Man I really appreciate the showing of the use of a heat gun. I’ve always used a torch but a heat gun seems so much controllable and cleaner. I like it. I’ll be added a heat gun in the home shop for sure
One of the best ways I have found to test for the weakest point in an arrow shaft (like with your ram tester) is as follows: Put a field point in each end of the arrow shaft, put the arrow in between your bow press arms, and press the arrow until it flexes. The arrow will flex toward the weakest part in the shaft. After it flexes in that direction, align it vertically so that the arrow flex is like a rainbow, and mark the top of the arrow. Rinse and repeat.
Even testing this with bare shaft tuning afterward, bow press shaft testing has basically eliminated the need for me to bare shaft tune.

Im not gonna lie, this works somehow. i tested 2 arrows and there were pretty close to my marks.
I will use the Cornell method now to double check or pre check my marks. Thanks a lot

Great build, simple and straight forward. Wish they would have had UA-cam when I first started Bowhunting. I get sick to my stomach when I think about busting or losing a $40 arrow. I can't even fathom a $90 arrow.
I like the use of the heat gun. Gonna give that a try instead of the torch.

I dig the whole system very cool stuff! Just finished the podcast where your guest was nerding out on the procomps and I was convinced to lighten my arrows! Going from 11.2gpi day six to 8.1gpi black eagle and hoping that it still likes the 150gr Valkyrie blood eagle upfront!! You already know I can't wait for the Valkyrie one!
A little to expensive for my blood! Appreciate the work put into it, but I have never had a problem with the way I've done my arrows and now way you can shoot good enough to tell in my opinion. Thanks for sharing Dan, love the content
Those are gonna be awesome kill sticks. I went all out last year on the Black Eagle X-impact 250’s with: Elkshape vanes, steel inserts and outserts, and Iron will single bevel 150’s. The ASD Flip is SO important (black ovis doesn’t square the ends). Ive been incredibly happy with my choices!
I ran the 4mm Nexxus arrow last year. Insert/outsert component bent on my whitetail. This Snyder system looks really sturdy!
Good morning Dan! The Pro Comp is a terrific arrow and one I've used for tournament archery. I'm pretty sure I'm not a good enough shooter to tell the difference but the specs for hunting are intriguing, especially at my draw weight and length. I'm loving the ABT mindset. Also, just a quick note, THANK YOU FOR ELKSHAPE CAMP! For me it was many things, but most importantly it was a gut check at life! Stop, start, modify and always ABT!

Those pro comps remind of my all time favorite arrow which is no longer made and that's the Easton ACC .. To me it was one of the Best hunting arrows ever made.. Great content keep up the great work
You're doing exactly what I switched to last summer except my arrows are the awesome Victory VAP TKO (4mm). I would advise getting your glue and insert just hot enough because it is easy to get it much hotter than necessary which can be bad for your carbon arrow. I know from experience that "just hot enough" holds just as well and I've never had one come out in a target. Iron Will components are great and I love the single bevel broadheads.

Went with the 4mm Axis match grade this year with the Iron Will components. Those iron will field tips are insanely tough! Debating on trying the Broad heads as well but having a hard time going away from the Sevr 1.5” Titanium.
Spends at least $700 on arrow setup, "its a good candidate for being in my quiver". Love it

Cool video! I personally like the concept of the 4mm shafts. Been shooting the 4mm FMJs. No complaints on my end. I’ve heard people say they aren’t very accurate. Groups and results speak for themselves. I have them paired with the Easton titanium outserts. So I have more of the budget build of what you have going on here.

There is 2 types of expensive. Paying good money for something that is good except there might be some structural integrity problems in the future. Or buy something great that will last 10 times as long with more durability. But that worries some in the archery industry who depends on people buying new every year, especially broadheads.
I have almost the exact same build. I used the Sirius Orions and AAE Max Stealth vanes, plus Nockturnal nocks. They're pricy, but they give me huge confidence and I think that's worth a lot.

I was just complaining over on Archery Talk about the Iron Will Arrows aka Easton Axis and AAE with IW Components. Can't wait to see your take on these, always tinkering so those of us who don't have the budget can make informed decisions! Keep after it!
What was your “complaint” with the IW arrows? Same complaint with the TAC LRPs?
Dang add a lighted nock might as well try to get it over $100. I thought I was bad at about $56. That arrow build is so cool. But dang I’d be making darn sure I had a tree or a hill behind the animal I was shooting at to stop my pass thru so I could find the darn thing. I’d look long and hard if I shot that thru an animal. Probably look for multiple days. With a metal detector.
I won’t go this far in depth, but this year I’m running the Easton axis 260 5mm with the iron will broadheads. I can’t wait!
Love this set up. Personally, I’m running the Valkyries which are very similar. I love the Iron Will set up. I just suck at sharpening, single bevel broadheads.
i ran valkaryie for a bit but endeedup switching to rip tko and exodus broadheads mainly due to on the shelf availability. how is the valkryie system treating you
@@bbrinkley77 I love them. The paper wheel sharpening system is idiot proof (since I can use it). They’re tough, tolerances are really good, love the field tips too.. they’re just expensive 😅

Man I wanted to shit on this when I first saw it. But upon my better judgement I watched to the end.
99% of shooters, these wouldn’t make a difference and they would never pay for these. But for the 1% that it would make a difference and they would pay… it’s your money so more power to you and you do you bro. Sweet setup.
The other 99%… shoot what you want and spend your money on what’s important to you. I’m sure we would all be better off taking time working on our form until we surpass the capabilities of our setup.
Truth is, most of us already use gear that’s way above our abilities and the only thing holding us back is us.

Surprised you went without pin nocks. That would add a bit to each arrow price and protect the tail of the arrow…
Crazy that tac vanes releases an arrow setup that sells for pretty much the same price as this.
more than likely to penetrate deeper in a foam style target. but isn’t going to be any deeper in an animal than a standard diameter arrow. big sharp hunk of metal is doing all the work not the arrow diameter. in my non professional opinion of course.

Most people have never heard of Bishop handmade arrows. Their much more than than the Easton.

I have recently bought the Iron will components to shoot in the RIP TKO this year. I was thinking of hot melting in. Do your broadheads and field points spin in and out now or do you need to heat them every time to go to change the point?

I have a 4mm x impact, they penetrate top much and it's annoying sometimes. I'll never go back to normal arrows for hunting.

For speeds my x impacts are 436g, 29 draw. Elite ritual 33 290fps with 75% let off 70lbs. 90% let off 284fps
Just received hot melt from Ironwill last Monday. I don't believe I'll go back to epoxy. The hot melt has won me over.
Have you tried the ironwill build arrows they sell and there veins. Just wondering how they compare. Thanks for the video

What hot melt and heat source is that? I love my pro comps for target archery. I love that a majority of their arrows are American made.
He said hotmelt was from Iron Will’s website, and the heat gun looks like a Milwaukee.

I built the same arrow except I used axis and now I feel I may have bought better than I needed
You look like you have made a really good quality arrow. Have you tried using a Bitzenburger jig? You have a system now, and it seems to be working for you. I am just saying maybe you would like it. I look forward to your next video.
I own 3 bitz jigs! 1 of the 3 is my favorite and marked as such. Great for 2 degree offsets.

Definitely could have gone more expensive with the nocks and field points which would easily push that price over $100 per arrow.

Have used hot melt for over 40 yrs of assembling arrows. Can tune broad hds or remove inserts and replace.
Perfection is great. But at what price?

Could be more expensive with foc king arrows , and bishop broadhead . Just saying the bishop broadhead is like 300 for one head
Here I'm thinking $12-$15 per arrow was too much. But $80 per? Those better be homing / guided arrows that never miss. To me it just add more preasure on top of the preasure of making the shot. The pucker factor of missing and lodging one in a tree or bouncing one off a rock would be too much.
Hope they shoot the way you are expecting them to and you can actually see the difference between them and a less expensive arrow.
And I thought my $15 a piece arrows were expensive. I am considering upgrading from the Gold Tip Hunter XT 340's to their Force F.O.C. arrows or their Airstrikes. Or maybe switching brands all together and going to like an Easton Axis Pro Match Grade 5mm or RIP TKO's. Not really sure yet. Opening day is September 15th here in Indiana, so I have plenty of time.

What spine were those in?
As someone who shot Acc and FMJ for years I’ll never shoot an arrow with aluminum anywhere in it. Just shooting groups alone will ruin them and you need to inspect every arrow in the group after you shoot them. Hate to say it DS, but this was an expensive mistake. But hey, I’ll keep doing me, good luck.

Easton Archery’s plays the 51% rule with carbon arrows to say that they are made in the USA due to EPA laws and OSHA no carbon shafts can be made in the USA companies use the 51% rule. Easton Archery aluminum arrows on the other hand are made in house.
Aren’t the Easton 4mm not supposed to have a weak side of the spine due to them being a weave.
Go to fleet farm buy some gold tip arrows,fly like darts.
It would make more since to square off the nock end. If you're going to do only one side.

I second the sentiment of some of the other commenters - I will spend money on my hobbies to the degree I want, as long as I don't mortgage my family's future. It will be great to see how much better these arrows perform, if at all, when compared to your previous setups. Luckily, I am satisfied with my $35 arrows, but if I wasn't - the wallet would come out until I was satisfied. Otherwise, why even work. Good luck this fall.

Sweet arrows but I don’t think I could bring myself to shoot groups with $80 errors. I paid $80 for a half dozen and was pretty upset when I robin hooded one of them.
Unless it is a Bishop shaft and head it is NOT "the world's most expensive arrow". I bought two dozen Procomps three years ago and using a 250 shaft, Ethics components, and Blazer vanes came out to be about $33 a arrow without a head.

I COMPLETELY understand using expensive arrows, but the components cost twice as much as the arrow. You could ruin 2 arrows and still break even with cheaper components. I haven’t wrapped my head around that, yet. Honestly, a half dozen of these cost just a little bit less than my bow setup did when I bought it. Will that kill you an extra elk per season? I don’t know, but if I could afford it and didn’t mind all the work, that’s a cool arrow!

Hmm..I feel kinda cheap looking at my Easton 6.5's and titanium inserts I machined at work out of scraps we had left over.
Take one of those 6.5s and flex it then spin it on an arrow spinner. You'll be shocked at what happens.
