Most people forget F.E.A.R. had two expansion packs: Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate that were bundled up together and released as F.E.A.R. Files on the Xbox 360.
@@seektruthnow. That is what happens when not a lot of people buy a game when it is released, causes not as many copies of said game to be manufactured. Not that expensive, cheaper than it was when it was originally released. Worth it for any F.E.A.R. fan.
I’ve got a practically new copy of F.E.A.R. Files, from way back. I like how there’s a full page for it on the Xbox Series X/S store, yet it was never available to buy digitally.
That's Xbox 360, but yeah, it just looks really good, even if it's obviously not cutting-edge by today's standards. If I remember this right, it even runs on a modified Unreal Engine 2. Yes, 2. Clearly, the artistry carries the graphics and causes them to hold up as well as they do!
Jericho did take me a few hours to get into but once it clicked I loved my time with this game, very underrated. Also have it on the Steam Deck, plays really well on that too.
I want to get the first F.E.A.R. game with the expansion packs and a physical copy of F.E.A.R. 2. But my most wanted Xbox 360 game has to be Clice Barker's Jericho, because I'm a fan of Hellraiser and it is a rare ocasion when you see a game written by a famous master of horror. My only wish would that Nightdive Studios can remaster the other game based on another Clive Barker story, Undying.
Been replaying the F.E.A.R. series for this October, in reverse from 3 to 1, expansions and DLC included. Currently on F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin, and I forgot how much fun this game was, I love how immersive the in-game movements are, from kicking animations, to shifting and flipping tables and shelves for temporary cover it's sad something like this never caught on with other FPS. I truly miss Monolith, all of their titles: Blood, Shogo, Condemned, and F.E.A.R. they had so much potential, but now thanks to so much corporate shit decision making reduced Monolith to just making Lord of Rings games, and mobile games. It's sad. Never played Jericho, but it reminds me of Killing Floor for some reason.
It sucks how they’re sitting on the Condemend and F.E.A.R ip, but aren’t allowed to make any games about those franchises. Monolith needs to make a new Condemned or a reboot. I wouldn’t mind a F.E.A.R remake
I have played pretty much every game on this list except Saw. Out of all four games my two favorites are FEAR and Bioshock (although, Bioshock is more of retrofuturism game than a horror game)
I had fun with Clive Barker's Jericho, I really like the atmosphere of the game. I wish they could remaster/remake it and fix a few problem that it had and make it feel more balanced. I think it has potential to be great just let down by a few things.
I very much love Clive Barker's Jericho💚 Gameplay and design of the levels and enemies, basically all game was very good. And graphic complement this greatly👍 Great vid✌️
I remember playing the first saw very difficult it terms of puzzle solving with the traps! And F.E.A.R an absolute underrated masterpiece of a horror game! Also the enemy AI still holds up the fact they take cover and just flank just amazes me!
"Underrated"? It won numerous industry awards, was a smash hit, and spawned a short-lived franchise of two expansion packs, a 2009 sequel that is more worthy of being called "underrated" than the first one, and a retcon-laden B-team threequel that killed the franchise outside of a short-lived online game. Sorry, but F.E.A.R. was and still is regarded as one of the most popular games of all time. Its combat inspired an entirely different game that would garner similar acclaim (Trepang2, whose developer I think are PERFECT to revive F.E.A.R.) and its AI would be used in countless other titles. WTF are you on about?
@@NebLleb I think it's underrated in the sense it is now delisted from digital marketplaces and people who weren't gaming between about 2005-2012 probably won't have heard of the series. Personally I've never heard anyone talk about the series since then in real life, only on UA-cam 😉
Its great to see F.E.A.R. get some representation here. The series as a whole, while not perfect, is really great across all three titles. They all have strengths and weaknesses but I love all three individually regardless. Never heard of Jericho until now though, and based on what I see of it I can't understand why it was disliked. Though clearly flawed to some degree, it still looks like a very interesting game. You can still find brand new sealed copies of it online for very little money even now so I'm definitely picking this one up.
The main problem with Jericho is that the squad AI isn't very good. They tend to get themselves killed a lot which forces you to revive them frequently. You can also order both fire teams to either fall back or move forward but those commands are really only used in a few places for activating switches. The game isn't really built around tactical squad combat. There's also 2 characters that really aren't all that useful. Xavier Jones, the seer with astral projection powers is mostly there for puzzles involving him projecting into an enemy and flipping a switch or destroying an obstacle. Simone Cole has time manipulating powers which lets her slow down time temporarily. It's cool but not as effective in combat as it could be. It is necessary for a single sequence involving some gun turrets Her power is also used to restore everyone's ammo automatically after every checkpoint because there's no ammo pickups. It's basically the game giving you infinite ammo without actually giving you infinite ammo. It's a very fun and somewhat janky action horror game. It's a favorite game of mine but I'm also a very big fan of games with modern occult fantasy settings.
@@kamui003 Very interesting details my guy. Bad AI can definitely make a game much worse especially if its partner AI. It's the reason I dislike Resident Evil 5, your partner AI is so braindead that you pretty much need to babysit her and make her a glorified healer just to get by. Hated her so much. Jericho still sounds interesting, just with some caveats. Thanks for the insight though, I'll keep it in mind when I boot it up.
