Japan's band was my absolute favorite performance, I'm always surprised by their performances

The Toto Marching Band from Japan was amazing! When I was watching it in real time, I was just flabbergasted at that turn! I've watched the clip several times, just because it's so dang entertaining! So fun!

Japanese School Bands are the greatest and remember these kids are still at school and most bands are usually 80% female.

This parade was a blast to march, i would do it again if i had the chance. Pulaski did amazing on the turn and it is unfortunate that we got skipped on the public broadcast. Marching with the accordions also went very well, seeing as we only had around a month and a half to prepare our marching and music for them. (I was the accordion player on the inside right) i am very glad to be one of the first to march accordion in the rose parade. Go pulaski!

I never watch the rose parade because it bores me, but this time I saw it and the Costa Rican band seemed like the best. It gave me a lot of joy, this year I visit Costa Rica and I have high expectations. They all tell me impressive things about that country. Greetings, Costa Ricans. Pura vida!

Tournament of Roses Honor Band with the Cleanest Drumline and Hornline, looking sharp too!
The Costa Rican band is by far the best. The joy and color they give to the parade is total. In addition, they not only represented Costa Rica, they represented all of Latin America.
They represented well. 👏 Bravo.🎉❤
....they played a great show, and because they played something different....but come on, all the bands were (are) just magnificent....I'm "tico" and I work with marching bands, so....

Pulaski mellophone here! The parade was something none of us will ever forget. It was an amazing experience and despite not being seen on any news broadcast, I’m glad we are still seen in videos like these.

@Music213, Thank you so much for taking the time to record and post not only the parade, but Band Fest. I wasn’t able to make it out to California, and I am sure there are many other band parents who were in the same circumstance. Your attention to detail caught the whole band as they went by in HD. I even caught a glimpse of my daughter as she marched by! Great job to everyone who performed and recorded!

Marching bands are fantastic what they do for the members as well as the audience - filled with dedicated musicians, performers and leaders from across the US and around the world - hard work and dedication building community & character with the lifelong shared experience of the world famous Rose Parade. GREAT way to bring in the New Year.
Absolutely! I'm so glad I found this video with the bands. I was so frustrated watching the tv version of the parade where they kept talking over all of the marching bands!

On January 1, 1987 -- My High School band & I marched in that parade. We were the Boardman Spartan Marching Band, from Boardman, Ohio. All together, with students & chaperones, we had about 500 people. It took 3 jumbo jets to fly us all out there. They took us to Disneyland, Universal Studios, & Knott's Berry Farm. The total price for all flights, attractions, hotels, & food was $687 per person!! ❤

William Mason High School, from Mason, OH, (about the 24 minute mark) is a huge, awesome, wall of sound with excellent choreography, playing Aaron Copeland. No wonder they are one of the very few American HS bands invited back! This was their 2nd Rose Parade!! Very proud of our daughter’s Alma Mater. Bravo, Mason!
As a past street and field marching band member, THANKS for this! West Chester U with Rocky theme and cool banners! Jenkins High with Sweet Caroline was tight!

This was a fantastic Parade, well organized. All the Bands were great- Michigan had a hugh Band - So did Alabama, they really had the Beautiful Girls. --
Marching band is the best, colorful and nice amazing corp.walking symphony.
Pulaski High School marching Band did some fantastic move-ments that none of the others did, its my opinion they were the best.
Pulaski mellophone here! Thank you so much!! We worked on several different turns over the course of 18 months. The minstrel turn worked the best, and that’s the one you see here!

どちらも良いと思いますよ🙌
ちなみにローズパレード参加の時は橘も大学生と社会人のOB.OGが参加しています。
実際の高校吹奏楽のイベントや大会の裏側を見れば皆様御互いに相手をリスペクトしていて同じフィールドに立つ仲間と云う認識も有り更には良きライバルと思う気持ちが分かります。

Thank you for sharing my favorite part. As a parade marchers 2 times, I loved a music only shoe. Next time could you put the name of group on screen ? Their banners are not readable at the angle, except Hawaii, which was huge.
