I still remember how unbelievably grateful for having both "Mercy, Mercy Me (The Ecology)" and "What's Goin' On?" from the same album being played at different times of the day! I haven't had that gratitude for music since Sade's "Smooth Operator" and "Your Love Is King" from her Diamond Life album. You're absolutely right, JT! A musical genius like Marvin Gaye's life needs to be told in a feature film.

I used to dance a lot in the clubs in Mannheim and I also used to go to the American barracks in Heidelberg because they played very good music in these military clubs. I saw my first Luther Vandross concert live in Ludwigshafen in 1987 and have been a big fan of his ever since. @@dancefloor9032 I had absolutely unforgettably wonderful time in Germany. I was a truck driver when I was there so traveled everywhere. Your country is beautiful with very friendly people everywhere I went. Had the chance to be in Berlin during Oktoberfest and all the bierfests we went to were full of extremely welcoming and partying people. One thing I never had to do at those functions was buy a bier. Lol. Words can't describe how much I appreciated being treated to such kindness and inclusiveness as I experienced in Germany. To everyone there through you I say, thank you!

I can still remember when I experienced the first American Volksfest in Heidelberg 40 years ago. Just as you experienced the German festivals, I felt the same way at the American Volksfest. Finally eating a real hamburger or T-bone steak, getting to know the nice American military personnel while listening to good big band music. It was so uniquely beautiful! Marvin Gaye's Trouble Man, I want you, and My Love is waiting are some of my favorite songs by him. Sexual Healing is awesome but well known. Ain't that Peculiar is one of his best from the 1960's. I always thought Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell did the best duets.
