Smashed Sony KV 1612UB resurrection - Part 1

Picked this Sony KV-1612 out of the junk pile.
I turned it down a few days back but when i was back sifting thru the CRT junk pile for parts for another project I took pity on the poor thing.
The front fascia had been smashed to the point the whole tv bent when the back cover was off. The entire lower half below the CRT was virtually disconnected from the top half. Only held by two bits of plastic. Picking up the tv from the fascia it bent like a banana.
Today we see if this tv is worth the effort of restoring and fixing.

Repair the case, fill and sand, then spray it silver.

I wonder if it might be fun to create a completely new housing for it. It could look lovely in a steam punk inspired wooden housing with brass fittings.

RESTORE IT! The plastics CAN be fixed. Extreme restorations on Atari computers MUCH worse than this I've seen.
