Not a bad idea to worked out a deal with the guy who made the little orange brace and offer them on your website. I have the exact model, I would purchase one tomorrow. I really love this little sharpener, no more scarring up the blade by accidentally using the wrong angle on sharpening stone.
I wouldn’t say completely different. What he’s doing is pretty much what the instructions say. They did make a demo video where they tested various directions/methods and compared them, but after stropping it was sharp either way. At the end of the day, if the knife ends up sharp it doesn’t matter how you did it
Hey TC Great demo-, this is a great system, got one at Blade Show at their booth this summer. .They were great, patient and took the time to show hands on. It is easy to set up and the price is wonderful. I have other sharpeners, but this one is the go to. Is Shanks selling his clamp supports? Take care-great shirt - say hello to Greg and Craig- cheers.
I got the original kit last year. Works great on all knifes, biggest improvement was when I reground a set of abused kitchen knives Look forward to getting the upgrade kit
Thank you for making the video. The background music in the intro distracts from the content you want to discuss. You could tune it down a little. Wow, from your video, there is visible flex of the knife holder, which, unfortunately, I only find it out after purchasing the elite kit. And then the red support takes away the flex, but you're not talking about it. Would love to hear more about how to fix this design flaw. The major weakness of the system is the flexing of the knife holder. You found it, but it would be helpful to us if you talked about it. Where did you find that red support? Further in the video, it is obvious that the knife holder is flexing again. The hard lesson learned is that when the knife holder flexes, the sharpening angle changes substantially.
What's up TC! Let's go let's go let's go! Thank you for that demonstration. I've been kind of looking at the Work Sharp triangle the one that stands up and has three different grits that one's pretty cool but that one was too. Great video
I know worksharp even released a revised video at one point showing to do it that way instead of the sawing motion. I could understand if the knife was just to long and you had to do that but for pocket knives I'd prefer to sweep as well. There is also a great aftermarket for this system, I got the Hapstone 4" stone holder by Gritomatic and a bunch of diamond stones and a leather strop meant for the KME system. I also got a digital angle finder (inclinometer) to be more precise than depending on the worksharp markings but that's a bit less important if you're using all stock worksharp pieces.
Hi thumbs sir i enjoyed your video , im gonna buy this machine how can i order a small stabiliser can i ask for your email to place orders thanks colkoi England
Hi, i think this type of sharpening systems are not sharpening a blade on the original angle but on a forced angle and only if the blade is perfectly round with the same radius on the whole lenght of the blade this kind of system will work and i said not this sysytem but all the systems with only a pivot point. If you are not in accord with me, you can make a video to show with the electronic angle meter to show everybody in different spots of the blade it is a different angle and that can damage the blades and messed up your entire angle of the blade because when you haveTHE SAME HEIGHT BUT DIFFERENT DISTANCE, THE ANGLE BETWEEN THE BLADE AND STONE CHANGE, and THATS NOT GOOD FOR THE BLADES. After few sharpening sessions with these kind of systems you will have on a single blade a mutitude of angles that VARY with the shape of the blade, the more curves or chages of a direction of a blade has the more angles you'll have because, LIKE I SAID BEFORE, THE DISTANCE AND ANGLES ARE INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL then as one quantity increases, the other decreases.
your mic is distorting. I guess the input is gained too high. If you want to improve the quality of your videos make shure you are using your equipment properly and get youself a compressor or do it in postproduction. Sounds horrible.

You can look up Tim Shanks on IG and FB! He is always active in the knife community!
It’s definitely a system I am wanting to get it’s insane how you can make any edge you want on this !
We are really digging it!
@@SMKWcom I can see why. You can also back bevel really well with this so you can have a 17 degree edge but the grind angle will be at 20 still
I'd recommend watching one of work sharps videos on how to use this system. The way they recommend is completely different than what SMKW is doing.

Been using the Lansky for a while, but considering this as a replacement.
Don't think of it as a replacement but in addition to the sharping collection 👍
Thanks for all the great information!!! Great walk thru....

Hi.Whats the diameter off the rods? Thanks.
Dude, you demonstrated it is really hard to use this system on a smaller height blade.
What's up TC! Let's go let's go let's go! Thank you for that demonstration. I've been kind of looking at the Work Sharp triangle the one that stands up and has three different grits that one's pretty cool but that one was too. Great video
Thanks for watching KJ! Both are great TC just prefers the Precision Adjust 👍
Yea this is a great system, yes there is a more expensive version…
I sweep from heel to tip instead of push and pull.

Unfortunately, with some knives the metal jaw piece gets in the way and you are unable to sharpen at a low angle. This is a design flaw, I think.
Has anyone used this for sharpening broadheads?

Where can I get that adjustable little red piece you're using to hold the knife more still?
The red piece was sent to us by Tim Shanks!
So , So ,whats with the mic in your face ,So .
