  • If you have a portable power station, you probably want some portable solar panels. Here is a range of options, including the LARGEST portable panel on the market, the Allpowers SP039 600W folding panel.
This panel was made available to me with no strings attached to provide feedback on.

Exactly wht I am looking for high rise balcony type apts........pity u did not show potential watts while vertically on deck rails. many thks as its perfect for rental apts when u spending shortterm like 3 mths and need back and power generation when local power supply is not dependable. Again thks.

I thought about it. The noon sun was about 45 degrees, it made 300W laying flat on the ground in later testing, so would have probably done the same vertically. Now that we are getting into near overhead sun in the summer…

I have 3 Bluetti solar batteries. When you were using the 600w panel. You said that AC180 10a . My AC60 and B80 only except 200w 28v and 8a I have emailed Bluetti about these. Battery’s. My question is when you over power with a big panel. So when the Bluetti controller caps the amps 8 does that stop maximum watts and voltage that panel power. I am going to buy 2 Renogy 220w solar panels open circuit 23.6 short circuit current 12.1A and I going to unplug aircraft cable and charge them individually. And I can run both panels in series with my AC70. I see you have a lot of knowledge about Bluetti batteries. I only use mine for off grid and only charge them by solar panels.

The Solar controller will only take so many amps form the panel, if sun conditions are enough to provide it. If the panel and conditions can provide more amps than the controller will take, then yes it does limit potential production of the panel. This is something called "overpaneling" and is done quite often, the advantage of it is you get more average output, more output at the start and end of the day with larger panels, even though the peak solar noon output is the same as with smaller panels which may be exactly matched to the solar controller.

I wonder if you could lay one of those big boys out on your awning somehow?

If it angled into the sun and I had an awning, maybe!

    Hello Mr! Great video!
I want to buy this solar panel ALLPOWERS 600W
I have the LANPWR D5-2500 Portable Power Station Solar Generator.
This Solar Generator has solar charging input:
    11V-50V 9 A MAX, maximum 400W
I would like to ask you:
If I connect this ALLPOWERS 600W solar panel to the Solar Generator, the solar panel when it will output more than 400watts and more than 9 Amps I mean if for example the ALLPOWERS 600W solar panel outputs 500watts and 12 Amps, will the integrated solar controller of the solar generator, suffer possible damage? I would like your opinion so as not to cause damage to the built-in solar controller of the solar generator! Thanks

Available amps are fine, the controller/power station will only take what it is capable of. The problem with this combination is the SP039 has open circuit voltage of 52.8V, which is more than the 50V max of your device and could cause damage.

What brand and model is that small 40w panel?

It is a development unit for the recently released Lumopal 60W, which they just sent me. I'll be unboxing and reviewing on the next sunny day I have opportunity. The folded size is about a ream of paper. I'm quite impressed by the build quality of the dev unit.

Panels of this size are not practical for portable use. You would have to "jump through hoops" to get it correctly aligned to the sun for best output.

Definitely if you want peak output, but just tossed in the grass there I achieved 400W in March. It could probably get 500+ in June or July when the sun is 15 degrees from vertical. Bonus is you don't have to worry about it blowing over.
