Hainbach: I wouldn't hesitate to teach granular synthesis using this module
Me: that sounds like a fantastic video series idea. Looking forwards to it! 😋
a lovely exploration of the device and yet again super solid work from ADDAC. Impressive.
I've been so curious of this thing, so glad to see such a great video showing how beautiful of a system it can be!
The Nagra SN is so cool and love how you're using it... **checks price*. *faints**
Oh dear, I was afraid that might be the case... I will avoid checking to preserve the fantasy :)
Such a casual flex for Hainbach
André's work is quite amazing! Great to see Addac featured here! :)
all ADDAC modules seem to be so complex and full of inspiration, glad to see more demos of their modules!
one of the only modules I've been excited about recently
Beauty, Herr Hainbach. Especially the piano bit. The ADDAC is definitely at the top of my list for future eurorack modules.
lovely sounds and textures here! 🖤
At last, been waiting for this. Danke, Hainbach!
Man you're a genius , i discovered you through Spitfire audio and since then all of your videos are on my top list.
Granular synthesis is the kind of sound that never fails to get me cross-eyed and fade into a dreamlike state. Wunderschön mein lieber!
Looks like ADDAC System has made the the synthetic equivalent to recalling memories of an orchestra tuning your dream theater, beautiful demo Hainbach!
Great! I really love granular synthesis 👍
For me it's pretty close to the max for live plugin Granulator by Robert Henke which I enjoy a lot. But 112 VC Looper is in hardware and have some nice new features, so yes, it's very interesting, thanks for sharing your experience with it!
I’m sure we’d all love seeing a series on granular synthesis from you!
3:50 is incredible! I need that as a soundtrack to my life!
Loved the Home Stories! Thank you.
Finally, Eurorack Hainbach!
A series on granular synthesis would be amazing🤯🤤
Wow, wonderful sound scapes indeed ❤️
I really enjoyed this episode! (I enjoy them all so that's not a surprise)
I want a T-Shirt that says "Let's Pitch It Down"
Or 1/2 speed :P
My dad gifted me a blue T-Shirt with orange text (favourite color combination) that says:
"8vb" (meaning octavo basso)
"Play it half-speed"
Since I like the lower octaves so much :P
I knew this thing was going to be cool.. but damn. Essential status.
beautiful sounds out of that 🙂👍
Almost thought you were about to quote your laugh doppelganger and say "Let me show you its features!" :)
Smooth alone in a room reference
Greetings Hainbach! Incredible video for an amazing module. I was curious if it crashed on you?? I’ve heard users saying that it was unstable and would crash but I do know ADDAC released firmware updates so I hope they fixed the issue. Thanks again for the video and your time. Love your work man.
I would be lying if I said that I really understood only one word about granular synthesis. 😁 But I am working hard on it. This module could bring some clarity and it looks and sounds (like almost everything in Hainbachs hands) really fun.
my hand twin!
sounds like a dynamic Paulstretch in a box!
Martin Stig Andersen has to buy one for sure lol
I wish I’d been aware of the 112 when I was persuaded by a couple of YTers to buy the Arbhar- this has infinitely more functionality for fewer ££s. But then I suppose expensive mistakes are how most of us learn modular, eh?
Gabs sowas mal? Haben sich die Wege mal gekreuzt?
Viele Grüße und Danke für diese Videos
absolutely a great module, no doubt, but i still prefer morphagene combined with magneto. Great Video as always!
Great video as ever- what did you change about your voiceover though? It sounds gooooorgeous!
Ah I had to change mic positions due to setup changes, it is way closer. That made me talk also much softer. Good to hear it works!
Did you ditch the Drezno and Jena? Curious what you think of the Erfhurt expander. Do you find the Moskwa is nice for swing, microtiming, and polyrhythmic patterns?
Granular synthesis - A truly weird beast but accessible.... and at least it's not FM synthesis!
That synth is very nice tho.
Thanks for the gerat introduction in the ADDAC Looper. You descibed it as very complete granular synth core. I have the module here mounted in my rack now but could not find any playback speed control of the grain synth that is independent from the pitch. I wonder if there is any way to control that since that is a very essential parameter that is controllable in any other granular module or synth I know. Thanks!
"mix down to a single mono channel." BOOOO! Cool video though.
Beautiful sounds in this video x where did you study granular synthesis? that sounds incredible
University of Hamburg, one of my final test subjects
Can you recommend any software plugins similar to this granular processor synth? Sounds like an infinitely creativity-enabling toy. Love playful piano bits after 5:17 +
Damn, is this Nagra expensive! Wow! Aua! But so beautiful...I go rake the Gravel.
What about a Kaiser Window?
Polygogo, with its screen, reminds me a lot of Monome Norns at first glance.
In my case I was instantly minded of the Dreadbox Typhon. I wonder which came first?
Incredible, but huge.
is polygogo actually good?
Second, lol. I love your stuff, Hainbach!!
Are you just manufacturing this for content (i remember you had a poll a while ago asking what viewers wanted) or/and is this part of a bigger project? Regardless, we enjoy your creativity! You make it seem so effortless, your skill to make what is seemingly random sound orchestrated. Is there anything you cant do? :D
This was basically a friend asking me to play his instruments. I can’t drum, which makes me sad sometimes.
@@Hainbach thank god for drum sequencers then :) Trust your friend let you keep the Processor.
What would you say your ideal settings are to get the smoothest sound from the smallest grains? I can’t seem to dial mine in. Like sample track of track, etc
I have since switched all my granular needs to my own app Fluss, so I haven't touched it in a while. But I do remember that I took care to have the gain staging right, leaving a bit of headroom when using it.
Dachte bei den Grillen sofort an "Gods Cricket Chorus". Ob du da mal was machen möchtest? Wäre Hammer....
how/where can one study granular synthesis?
I studied it at Hamburg University
Any thoughts about this vs. morphagene ?
Morphagene is like a Patch already and very playable, Addac is more you do the work. That makes it more varied. Both fun, both good, depends if you want to dive deep or just play
How can people put dislike on it tho ?
Me: sees this video
Hainbach: Leave any questions below!
Me: CAN SOMEONE BUY THIS FOR ME!!???
God i hate being broke
Tiny Nagra is best Nagra
I hear beautiful sounds but I see really expensive equipment... I'll stick my collection of cheap and free software. For now, at least :P
Thanks, but.. Can you please stop to test very good machines like this on a so nice way like that? Why? It kills my studio budget.
Seems a very good machine.
I'd need a nagra too. In the loop.
Putty in your hands
so I can spend thousands of dollars to make some sweet noise...
cool
Ok I love Hainbach, but cmon bud.. whos got this cash for this?
some people have it, trying to stop myself after already spending a few months salary - the cost vs fun ratio is really not that good.
In granular world, the 112 is way cheaper than Instruo’s Arbhar and has a ton more functionality. And this is a looper too. That wooden thing though- yeah…
