Next build, Mongoose Grit. Honestly this vid shows you can upgrade a Walmart bike and learn without braking the bank with an 2000 dollar 💵 entry level or high end bike.
could have gone with a sensah groupset off ali express way cheaper but the microshift is better quality. This bike is probably on par if not better than some $1000 bikes imo.
Funnily enough another really solid option would have been L-TWOO again (just not the one that comes on the bike). Their newer GRT is 1x12 and runs about $700 for the whole groupset, including hydro brakes instead of the mechanical ones. Juuust barely cheaper than the Microshift setup if I'm not mistaken, and from what I've heard it's on-par in terms of quality. (would still need the hub and the wheel rebuild)
I have never built up a wheel. I don't think I have the patience to do that. Too bad you had to build the wheel a second time. I can imagine how frustrating that would have been.
@@MTB_FANATIC99 The money spent on bike/parts would be better suited on a bike that equals that amount. The quality of that bike would undoubtedly be superior.
Honestly ozark trail should just sell the frames at this point lol
maybe
$99 frames lol
Probably could online for like $200 and people would do this to them like crazy.

Send the chain to a hipster in Portland. It can be made into dumb ass belt buckles.
Maybe
sell it to a hipster do not give it to one of them posers.

I never buy new. Always used. I found an Schwinn Axum at a Goodwill for $60 just for the frame. Originally a $500 frame with crappie parts.
Microshift is good.💪👍
the frames on that brand is killer, components not so much. seen a mountain bike youtuber pimp out the Ozark mountain bike, and it was sweet.

it was an annoyance but also a learning process
You made the UK cycling news with this bike, well done 😂
Really? Surprising
Its like upgrading your starter pistol lol
somewhat
most american comment ever
Curious what the weight of the bike is before and after the upgrade.
Hella nice franken bike. I'll bet it rides sweet.
Check out the Huffy Gang . . They take walmart bikes and build them into show bikes
I'm thinking about buying this bike, but making it a single speed. I like the frame and color.
It came with a square tapered BB?? 🤮🤮
I would recommend a 1x Cues drivetrain over the 2x Advent. And a wheel upgrade for the best bang for buck.
Yes
Should have gone with TRP mecha-hydro calipers
All this money and he kept the stock wraps? 🤦♂️
theyre new lol
@ so was the old group set lol
$900 parts on a Walmart bike, what's the point??
For fun!!!
To have a beast machine, to have fun, be the one and only there's tons of reasons doesn't mean you have to do it 😂😂
