I played one briefly in a store... it has the usual collection of great-sounding presets. The Yamaha folks just seem to do a great job with the sounds.
Yea but like is there a way that i can sample sounds from the DX7 to the motif because you can do that with the ES series like i think you can sample sounds from a roland d-50 on to a motif es, as well as to a korg triton series.
i have a motif 7 and i wanted to know if there is anyway how i can get the yamaha DX7 sounds on it like the lead brass or if there is a way i can fix a sound to let it sound like it?
@FreestyleLilWayne Well, I have quite a few videos here with the sounds of the original Motif. Many of them have been carried over even into the current Motif models. Personally, I prefer the Motifs over the workstations made by Korg and Roland, although there are others who would disagree. It is a matter of personal preference.
Just a few measures from Van Halen's song "Jump." One of the very rare moments in one of my videos where I actually play a bit of someone else's tune. :)
Yamaha Tyros has the best but you won't like the price tag attached.... best bet is to get a sampling plug in like esx24 and buy sample libraries.... Mojo horns has good sounds and I just found one I like by Zero-g called Phantom Horns..... BTW i have a tyros4 and 5.... they are nice machines for the money....but 1) the sound libraries are very limited for expansion and 2) unless you convert and sample yourself.... the libraries are only limited to tyros use unlike the motif sounds. Hope this helps
Wow- the flute sound is great- those overblown tones from hitting the keys harder is a great touch

I have not used the sampling aspects of the Motif, but you should check out a website called Motifator. All things Motif-related are there.
what kind of motif is this?
IS THAT A SONG AT 1:40??
@FreestyleLilWayne Well, sorry, but I don't know how many sounds the ES version added. Maybe that info is at the Yamaha site.
