage. We’ve been indoctrinated in schools. We are told that it's always better for a woman to have a career and work than to have children and raise them. Women are taught to delay marriage for career.
And how has all this impacted woman? Are they happier now than ever before because they're so "empowered"? Just look at the statistics. Happiness is consistently going down. And men and children are also negatively impacted. The result is that most Western nations, which are champions of women's rights and empowerment, are in decline-population is imploding. Europeans are simply not having enough babies. Birth rate has fallen dangerously low to beyond replacement levels. Europe has no future. They need humans. They need immigrants to power the economy and pay taxes. But immigrants are hated in Europe. Marriage is ruined.
Easy Shareable link to this content: tinyurl.com/EarlyMarriageTruth
Big business and politicians do not like early marriage because it’s bad for the economy. Women entering the workforce helps increase the supply of labor which in turns lowers wages. Businesses and corporations benefit when there are more women in the workforce. Women who work consume more and spend more. So, it’s good for business to have working women. The governments and corporations want to influence women for their own benefit. They don't want the fathers and husbands making decisions. That's why patriarchy is demonized. Women are told to not be slaves to their husbands and fathers so they can be more “empowerment”. But they only end up becoming slaves of corporations. Women are told that men will dump them and leave them poor. Thus, they should not trust them. Instead, they should trust the Big Biz and Big Gov! The Big Biz and Big Gov will take care of them better than their husbands and fathers! There's nonstop propaganda and indoctrination via education and mass media. We constantly hear of stories of abused women. This scares and terrifies women into distrusting men. It forces them into delaying marriage and pursuing careers to protect their financial future. The fear is real. Fear is the greatest motivator.
We’re told that it’s perfectly normal for a woman to have both a career and raise children at the same time. While this may work for some (a minority), it does not work for all women. It harms them and the society. Many women get burnt out trying to juggle jobs and raising kids. It's too much.
We expect women to work like they have no kids, and have kids like they don't work. We have put unrealistic demands on women. Stress, depression, and disintegration of the family. The statistics are there. It is unfair to women. Women have been tricked into believing that having a career and family are the norm.
Modernity and liberalism have changed everything. Today we find early marriage shocking, but the pre-modern people lived in a very different time period. They didn’t go to schools or colleges. They didn’t pursue careers as there weren’t any to begin with! Rich women invested their money into businesses buy hiring men. They weren’t exactly your CEOs or “boss babes”. Women are celebrated and praised for being CEOs, but never for being mothers or wives.
In pre-modern societies, girls did not care much about careers because there weren’t any to begin with! There was no vocational or job training for any jobs because girls didn’t get jobs.
The million-dollar question is this: For such a girl (living in pre-modern world), why won’t she get married, enjoy sex with her husband, and have children who love her?! Why on earth would a pre-modern girl refuse to get married early? She had much to gain, and little to lose. Her husband was her boss. Why not sleep with your husband-boss and be happier? Why wouldn't a pre-modern woman raise her financial and social status by marrying? Hypergamy was a thing in the past. And hypergamy is still a thing! Women don't marry lower status men. Marriage is still, yes, it’s hard for our liberal minds to accept it, the best option for women.
Early marriage was not only the norm, but also the most sensible and financially beneficial thing to do. That was then. Still, we have many poor villages in India and Africa where this works. As long as there’s no harm, let them do it.
Liberalism has brainwashed us into rejecting early marriage. Girls are denied the freedom to marry early. Yet, girls are told they can sleep with anyone they want, have sex with anyone, “discover”, and even change their gender any time without parental consent! Liberalism is stupid, dangerous, and destructive. It’s ruining lives, families, communities, and societies. Why is the population in almost all secular liberal states in decline Most Western nations are in decline-population is imploding. Europe has no future-thanks to liberalism! Most Europeans do not want to have children. They prefer to raise dogs and cats. In America, there are more pet dogs and cats than children!

From, Muhammad and the treatment of wives
The Quran sanctions polygyny under the condition that a person treats all of his wives fairly:
O people! be careful of (your duty to) your Lord, Who created you from a single being and created its mate of the same (kind) and spread from these two, many men and women; and be careful of (your duty to) Allah, by Whom you demand one of another (your rights), and (to) the ties of relationship; surely Allah ever watches over you. And give to the orphans their property, and do not substitute worthless (things) for (their) good (ones), and do not devour their property (as an addition) to your own property; this is surely a great crime. And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two AND three AND four (mathna WA thulatha WA rubaAAa); but if you fear that you will not do justice (between them), then (marry) only one or what your right hands possess; this is more proper, that you may not deviate from the right course. And give women their dowries as a free gift, but if they of themselves be pleased to give up to you a portion of it, then eat it with enjoyment and with wholesome result. S. 4:1-4 Shakir
This passage is a bit perplexing and rather incoherent. After mentioning the property of orphans and the fear of not being able to treat them fairly the text then goes on to mention marrying up to four wives. Is this a general injunction meaning that a person can marry any lawful woman? Or is it saying that a man can only marry up to four women from among the orphans? After all, Aisha herself said that this reference was initially given to address marriages with orphans:
    Narrated Aisha:
There was an orphan (girl) under the care of a man. He married her and she owned a date palm (garden). He married her just because of that and not because he loved her. So the Divine Verse came regarding his case: "If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls…" (4.3) The sub-narrator added: I think he (i.e. another sub-narrator) said, "That orphan girl was his partner in that date palm (garden) and in his property." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 97)
    Narrated ‘Urwa bin Az-Zubair:
That he asked ‘Aisha regarding the Statement of Allah:
"If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls…" (4.3) She said, "O son of my sister! An orphan girl used to be under the care of a guardian with whom she shared property. Her guardian, being attracted by her wealth and beauty, would intend to marry her without giving her a just Mahr, i.e. the same Mahr as any other person might give her (in case he married her). So such guardians were forbidden to do that unless they did justice to their female wards and gave them the highest Mahr their peers might get. They were ordered (by Allah) to marry women of their choice other than those orphan girls." ‘Aisha added, "The people asked Allah’s Apostle his instructions after the revelation of this Divine Verse whereupon Allah revealed:
‘They ask your instruction regarding women.’ (4.127)" ‘Aisha further said, "And the Statement of Allah: ‘And yet whom you desire to marry.’ (4.127) As anyone of you refrains from marrying an orphan girl (under his guardianship) when she is lacking in property and beauty." ‘Aisha added, "So they were forbidden to marry those orphan girls for whose wealth and beauty they had a desire unless with justice, and that was because they would refrain from marrying them if they were lacking in property and beauty." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 6, Book 60, Number 98)
Basically, the way Sura 4:3 is formulated there are three ways of understanding it: If you fear not to be able to treat the orphan girls fairly (in what regard?) then marry (a) two, three or four of THEM (the orphan girls), (b) two, three or four OTHER women (i.e. NOT those orphan girls), or (c) two, three or four of ANY women. However, if the latter option was meant, one wonders what does this have to do with orphan girls. After all, the statement is an "if ... then ..." construction, and one would expect that there is an obvious relationship between the two. This relationship is clearly missing, unless one wants to claim that only those who are in danger to treat orphans unjustly are allowed to become polygamous, while all others have to remain monogamous. Even more: Why does this verse not even give the option of marrying only one woman, why does it start with the number TWO? Does that mean that all Muslims should marry at least two women, or only those who fear that they can’t deal justly with the orphans in their care have to marry at least two women? This injunction is very incoherent and raises more questions than it answers.

Although there are some fatwas about thighing, it is not within the bandwidth of discourse for most in Islam. Your Shafi quote, about even a trustworthy man not necessarily being trustworthy, also contradicts that very young girls were handed over prior to consummation at scale.
I have also never come across credible evidence that Muhammed was granted access to Aisha for thighing prior to consummation.
So I regard mentioning thighing as sensationalism and trying to spread hate with highly emotive subjects rather than a legitimate concern about what Islam teaches or what Islamism or Islam promotes or teaches.

Exactly! Modern Christians have forgotten their own history and what early Christians practiced, including early marriage/minor marriage which was so common. They're heavily influenced by liberalism. The Bible is not liberal.

Talmud barakhot 24a: The Master said (in a baraita)
If his children and the members of his household were minors, even though they are
unclothed, it is permitted to recite Shema even without a garment separating between
them. The Gemara asks: Until what age is one still considered a minor?
Rav Ḥisda said: A girl until she is 3 YEARS AND ONE DAY OLD, and a boy until he is 9
YEARS AND ONE DAY OLD, for these are the ages from which a sexual act in which
they participate is considered a sexual act.
Some say: A girl 11 YEARS and one day old and a boy of 12 YEARS and one day old, as
that is the age at which they are considered adults in this regard. This age is only
approximate, as the age of majority for both this, the boy, and that, the girl, is at the
onset of puberty in accordance with the verse:
"I made you (Israel) multiply like plants [which grow] in the field, and you grew up and
became tall and you reached the age for [wearing] fine jewelry; your breasts were
formed and your hair had grown, yet you were naked and bare."
    (Old Testament Ezekiel 16:7).
So, that's reason why rabbis admitted Rebecca was 3 years old and King David's wife
Bathsheba gave birth to Solomon when she was 6 years old.
Minor marriage was a thing. It's totally permitted in the Bible. Jesus never spoke against minor marriage. It was prevalent in his time. The Bible does not specify a minimum age for marriage. Modern Christians are confused about the minimum age for marriage.

Jesus gave the example of Adam and Eve though [the original pattern], they were full mature adults. One is not to do anything abusive. The standard Islamic narrative shows a person who is mastered by besetting sins such as lust, and not commendable behaviour, rather he should have repented, he trusted in his good deeds to get to heaven, so no hope for him now. (Polygamy in the Biblical account was also a human innovation by Lamech, who was a noted bad person in the same category as Cain. Hence why when practiced all the cases in the Old Testament lead to problems such as favouritism, jealousy and neglect, and why Proverbs rejects it.)
