  • Low-resource settings are on the frontlines of multiple healthcare challenges, with access barriers, infrastructure limitations and funding difficulties all standing in the way. Transforming care requires identifying and rapidly scaling up new approaches to these challenges. So how do we harness the power of data, technology and tools, infrastructure, and partnerships to achieve impact where needed most? Learn from practical examples in cardio care and how this can apply to other healthcare domains.
This session will focus on the unique challenges low-resource settings face to manage and improve healthcare access, and will explore the innovative, scalable solutions that will help make urgently needed progress. Some topics we will tackle include understanding the growing challenge in low-resource settings of equitable, sustainable access and the barriers that prevent policymakers and healthcare providers from achieving systemic change, the potential for improved value chains to tackle challenges from start to finish (e.g., lack of access to trained workforce, shortage of equipment or technology for diagnosis and treatment, insufficient medical facilities, financial limitations, etc.), how digital technologies can be effective at transforming care for individuals and societies - and how we deploy them at scale, and new models for public-private collaboration to achieve outsized impact.
