Thank you for doing such a detailed tutorial on the BK 467. Its motivated me to service mine and hopefully start using it soon. Look forward to more testing videos and hopefully a full rejuvenation!
They were great tubes that lasted much longer than many conventional tubes from the era and produced a far superior picture with no convergence problems. I have noticed that the green section of the cathode seems to usually fail first (after a long life) leaving a picture that is not pleasant to watch. The sets were expensive but worth it. It's sad now that most everything is the same with little real variation or progress between brands.
Thanks Robin. The test trinitron tube seems to be OK. At some point I'll try the 1320 tube on the tester. I have been wary of clean or rejuv as I've read alot about not rejuv trinitrons. Further forum digging people have been saying the bk 467 can clean and balance trinitron guns but not rejuv.
Don't even think of trying to rejuvenate or restore a Trinitron, it absolutely destroys them. There is zero chance of making it better. Based on experience and slightly too late advice from an 80s Sony Shop manual.
hi, i have a sony crt pvm8042q that has a pink tint on the screen. i wondered if i can test with this bk467 test if it has a short in the tube, but after that how can i fix it. thanks.
Short in the tube means its dead. The 467 can sometimes blow the shorts but is it 100% not guaranteed it can. No-one rebuilds crt tubes so best to found another tube for the chassis of the chassis is in great shape.
