Subscribed today - great to see an Aussie doing this stuff. Your tutorial results are just what I have been looking for. Something tells me even your simplified methods are going to take some serious practice to get anywhere near this good. Appreciate the videos. Hoping to be starting my journey in the coming months.
Lol, I know...my better half actually suggested this one and I thought to myself, ‘why hadn’t I thought of this earlier’ ? Happy that so many viewers are enjoying it and finding the video helpful .
WOW! It pops off the canvas! Looks very realistic. I wish you lived near me! I've been looking for someone to air brush barbed wire on my motorcycle fairing!
Fantastic! I have started my Journey in airbrushing with lure painting. I transferred your technique on my lures and The results are stunning. So thanks!
I use an airbrush to color my leather projects, but wanted to learn more about fine detail work. Your videos are phenomenal. Thanks for your hard work! That cover or hobby knife, where can I get one? I have nerve damage in my hands. That knife looks like a winner.
This is amazingly effective! As a matter of interest, is there any reason that you use a scalpel and not a swivel knife when you're cutting those very intricate details?
Thanks for your comment, I have tried swivel knives in the past and I personally find it easier to just use the regular blade as I have used it for so many years, but a swivel knife is a great suggestion for anyone who is struggling to control the standard hobby knife 👍🏻
Great Job.!!! I have question. I want to do it like you, too. what do you use the sheet? Please give me a link or product name where I can buy it tell me.plz
Hello world, I just got my first airbrush set :) I'm quite skilled with pencils, so I hope that this will help me to improve in this field... Yes, I was inspired by you, Sir. ;)
Thank you so much for your kind words I’m glad I helped to inspire you to pick up airbrushing, welcome and have fun creating some art. You may also be keen to take a look at our online airbrushing course 👉🏻 airbrushasylum.thinkific.com
@airbrushasylum I'm a miniature painter and found that airbrushing decreased my highlight and shadow time by at least half, but I'm just in the beginning of knowing it's potential. Although it's not your typical medium, would you make a video of painting a miniature of any sort?
Im planning to use this on a PC case I'm painting. Is there a best choice for the underlying colour? My idea is to have the barbed wire over riveted metal panels (either rusty metal or a bronze/copper).
Yes that would work , if you make the base Rusty then this will come through on your barbed wire which would look great I would also add a few final details to make it pop from the base colour 👌🏻
I always wanted to airbrush a barbed wire, but never knew how to. This video helped me immensely. No wait. I am confusing barbed wire with naked woman.
It is very nice work, but you don’t exactly have the barb wire the way it really is. For the barbs you have the points both coming from behind the coils, only one barb should come from behind. Also, there isn’t any twists in the wire. Barb wire is always twisted.

Fun stuff! I’m coming at this from the miniatures side of the art/hobby and this is a new art form.

Wonderful performance excellent
I like this type of panel over canvas. What type of stores usually sell it?
Aluminium composite panels are usually available from sign supply shops 👍🏻

Will trident paint stick to a latex mask? Or would I have to add a promoter?
I would recommend using a adhesion promoter first, in the past I have used the Createx adhesion promoter by Tim Gore 👍🏻
@@AirbrushAsylum Thanks mate.
I subbed.
What gun are you using?

How SMALL would it be possible to recreate this with? I want to try one on a 1/25 scale model car

I love it but my brush want spray that small of a line to separate the turns on the barb
It just comes down to practice dial in your paint and run your psi lower 👍🏻
Can you do that on cars.jc I never see you draw on cars .you do great art work .

@@AirbrushAsylum Thank you very much for the video! Greetings from Siberia, Altai Territory city of Barnaul, Russia.👋🤝😉👍
My God that is the biggest roll of masking tape I've ever seen...
Do you have an email?

Yeah the barbed wire isn't metal either, it's what, paint, or something? That will never keep the prisoners in, not in a million years.
YOU HAVE THE STEADY HANDS OF A SURGEON
Man I can't even do a shaded ball let alone barbed wire let alone realistic flames. I'll stick to painting model cars. Solid colors are easy.
Only the paper used in this project is more than I can afford....😢
Show us what you can do with a cheap airbrush. Not everybody can buy an expensive airbrush.
What the heck is AL- U- MINIUM ??? Seriously thats how you say it over there??
Lol, yep we most certainly do 😂
