I feel reading the comments the general consensus is that Toho did the greatest turn and great choreography Absolutely winners in my book. Japanese School Bands are the greatest and remember these kids are still at school and most bands are usually 80% female.
The Toto Marching Band from Japan was amazing! When I was watching it in real time, I was just flabbergasted at that turn! I've watched the clip several times, just because it's so dang entertaining! So fun!

The Costa Rican band is by far the best. The joy and color they give to the parade is total. In addition, they not only represented Costa Rica, they represented all of Latin America.
....they played a great show, and because they played something different....but come on, all the bands were (are) just magnificent....I'm "tico" and I work with marching bands, so....
I never watch the rose parade because it bores me, but this time I saw it and the Costa Rican band seemed like the best. It gave me a lot of joy, this year I visit Costa Rica and I have high expectations. They all tell me impressive things about that country. Greetings, Costa Ricans. Pura vida!

This parade was a blast to march, i would do it again if i had the chance. Pulaski did amazing on the turn and it is unfortunate that we got skipped on the public broadcast. Marching with the accordions also went very well, seeing as we only had around a month and a half to prepare our marching and music for them. (I was the accordion player on the inside right) i am very glad to be one of the first to march accordion in the rose parade. Go pulaski!

I wasn’t able to make it out to California, and I am sure there are many other band parents who were in the same circumstance. Your attention to detail caught the whole band as they went by in HD. Absolutely! I'm so glad I found this video with the bands. I was so frustrated watching the tv version of the parade where they kept talking over all of the marching bands!
On January 1, 1987 -- My High School band & I marched in that parade. We were the Boardman Spartan Marching Band, from Boardman, Ohio. All together, with students & chaperones, we had about 500 people. It took 3 jumbo jets to fly us all out there. They took us to Disneyland, Universal Studios, & Knott's Berry Farm. The total price for all flights, attractions, hotels, & food was $687 per person!! ❤
William Mason High School, from Mason, OH, (about the 24 minute mark) is a huge, awesome, wall of sound with excellent choreography, playing Aaron Copeland. No wonder they are one of the very few American HS bands invited back! This was their 2nd Rose Parade!! Very proud of our daughter’s Alma Mater. Bravo, Mason!

KTLA botched the band coverage, as usual. The announcers talked over every band, and the cameras completely missed the USMC band taking the corner. This video is much better.
